We are a long-running thread, but very friendly - please come and say hello, and chat about PBs, tourism, progress towards tee-shirts and anyything else about parkrun

Are any of you doing Whipsnade? I think I might do. Am obviously doing Wheathampstead too . I think there might be a mum's race there...

Possibly. I did it last year and enjoyed it - although it was really, really hot.

When is it this year?

7th June. I don't think it sold out last year so will decide closer to the time. It was my first race so feel like I should go back to see how I do this year.

The fact that it is as flat as a pancake has nothing to do with it . It was boiling last year though.

I re-did the Mo Run this year just to see how much faster I could do it after a 2 year break. It was awful though and I got stuck in "traffic" so couldn't really tell.

At least the Whipsnade run will be warm and not cold and wet like that was...

Shall I try to put people off? Glenn said this one needed another soft launch like Watford.

Glen has been panicking about our launch for a long time and he probably knows what he's talking about. I'm not so bothered famous last words what will be, will be.

I mentioned on the Run Mummy Run one there is going to be one later in the year. The only group I mentioned it on was my run club one. Goes to check New Parkrun group.

That should read - the only group I mentioned the date of the inaugural is on my run club page. You won't get lots of us. Just a handful she says hopefully we are not that big. Looks over at Blathers and her green running friends.

Added feet. I'll keep an eye out on the tourists page for you too. I'd add you to that too but it actually has entry requirements

The most hardcore of my green friends were at Maidenhead with me last weekend and spoke to Glen who has put them off attending this one and I'm going to be running my brother's 100th with him up North so can't be there either I'm sure you'll get a few greens but not hundreds this time.

So far I have three goings (including me) and four maybes. There won't be a sea of red either.

Word of mouth is great Halle, it means we should grow organically.

Have told them not to go around announcing details anywhere else IYKWIM.

So exciting feetheart but I get the fear too based on the size of the place! I so desperately want 100 runners whereas all my RD's don't want us to be that big, can't imagaine several hundred though.

I am planning to run my last parkrun for a while tomorrow . Didn't expect to still be running so I'm RD on 4th april and then if baby isn't born by 6th I will be induced on 7th so that will be it for a while. I'm hoping to pop down with baby and volunteer pretty soon once I feel up to it but so unsure how I'll feel. Will really miss my little community but may need a lay in on a Saturday!
