New thread for parkrunners old and new.

We are a long-running thread, but very friendly - please come and say hello, and chat about PBs, tourism, progress towards tee-shirts and anyything else about parkrun Smile

And meet baby greyhound Grin?

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 25/04/2015 20:09

I don't think it's closed but don't hold me to that!

Yes baby greyhound will be in the sling at the mid point water station with dh and I and probably doing other jobs at the start. At the moment mini greyhounds will be staying with their nannie.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 25/04/2015 20:12

So I need to either get there early or stop halfway round for a cuddle Grin?

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 25/04/2015 21:21

Will be back at finish once all runners have been through so will depend if you can wait around Grin

familygermsareok · 25/04/2015 22:36

Glad all ok cinnamon.

Yes, OhOne, I think so too. How very dare my kids find things they want to do on Sat mornings Wink Usually we are struggling to detach them from their x boxes!
Short term though, normal service resumed after another 3 weeks.

HalleLouja · 26/04/2015 08:27

Feet I hope yesterday went ok.

I went to SA and actually enjoyed it. I ran the most even splits ever nowhere near a PB but was properly happy about it. I also took over a kid in front of me at the final sprint. My club mates were cheering on and one was happy as he got beaten by a 13 year old. He is super speedy.

feetheart · 26/04/2015 11:24

LW parkrun#2 went really well thanks - 114 runners (compared with 197 last week), hordes of marathon-running volunteers, lots of people new to parkrun, our first doggie-runners and nice simple results process. All good Grin

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 26/04/2015 12:46

Great news feet

HalleLouja · 26/04/2015 13:00

Well done feet.

Watched Paula finish in a very dusty room.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/04/2015 16:36

Was very emotional HalleLouja and in not a fan!

Great news feetheart!

cinnamongreyhound · 29/04/2015 13:39

We have tonnes of volunteers this week and someone else wanted to rd as he's injured so if I go to parkrun I either just watch or run!

feetheart · 29/04/2015 22:41

Are you up for a run?
If so then go for it #nostoppingthiswoman :o

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 30/04/2015 21:03

You could run/walk cinnamon Smile

One of my little gang of parkrun friends is going her 50th on Saturday Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 30/04/2015 21:16

I did from my house a lap and back to my house tonight so dh thinks I can do the lot.

Enjoy the 50 celebrations OhOneOhTwoOhThree!

Blatherskite · 01/05/2015 17:01

One of the guys who runs the events near me did his 1000th marathon last summer. No, that's not a mis-type!

I'm working at the MK Marathon this weekend. Anyone running?

feetheart · 01/05/2015 18:13

1000 Shock Is that even possible?

No MK for me this weekend but there are a few Striders doing it - look out for the red tops. If you get a very smiley bloke who will probably still be chatting as he goes across the line that's Willie, save a hug for him :)

When are you coming on tour over here?

Wondering if the '3rd event is the new inaugural' crowd will turn up tomorrow?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 01/05/2015 21:47

Blardy hell Blathers, what a running machine!

No MK this time for us this year - DH fancied it but didn't get round to signing up, and then got ill so couldn't have done it anyway. Which meant I could do cinnamon's 10K instead Smile

Hope all goes well tomorrow feet, I had a nice chat with Willie at Luton (you introduced us at SA that time).

meglet · 02/05/2015 07:39

morning everyone. hope everyone has a nice run today.

me and 8yo ds are off out this morning. weather looks grey but dry. I'm going to bribe him with the promise of a new tom gates book for a good run, I think he could get under 30 if he stops chatting so much while running Hmm .

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 02/05/2015 08:00

You too meglet.

It is our 200th run today, so it is fancy dress. I have something planned but have no idea if I will be able to run in it, or whether it will be safe to get on my bike in it Grin

1000 marathons!!!! Oh my life that man deserve a medal or a straight jacket.

Managed a parkrun pb this morning so happy happy.

Willie is great. I had a lovely run with him at SA once and saw him scanning tokens at your inaugural feet!

cinnamongreyhound · 02/05/2015 13:56

Well done HalleLouja!

I ran my home parkrun and the sun shone Smile managed my fastest parkrun since February, 31:39 so I'm happy. Felt sick walking up there, not good at being centre of attention and knew everyone would be watching. Had a group of regulars all staring as I walked up, and many comments on my figure but everyone was very friendly and I got a big clap over the line. Came back quickly and ds3 was hungry, but just at the slightly whingy stage not screaming Smile

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 02/05/2015 14:01

Brilliant cinnamon Grin, and well done Halle on your PB Smile

OP posts:
feetheart · 02/05/2015 14:17

Wow, just fantastic Cinnamon. Well done you Star

And well done on your PB Halle

How was the fancy dress Ohone? Did you go for it and, if so, we need photos :)

Lots of fun at LW today - 175 runners, lots of new people, some tourists and a buggy runner who had to carry the baby up the final hill whilst pushing the buggy - that is hardcore parkrunning :o

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 02/05/2015 15:22

Yes feet, I went in dressing gown and pyjamasSmile lots of jokes about not having time to get dressed, although I did have running gear on underneathGrin Grin Grin
The best bit was running wirh my friend who was doing her 50th and encouraging her to a PBSmile just had a lovely text from herSmile
Photos will appear at some pointSmile

Hello everyone!

Just need to check I'm not seeing things.
Cinnamon you've been running already?!
Blathers 1000 marathons? That man needs...well I don't even know what. Help.

After having been in a very lazy and slightly boozy and (sssshhhh) kind of smokey honeymoon I did a very damp Lanhydrock parkrun in 29mins this morning. Was quite pleased to be able to run the whole way Grin

I hope you're all well. I've got a 10 mile race at Lanhydrock in 6 weeks, which seemed easy at the time of signing up but about which I am more anxious now.
