New thread for parkrunners old and new.

We are a long-running thread, but very friendly - please come and say hello, and chat about PBs, tourism, progress towards tee-shirts and anyything else about parkrun Smile

Wonderful blog Melanie and your DD sounds spectacular (I may have had something in my eye at one point)

I might got to Wimpole again this week. DS needs collecting in Cambridge on Saturday morning so it would be daft not to really Grin, especially as he didn't need collecting from somewhere near enough to Corby for me to go on tour there last week Smile

Sorry, that don't make much sense apart from in my head. DS was supposed to be staying with a friend near Corby last weekend, so I was going to take up Jenny's invitation and give that one a try, but his plans changed at the moment so I ended up running at home instead.

DS is off to a party in Cambridge on Friday night, so I will combine parkrun with collecting him. I may even threaten to pick him up BEFORE parkrun and make him and his chums run with me and DS2. Wish I had thought of that as an April fool earlier. DS1 is not very happy with me ATM, as I have taken a week off work to remind him at every possible moment that he has AS resits and A2s coming up, and that doing the odd bit of revision during the Easter holidays might be a good idea Grin

Have you done Cambridge OhOneOhTwoOhThree? Or is it too big?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 01/04/2015 20:16

Not yet cinnamon, I just need to find out what side of Cambridge DS1's friend lives on Smile

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 01/04/2015 20:21

Good luck with that Wink

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 01/04/2015 22:01

Yay! Friend lives 10 mins from Wimpole Smile

Perfect!

Mumonabroom · 03/04/2015 19:25

Love reading about all the achievements on here, a real inspiration! Did my first Parkrun last Saturday, needless to say I'll be there again tomorrow! It really is addictive!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 03/04/2015 20:37

Brilliant Mumonabroom come back tomorrow and give us a run report!

It has drizzled/rained all day here. Wimpole will be a mud-fest Grin

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 03/04/2015 20:51

It's really muddy here OhOneOhTwoOhThree and that takes a lot due to sandy soil so I'm guessing you will need a change of shoes for wimpole!

Still pregnant so should still be fine to rd tomorrow, we've got eggs for kids (joys of being a small parkrun) tomorrow but otherwise normal for us.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 03/04/2015 21:00

Yep, I have a muddy pair and a not-so-muddy pair of the same trainers Grin. The muddy ones have only just recovered from the last time we went there!

Enjoy your RD'ing and looking forward to baby news Smile

'Still pregnant' Grin

Have fun tomorrow cinnamon

I'm just running tomorrow, I'm a bit stuffed up so just taking it easy I think.

Have fun everyone!

feetheart · 04/04/2015 07:23

Happy parkrunday everyone :)

DS and I are tail-running at SA. Wanted to wear Easter Smile but couldn't find them anywhere Easter Sad
SA aren't very into dressing up or marking special occasions though so we may have been the only ones. LW will be VERY different elf onsie and various hats already bought in sales for Christmas Easter Grin

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 04/04/2015 07:48

I had a look at your parkrun page last night feet It's all very real now isn't it! I am glad you will be setting the right tone from the start Easter Grin.

DS2 appears to be out of bed. I mentioned parkrun to the parents when I dropped DS1 off last night and may have recruited a couple more parkrunners Smile

Getting very real indeed, I have even had emails people have sent via the website Shock

Had fun tail-running, helping a mum and her slightly reluctant 5 year old to get round. She was a very happy little girl when she finished Easter Grin
DS decided running with his friend was more interesting, and faster, than tail-running so abandoned me Easter Hmm

cinnamongreyhound · 04/04/2015 11:54

We had lots of tourists this morning and managed to get to 69 runners Easter Grin. And I got a little parkrun baby basket, very kind of them all!

HalleLouja · 04/04/2015 12:22

Cinners I hope you had fun RD-ing today. Next week you will be on your couch and nowhere near Parkrun I am hoping.

Feet the little girl sped up when I was passing you and I had a little race with her [tbgin]. I finished a minute outside my PB but was happy with that. Hahahaha to minifeet. I saw your friend got a PB too. Well done him. Sub 30 minutes too.

HalleLouja · 04/04/2015 12:23

Grin not gin....

Oh did you DS1 run in the end?

HalleLouja · 04/04/2015 12:28

Not sure how I got a burns night emoticon... Easter Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 04/04/2015 12:37

I hope to be home by Saturday HalleLouja, if I am I'm not ruling out a cuppa in the tea room post parkrun Easter Wink

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 04/04/2015 12:58

Easter Grin I knocked over 5 minutes off my previous Wimpole time Easter Grin It was far less muddy and I am far fitter than I was in early January.

Neither DS ran with me in the end. DS2 was up, but didn't feel like coming, and I decided it was a bit cruel to drag DS1 up and away from his friends before 9am. Instead I had a bacon sarnie and a coffee in the cafe in peace and then went to collect him. I ended up giving three of his friends a lift to the station and had teenage alcohol fumes wafting over me from the back of the car Smile

This time next week cinners will have her baby and feet, lego and I will be in the middle of our WOLF run

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 04/04/2015 12:59

Now that is dedication cinnamon Grin

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 04/04/2015 13:34

Well done OhOneOhTwoOhThree!! Hopefully I will join you there before the end of the year Easter Grin

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 04/04/2015 14:49

That would be fab cinnamon. I definitely want to go back there in better weather than the twice I have been so far.

OP posts:
feetheart · 04/04/2015 15:28

DS and I want to run it in the sun too so count us in Easter Smile

Ohone - I am concentrating so much on our test run on Friday that I keep forgetting the WOLEF experience awaiting me on Saturday Easter Shock It may be self-preservation!
