Great news from the physio Suzanne. And such a good point about the cooling breeze, not sure how I will survive in summer, early mornings I think.

Suzannewithaplan · 26/03/2015 20:39

I am already in training for getting up super early come the summer...my transition from owl to lark is almost complete, have switched from 2.30am bedtimes to 11.30pm

Sazorchard31 · 26/03/2015 20:46

I live by the sea too Suzanne but I tend to avoid going out when it's too windy, though think I'll be better when it's warmer, it just gets so cold! My daughter describes us getting out of and in to the house as like being in frozen!

anglaise I'm signed up for the liverpool spring 10k on 3 May which should motivate me, think it's just been a can't be bothered week. Debating signing up for a half marathon against physios advice, so that will def motivate me. I can start the training and if 6+ miles is bad for my knee I don't need to sign up. I did go to boxing club at lunchtime and felt AMAZING for it!

Anglaise1 · 26/03/2015 21:09

Sazor plenty of time to get ready for your 10k and a HM sounds like a good idea (I'm thinking about doing one in a few weeks...it's a good one to do a PB). I can't remember, what is wrong with your knee, and what treatment are you getting from your physio? I was so impressed with the shockwave treatment I had for my knee tendonitis from my physio. 8 weeks on and my knee is nearly perfect - I didn't feel any pain at all in my last race.

Suzannewithaplan · 26/03/2015 21:09

I'm guessing you're on a different coast to me Edith?
I'm south coast so have it relatively easy....as coastal weather goes!

Sazorchard31 · 26/03/2015 21:39

anglaise I had synovial oesteochondramytosis in my knee...excess fluid turned into rice sized of cartilage, and a big group.of them started to clarify so I had the mass removed last November via keyhole as well as the pellet pieces all over my knee. Very weird! Discharged from physio begin of Jan but his concern was early arthritis as they don't know if it'll come back. Knee however is the best its been in years! No pain at all just concerned of long term impacts

Sazorchard31 · 26/03/2015 21:41

Predictive spelling...grr! Clarify is calcify

EdithDickie · 26/03/2015 21:44

I was running in Plymouth today, not normally too bad but it was howling up the river!

Runrunrun1 · 26/03/2015 21:46

Oh no cinnamon, sorry, but thank you!

Suzannewithaplan · 26/03/2015 22:36

I'm wasConfused
I meant to say that I guessed Sazor (not Edith) is on a colder bit of the coast Blush

had an idea that you were Devon way Edith-I used to live in North Devon and around Exeter way, would love to go back!

Sazorchard31 · 26/03/2015 22:55

I face out onto the Irish sea Suzanne. I'm a wuss with the wind though!

EdithDickie · 27/03/2015 01:31

Irish Sea definitely chillier than Devon and Cornwall! Am the softest of soft southerner!

AggressiveBunting · 27/03/2015 02:15

Yes, I must say I'm not looking forward to the runs in 32 degrees and 90% humidity. You do get used to it though.

4 miles from me (Crossfit commute) to make 1437.85. Targeting a long run tomorrow morning. However, the HK 7's starts today so it does kind of depend what time I get out of the pub Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 27/03/2015 09:46

Another 4 miles from me in much more pleasant weather!! -1C but bright and dry. Hope to do my last parkrun for a while tomorrow and then only a week until baby arrives Shock 1441.85

emummy · 27/03/2015 11:03

A week cinnamon?! I'm so impressed with how long you have kept running. Enjoy that last (for now) parkrun.
Weather much better here today, a toasty 8 degrees and lovely sun. Did 4.25 mixed pace run, just wore t shirt & capris, was lovely.
1445.1

cinnamongreyhound · 27/03/2015 11:11

It's warmed up here now too emummy Smile. It has totally surprised me too, I have to say. Baby is due Easter Monday and I will be induced on Tuesday 7th if he hasn't made an appearance. I'm RD at parkrun on 4th so this week is my last running one, never thought I'd still be going to volunteered!

Anglaise1 · 27/03/2015 11:37

Cinnamon you are inspirational still running at the end of your pregnancy. Here in France women HAVE to stop work 8 weeks before the due date and nearly all get signed off with a sick note a month before that. Pregnant women are wrapped in cotton wool.
5 miles from me, but my legs felt a bit fragile so I won't run tomorrow. I'm so hungry at the moment, not sure if that is the after effect of the race. I'm used to fasting but usually don't feel as hungry as this until around 6pm on fast days.

originalpiratematerial · 27/03/2015 11:49

1456.72 including my 6.62 miles from this week - am just taking it very easy with lots of walking intervals.

originalpiratematerial · 27/03/2015 11:50

Cinnamon you are so so awesome!!

Runrunrun1 · 27/03/2015 11:56

Cinnamon, that's amazing! I hadn't read through the whole thread so had no idea that you were pregnant let alone so close. I am in awe, wow!! Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 27/03/2015 11:56

That would drive me INSANE Angalise1, not mention how poor I'd be! I'm self employed so working until Thursday next week. Nice bank holiday weekend before baby arrives Grin

Sazorchard31 · 27/03/2015 12:08

Incredible to still be running cinnamon!!!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 27/03/2015 12:34

It's not the speediest of running! I'm frightening most people but genuinely feel fine when running. Don't feel impressive, just keeps me sane!

phlebasconsidered · 27/03/2015 12:55

Adding my 4 miles from this morning, off road to cushion my knees a bit. 1460.72

stilllearnin · 27/03/2015 13:17

Well i would add my 100 metres from this morning but I'm not sure that's allowed. I have glute pain - my word it hurts. I can no longer touch my toes and I am pretty flexible! I took dd out tho before school. We literally ran round the block twice but she had to walk a few times. She's quite fit but seemingly little stamina. Didn't hurt at the time but it does now. I think we should ban injury talk. I always think , I've never had that when I read stuff on here, and then about a week later I'm stricken!! Grin
