Adding up everything from the last total makes 1160.9 including a somewhat hungover 4.8 from me this morning. Not been my best running week as was away at a conference for 4 days with really long days (dinners every night) plus it's suddenly become really hot and humid here. The thought of a long run is just not appealing.

Might try to get out again tomorrow for an hour.

stilllearnin · 25/04/2015 07:38

I have missed wishing runtothehills good luck but I am sending you positive vibes. The weather might hold a bit and not too hot is good right??

sassytheFIRST · 25/04/2015 08:27

Ran in shorts for the first time yesterday. Felt a bit self-conscious when I started - I have pretty good legs but they do get a bit wobbly near the top! - but then felt fine. Need to sort out my top half now. I have v v big knockers (30jj) so wear a serious sports bra and usually a snuggish vest with baggy running top over. Yesterday tried the baggy top only with a crop top over the bra but couldn't breathe and ended up nipping down an alley to take the crop top off down my sleeve!!

3.5 miles to add.

sassytheFIRST · 25/04/2015 08:28

Good luck to those on big races this weekend, esp marathon on Sunday. We were there supporting my sister last year, such a great day.

Anglaise1 · 25/04/2015 08:49

5;2 miles from yesterday evening to add
1166.1

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 25/04/2015 11:16

Good luck to all runners and racers this weekend - who else is running as well s runtothehills?

3.1 parkrun miles from me today

actiongirl sorry for making you teary Smile. I still have my bright pink "you are awesome" poster (rolled it up and took it home in my suitcase), and get it out whenever I need a bit of inner strength. The other thing about running a marathon is that you can tell yourself that if you (and your family) can cope with 20 weeks of training, taper madness and the "now what?" you get afterwards, you can pretty much cope with anything else that life throws at you Smile

All the very best for your big races and runs everyone this weekend. I did 2.94 miles this am (round to 3?) with my new runners group made up of people all the same standard as me. W ran through the bluebell woods. Lovely

HalleLouja · 25/04/2015 13:28

8.2 to add from my last two runs makes 1177.4.

A lovely parkrun with even splits and a stunning club run in the bluebell wood.

HalleLouja · 25/04/2015 13:29

Plus Nowwearefour maks 1180.4 (I have a bit to add to round up to the 3 miles Wink.

suzannecanthecan · 25/04/2015 13:51

11.90 from me
1191.90

suzannecanthecan · 25/04/2015 13:55

my pita is still gone :)
I have stopped doing yoga and stopped using the leg press when I train legs
I presume there is a connection but really it's hard to know exactly what causes what Confused

familygermsareok · 25/04/2015 13:59

Good luck to all the racers this weekend. I hope the weather is good to you.

4.9 from me early this morning.
1196.8

HalleLouja · 25/04/2015 14:00

Suzanne should the total be 1192.3 unless you put the wrong miles in?

Whoop to pita going.

karatekimmi · 25/04/2015 14:05

1192.3 + 4.9 from Germs and 3.1 from me makes 1199.3

suzannecanthecan · 25/04/2015 14:08

oops Blush I made a typo on the spreadsheet thanks for spotting it Halle Wink
1192.30 it is!

even sitting down is pain free now, running seems much less tiring when it doesnt hurt, even so I am running 'easy' (ie not pushing the speed) while I build my mileage back up

karatekimmi · 25/04/2015 14:11

A lovely parkrun with a couple of friends, my fastest on since end of Feb, surprisingly as two weeks ago I thought I couldn't have done it faster, and last week I was shocked that it was a bit quicker, and now to have improved again!! I am sure it is a temporary blip and I will continue to slow down as I grow Grin

I'm off down London tomorrow to cheer on a few running club buddies and a few tens of thousand others as they do the London Marathon. I would love to see Paula Radcliff and I've downloaded the app and tagged all the other runners who I know and are famous!! I'm really quite excited, but I am not lookin forward to a 5am pick up Brew

Good luck to everyone who is running this weekend.

suzannecanthecan · 25/04/2015 14:12

gah x posted!
previous 1180.40
me 11.90
Germs 4.90
Kimmi 3.10
new total 1200.30

alleypalley · 25/04/2015 14:41

OhOne that's a brilliant story. My dh and friend actually missed me at the finish as after my teary phone call saying how rubbish I was feeling they didn't expect me to finish as quickly as I did. They had grand stand tickets and had only just started heading down there as I was finishing. That's good to hear that the Cool running training programme worked for you, I'll stick to that then.

I had planned to do 6 miles today, but an unexpected detour meant I ended up doing 7. My first week back running, I have done 3 runs totalling 14miles and my foot feels ok so I'm really happy with that.

Looking forward to tomorrow, I'm going down to cheer on the runners at about mile 23.

1207.3

suzannecanthecan · 25/04/2015 14:52

great news on the foot situation Alley :)
a while back it seemed as if lots of us were lumbered with injuries and now we seem to be collectively bouncing back?
Or am I imagining it?

lastqueenofscotland · 25/04/2015 17:10

4.1 from me so

1211.8

Anglaise1 · 25/04/2015 17:15

My PITA is getting worse, it even hurts a little when I run now. Driving (or sitting on any hard seat ) is not nice. Am I right in thinking it is Piriformis Syndrome? It isn't sciatica, not that bad. Would a physio be able to help, or are there streching exercises? It definitely isn't bad enough to stop running!

emummy · 25/04/2015 17:34

There are stretches you can do Anglaise, then maybe physio if not settling.
RunBalmoral today, was freezing! Ds did kids race and fell, so was slow and is not pleased! Dd2 did much better than last year but not as well as she wanted, so she's not too pleased either! I am perfectly happy! Did 10k, wasn't looking for a PB and just as well! What a hill! Was horrible. The pipers at the top was a nice touch though! And then the sun made way for hail, but came back again! So was happy just to do it and the ankle was happy.

suzannecanthecan · 25/04/2015 17:41

Anglaise I assumed that mine was piriformis syndrome because it fit with all the symptoms I read about but my physio said that it was my sacrotuberous ligament.
So, based on my own experience I'd say get a diagnosis and then you'll be able to select the right intervention
