Just realised from other people's posts that you had posted a picture Cinnamon. I always use the phone app and don't see the pictures. Just logged on to the main site to see. He is so beautiful. Congratulations again.

congratulations cinnamon he is gorgeous!! Will he be parkrunning tomorrow? Grin

3.2 miles to add from me, a club run with a nasty hill!! Really enjoyed it though.

Edith 3 x 5 miles is impressive!! One day, one day, ...

My pelvic floor is shot, and have wet myself a few times whilst running. It is mostly manageable, but whenever I tried to run fast for me I had accidents. Blush And I guess I am an older mother (32)

karatekimmi · 10/04/2015 20:14

400.31 + 3.79 +3.2 = 407.3

Anglaise1 · 10/04/2015 20:22

Shouldn't have run today because of race on Sunday but was dragged out by the dog because the weather was so nice. 5.75 miles of sunshine, primroses, violets and cow dung.

Congratulations cinnamon!! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 10/04/2015 21:03

No Karatekimmi!! I'm older than you, it doesn't have to be the case. Do you do pelvic floor exercises? Will see how mine goes from now onwards Wink

Whowouldfardelsbear · 10/04/2015 22:06

Congratulations Cinnamon - he's gorgeous. Got me feeling all broody again Grin

Whowouldfardelsbear · 10/04/2015 22:14

That barman is amazing.

I am sure I may have seen him running through our suburb which would have been entirely possible given the route he took. (Our suburb is right along the main north-south motorway in New Zealand.) I remember driving past a man running with a very similar trailer and then going back past him when I was on my way back about ten minutes later and i thought he'd moved surprisingly far up the road. I remember he had a bit of a grin too, which in retrospect was probably a grimace.

HalleLouja · 11/04/2015 07:54

Congratulations Cinnamon. He's so cute Grin

emummy · 11/04/2015 09:39

Been for a run! Hurray! First one after spraining ankle last Sunday. Went nice and slow with ankle all taped up and it felt ok. Slightly achy now but no worse than after walking. Will try again Monday

suzannecallmestan · 11/04/2015 14:14

glad to hear your ankle is improving Emummy!

10.11 from me
425.36

first run in the Altra shoes, very comfortable but I was a little slower compared to running in the Hokas
may or may not be related

pita seems to be slowly improving

ImBrian · 11/04/2015 17:21

Congratulations Cinnamon he's looks lovely, hope your both getting some sleep and recovering well.

On the topic of pelvic floor I have 5 children (1st at 20 last at 34) and the only time I've wet myself a bit was at 8 months pregnant with #5 I really needed a wee but was being sick. The heaving resulted in leakage Confused fingers crossed never again!

2.2 miles from me with dd on her bike so 427.56.

My left shin started to ache on the inside while running but then went after a mile but it's still a bit sore today. It only aches as my foot rolls forwards when I'm walking. Could this be the start of shin splints? I'm supposed to be going out to do 10k tomorrow afternoon but don't want to make it worse.

actiongirl1978 · 11/04/2015 20:06

Hi cinnamon congratulations! What a gorgeous bundle!

Suzanne glad to hear your pita is feeling better. Is it worse while running or afterwards? (Apologies if I missed a previous explanation)

Anglaise any news on your test results? Are you still feeling the same? Good luck in your Sunday race.

Emummy did you tape your ankle up yourself? Do you use kinesiology tape? I was fascinated how much of a difference the tape made to my knee this week. It rolled up and peeled off in the night last night and my run this morning was ok, but my knee was super painful afterwards. Still not sure if I can do my HM after a three week break in long run training.

So adding 4 miles today, not particularly enjoyable, I am desperate to get back and do a long run!

Stillearnin yes the physio said that it was my patella - I think basically runners knee. I am supposed to be strengthening the inside of my knees about an inch above, my glutes are weak apparently (super strong hamstrings though Grin) and my ITB super tight also. I'm really looking forward to my second appointment!

suzannecanthecan · 11/04/2015 20:11

pita is sharpest while sitting down afterwards, it kicks in as a dullish ache after about 8 miles or so.

Sorry to hear about your knee Actiongirl, my problem is also apparently due to glutes not doing their job properly (we all have such lazy arses on this threadBlush )

did your physio suggest any exercises to do?

familygermsareok · 11/04/2015 20:49

Aww, congratulations cinnamon, what an absolutely gorgeous wee bundle Smile

Just back from hols and can't quite believe I've got a HM tomorrow Confused. Hoping the benefit of a week at high altitude will offset all the wine and cake consumed! Just aiming to get round in one piece and still be sort of running the horrible hill at the end.

Good luck with yours anglaise and anyone else who is racing this weekend.

actiongirl1978 · 11/04/2015 21:19

suzanne that's interesting! my piriformis (I assume) is super sore after longish runs. I also have bad hip flexor pain in the right leg which is where my dodgy knee is, probably all related to lazy glutes.

Physio suggested one legged bridges, where the opposing leg is crossed over the top like an ITB stretch with a bridge. Also standing against a wall, lift the knee closest to the wall and bend the other knee tracking out over the second toe. Also on all fours, knees under hips, lift the leg 90degrees to the side slowly. Does seem to activate them well but I wonder how much I need to do to get the glutes firing up?

Good luck family Smile

suzannecanthecan · 11/04/2015 22:06

I find this quite good for glutes,

I tried doing reps of the glute bridge exercise whilst pushing out against the band

you could also do it the other way round
perhaps it's just a matter of keeping them active whilst running?
I shall continue to experiment with exercises in and out of the gym, dealifts are good for training hip extension....or has your physio said to avoid?

stilllearnin · 11/04/2015 23:20

Ah I think I have been along the right lines PITA wise. I reckon mine was brought on by over indulgent stretching during yoga, so i'm interested in strengthening. I try to do some toning of different zones most days as my work is so sedentary im suprised people dont check my pulse. I found a similar exercise and some others too and I will try to link in the next few days. life is crazy at the minute. Dp ill again, dc really feeling it in what i suppose are standard teen and pre-teen ways, and of course work and all other mundanities carry on. But in amongst all of this cinnamon had a beautiful baby- now that warms the cockles Grin

AggressiveBunting · 12/04/2015 03:34

437.56 including 10 miles from me this morning with a PB over the first 9.3 miles, which is the bit I time as it's part of a few big races. Realised that I basically go at the same pace whatever distance I'm running and that I should aim to push myself a bit more over the shorter runs if I want to improve. In particular I need to stop walking the hills unless they're really long or stepped.
