Blood test results better but not normal so we're back Monday. Test from yesterday shows that his right kidney may have little or no function. Iit's very sad and I am worried about it but it means he won't have surgery as there isn't any point. It's been an emotional few months!! They will decide at meeting in May if it's likely to be useful to operate but they won't do anything until he's at least 3 months old which is a relief to dh and I. Have been told many 10's of times how many people live with only one kidney and he will be closely monitored at a renal clinic and have regular ultrasounds so he's beig well looked after.

feetheart · 17/04/2015 23:15

More hugs for the Cinnamon family.

In case I don't get a chance in the morning I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone on here for all your enthusiasm, help, support and general awesomeness in all things parkrun and particularly in helping me to get to this point - 10 hours away from our inaugural ShockGrin

It was actually lurking on here that got me hooked on the idea of parkrun and then annoyed that there wasn't one close enough that I could do and still get DS to gymnastics.
Amazingly I got to do my first one on holiday only last May and have now managed to get up to 20. Not a huge number to draw on as an ED but I also have all of you and your experiences from different locations in different parts of the country. That has given me a brilliant insight into parkrun life and, hopefully, helped me create another awesome parkrun to add to the fold :)

So here are Flowers for everyone and Cake, lots and lots of Cake

Have a fabulous parkrunday everyone Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 18/04/2015 02:26

How exciting feetheart, have a fab parkrun, hope all goes smoothly for you! Try to enjoy it if you can, will be looking forward to your post tomorrow x

Knackerelli · 18/04/2015 07:17

Cinnamon - glad that you and your boy are having a break for a bit whilst still being monitored. I'm sure all will be well.

Feetheart - you don't need it but good luck today. Everything will go smoothly, even the weather is glorious for you! Flowers

Came on today to say that today is my 50th! Dragging DH out of bed to cheerlead with DS 5, (who has announced he will be scanning) and ill run round with DD. Chocolates for all at the end. Can't wait!

HalleLouja · 18/04/2015 10:45

Feet you were amazing. Though I forgot my hearing aid so missed most of the speech. What a lovely park. I struggled today but that's just me at the moment. The other Arrows liked it too. Though I think were cursing me when they were running round it. Grin

ohone sorry I missed you. I just was recovering then I needed to get home.

standingonlego · 18/04/2015 12:20

Looking forward to hearing about how it went feet. Fellow Wolef crockery and I were thinking of you as we were cradling Brew whilst trying to recover from my 40th party last night Grin. Delighted that OhOne and halle* were there to cheer you on Grin

Well done you Star

cinnamongreyhound · 18/04/2015 12:25

Enjoy knackerelli!

Sounds like it went well feetheart, hope processing was smooth for you!

I got to mine about 9.15 so saw all the finishers and had a chat with all our regulars :) what a beautiful morning for a parkrun. Loved walking through the forest with my little man in his sling in the sunshine!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 18/04/2015 12:41

feet you were fabulous Grin your speech was brilliant, and it was all seemed to go so well. Really friendly runners, and a real sense of community, especially seeing some familiar faces from my "home" parkrun.

Halle sorry to have missed you - we must coordinate better next time!

Knackerelli congratulations on your 50 Smile

cinners nothing will keep you away will it Grin. Glad you will be off the hospital merry-go-round for a bit with baby greyhound.

Well done knackerelli! Today was my 42nd so I'm not too far behind...

Happy Birthday lego Cake

feetheart · 18/04/2015 14:09

Congratulations on your 50th Knackerelli, hope you had a brilliant time :-)

I am still on a MASSIVE, MASSIVE high Grin
It all went fantastically well - the sun shone, the park looked beautiful, we had far more volunteers than we needed but used them anyway, the old boy comedy marshals were in top form (81 yr old Jim and hi 79 yr old mate Tommy :)), the Mayor came and cut the ribbon, all three local running clubs turned out in force (as runners, volunteers and supporters), there were lots of people new to parkrun, some very complimentary tourists, Ohone and Halle were there and there was lots of cake. I really couldn't have asked for more. I am one VERY, VERY happy ED :o

cinnamongreyhound · 18/04/2015 16:57

So pleased for you feetheart!!!!

HalleLouja · 18/04/2015 17:28

familygermsareok · 18/04/2015 20:55

cinnamon I'm sorry to hear about babycinnamon's health problems. It must be a very difficult time for you Flowers
I'm glad you both enjoyed his first independent outing to parkrun, first of many I'm sure.

Huge congratulations feetheart, you should be deservedly very proud, what an amazing achievement Star It was interesting to see your back story, I had just assumed you had done loads and loads of parkruns yourself, I'm even more impressed that you have started one up now. I'm glad you had Cake Cake Cake, that is very important Wink

Congratulations on your 50th knackerelli Smile

No parkrun for me for the last 3 weeks, away on hols and today timing was wrong but I did get out for a very early run at 6:30 so was there in spirit.

cinnamongreyhound · 23/04/2015 18:29

Thinking of RDing next week as we have a vacant position at the moment. Dh reckons I'll be alright and I'm feeling better by the day so I should be fine. Will take ds3 with me in case he gets hungry. He's just had his blood test postponed from tomorrow to 7th may as dr's are happy with the levels in the last one, yay!!!!

karatekimmi · 24/04/2015 06:32

Glad to hear things are on the up, for mini cinnamon. I'm sure being introduced to the parkrun family would be good for him!!

melanie I love that you look for the fastest time in your age category, I just check the slowest runner!!

karatekimmi · 24/04/2015 06:32

Oh and it sounds like your inaugural went well feet it must be pleasing to see all the hard work pay off!!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 25/04/2015 11:27

Morning parkrunners!

A very sociable one for me this morning - coffee and cake with friends afterwards to celebrate a birthday. But the big celebrations were for two of our regular runners. They are both in their 70s, and recently celebrated their ruby wedding anniversary. Today the husband was running his 150th parkrun and the wife was running her 100th. They are both also regular volunteers. And the husband is also running his 150th marathon tomorrow Shock.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 25/04/2015 20:06

Has registration closed for the 10K? DH has been poorly all week so is def not doing the MK HM, so I might be able to do the 10K Smile
