Brilliant Cinnamon CakeCakeCake Happy Birthday!

I've been informed by one of our RDs that I've been spotted in the parkrun book that came out recently though I haven't seen it myself.

I'm running tomorrow but am excited to be volunteering next week as barcode scanner yey, I've only kept time before.

Happy parkrunning one and all.

MelanieCheeks · 14/03/2015 07:22

Lovely cake, Cinnamon! It's our 100th event this morning Smile

meglet · 14/03/2015 07:27

morning. 8yo DS has been begged not to chat all the way round the course today. He always gives himself a stitch through gassing then whines he didn't get a pb Hmm .

feetheart · 14/03/2015 07:28

Volunteering at SA again today and it looks like a lovely day.

Happy parkrunning people :)

feetheart · 14/03/2015 07:31

Oooo, Happy 100th Melanie
Been looking around the parkrun site and see there's a Limavady parkrun in the offing - will that be the 20th in Norn Irn?
Trying to plan the summer so we can do Portrush :)

MelanieCheeks · 14/03/2015 08:33

I've done 55 of those 100 - but have done another 20 across 15 other venues.

Limavady would be the 20th, yes. When's it due to start? My parents live in Portstewart, so I've done Portrush a couple of times.

HalleLouja · 14/03/2015 10:50

I nearly gave up about 20 times today but run completed Grin.

meglet · 14/03/2015 10:56

well done halle. you did it!

ThursdayLast · 14/03/2015 11:12

Well done Halle those days are hard.

There was a fast fast start today - I went with it and was panting very soon in. Had to take a 10 pace walk at mile 2.
But it was worth it!
I knocked a giant 17 seconds off my PB Shock!

feetheart · 14/03/2015 11:54

Fantastic Thursday, wasn't it you who kept missing your PB by seconds a while ago?

Well done for getting through it Halle - I cheered you through the finishing funnel (as I guarded the 'Triangle of Poo' Hmm and did 'Number Checker')

Melanie - looks like Limavady is starting in 2 weeks time. Another one for the list :)

cinnamongreyhound · 14/03/2015 11:54

Exciting about the book ThursdayLast! Well done on PB.

Well done on getting round HalleLouja!

But rude of rd ohOneOhTwoOhThree, hope you got to have your potter :)

We had a fab turn out, 88 runners so a new course record! Journalist was very enthusiastic but a bit too focused on me for my liking!!! Loads of tutus and not much cake left over.

familygermsareok · 14/03/2015 12:12

Happy parkrun birthday cinnamon and happy 100th event melanie. Fabulous Cake ! Smile

Well done halle, it feels so good to finish on a hard day. A great achievement.
And huge congrats on your brilliant new PB thursday Grin

I was running with a friends DC today so no chasing PBs. It was actually really nice relaxing and running among a different group of faces. I do enjoy running it fast and aiming at my PB but it was good to have the pressure off today too Wink

feetheart what is the Triangle of Poo? Shock Do I really want to know?

HalleLouja · 14/03/2015 12:20

Feet where is this triangle of poo? Thanks for the cheer. I needed it. Finished strongly and it was my secondest fast time of the year and maybe a bit longer. Felt more sluggish than it was though....

Thursday whoop to you. Did you do a celebratory whoop?

HalleLouja · 14/03/2015 12:20

Cinnamon you might be in the paper avec bump!

ThursdayLast · 14/03/2015 12:40

Thanks all - it's such a buzz when you get a PB. Checking my phone and ipad over and over for the official time.

Our course has a downhill finish where vital seconds can be shaved off if you try hard enough Halle so it was more a victorious swearing under my breath as I tried to get out of the tunnel! It was especially funny after my hungover 36+ minutes personal worst last week Grin

And yes, what is this triangle of poo...???

feetheart · 14/03/2015 13:18

'Triangle of Poo' - 3 sticks and some bright yellow parkrun tape around an enormous pile of dog poo close to the finish funnel Envy

MelanieCheeks · 14/03/2015 13:59

Well....... I arrived and discovered my headphones weren't charged, so I thought Drat. Canine running mate Zola arrived, but was running with her dad rather than mum, and I though Double Drat, I'll never keep up with him. But do you know what? I was clipping Neil's heels all the way round, and even our usual First Lady only caught me half way through lap 3. My garmin said 24:15, though the official time says 24:21, it's still a new PB!

ThursdayLast · 14/03/2015 14:40

Oh feet that seems very mean of your RD, I'm sorry you ended up with that job!

And yes, it was me who kept missing my Pb! I know why now, it needed a super human effort!

ThursdayLast · 14/03/2015 14:41

And well done Melanie!

familygermsareok · 14/03/2015 16:51

Yuck, you should get extra volunteer points for that job feet. Hope its a once-off Confused

And congrats melanie on PB. My Garmin always shows me a few seconds faster than official time, I think it just takes a few seconds to start once I've pushed the button.

HalleLouja · 14/03/2015 18:30

One of the Arrows was volunteering too. Fab guy. I saw him holding bar codes Confused.

cinnamongreyhound · 14/03/2015 18:33

Well done MelanieCheeks!

cinnamongreyhound · 14/03/2015 18:48

Speedy reporting!

HalleLouja · 14/03/2015 19:25

Nice tutu cinnamon.

Am thinking of running Fritton Lake parkrun on Easter Saturday if anyone is local. Also looked at Gorleston but the word cliff put me off. That will be my third course. Then am doing Luton in April too. Plus need to do Panshanger.

HalleLouja · 14/03/2015 19:26

Well done Melanie.
