Anyone else starting a Beachbody workout programme? (T25, insanity etc)

Ok so my Focus T25 box has arrived today! Costs a lot but it has 11 25 minute work outs and some stretchy exercise band things. Idea is that because I have spent a lot I will have to knuckle down and see it through for the next 2 months.

I will probably try it over the weekend and start properly on mon. I am 3 stone overweight so this is going to be a mega challenge! Has anyone else recently started something similar or a new workout dvd and want to help motivate each other?

sarah well done on your NSV - I love that feeling (even though it has been a long time since I had that feeling)

I love rest days Grin I don't feel guilty at all!

Just done Rip't circuit - love it but it really isn't that hard.

Those of you who are on MFP, I am not ignoring your comments but it won't let me comment back for some reason - maybe it is because I am using an app Hmm I will investigate but I promise I am not ignoring you.

I'm feeling fine! Honestly I keep waiting for something to happen, but I'm feeling totally normal. Thanks for thinking of me.

Am defo starting P90X next week if I continue at this rate. I need to shift these 4kg I've put on since diagnosis (self-medicating with wine and no exercise since lumpectomy induced!)

Whoops, posted prematurely! NSV - love it Smile! Hoping there will be a few more of those as I get my summer wardrobe out.

Did gamma extreme circuit on a tummy full of costa hot choc Shock, not my best idea. Enjoyed it but found it hard. Had thoughts of quitting! Found it the hardest of all the gamma workouts.

poppy I've done lower focus. Woo hoo week 1 done! Have a pain in my middle toe on right foot, when I lift my heel and bend back the toe Confused; which made the plyo bits really uncomfortable and the calf/kangaroo hops almost impossible, but did the best I could. Smile

There are only 4 gammas so just did alpha tbc - still horrid Shock! Was harbouring unhappy birthday wishes to Shaun!

Yep I hate Shaun t today too! Did max strength. Press up circuits were so hard I managed about 1 of each exercise before modifying and my shoulders are killing now. I know it is possible to do the exercises as the people do it on the dvd but frankly I can't ever imagine being able to do them! Maybe boobz can?!

Jackster hope your foot gets better. It sounds sore. Maybe a rest day is in order?
Bath and bed for the kids now then a roast chicken and tucking into the cake I made with dd earlier. Is cake good 'muscle recovery' food??

OMG, I still have nightmares about alpha TBC...I don't think I am every going to venture there again Wink

Did Dynamic Core today which was OK - I do have to modify a bit and not sure I am every going to get through the bicycle abs/v hold without resting but I like it.

Am having my weekly 'eat without logging calories' day today and actually haven't eaten that much apart from too many Thornton's chocs am really trying to be aware of hunger and only eat when I am really hungry.

Boobz that is really promising - fingers crossed you are feeling up to exercise next week.

Jackster lower focus done - Lung Squat Progression Baby - lunge squat progression! Well done on doing as much of the workout as pos with sore foot, hope the pain goes quickly...rest day tomorrow at least.

Happy Birthday shaun T - he would have been in my year at school Grin if he had lived in england and gone to the same school as me... which he didn't ... but still, we share a bond Wink

Purple - cakes have eggs and pos choc so surely excellent recovery food....

My dc are watching that Ninja show on itv right now and were wondering if the contestants would be able to do t25 Grin

Purple, thank you so much for all the info on Max 30. Think I'll give it a go.
Two questions: What does Max Out mean exactly? Is it when you are pretty much ready to pass out or is it when your form is compromised and the quality of exercise gets much worse?
And how often do you do the extra abs workout that's included in Max 30?

Have been debating about doing Max 30 or trying P90X which is more strength building. Decided to go for Max 30 for now as you need to have a pull up bar at ho'me for P90X which ive not. :(

FullSteam - do P90X and then we can syart together! I am starting on Thursday when I am 4 weeks post lumpectomy. DH doing it with me. We can compare before and after photos!

So I've just done my first insanity max 30.... Wow it's hard! I maxed out at 6.20 which I didn't think was too bad. Really hard but I loved it!!!!!

It means when you get to the point where you can't go on a second longer, that's your max out time. I took a 1 minute break then got right back into it.

Yes 4 weeks on Thursday - woop! I didn't get the max 30s in the end - I was about to order them and then got my diagnosis so put on hold. I think P90 will work with chemotherapy (not sure why in my head?)

God boobz - 4wks has gone quickly. Prob not for you tho.... I bet you'll feel a lot more like you again when you're exercising. Do be careful tho.

Well done youCan! I bet you feel great now. No shame in max out at 6mins. That's exactly where I maxed on on Friday fight 2 today. He was not kidding when he said it was hard. I am finding mth 2 really hard. No way I'll have conquered it by the time my 4wks are up.
Fullsteam - I class maxing out in the same way as youCan - I can't do anymore and need to take a break, even if it is only a 5sec break. I try to match Shaun t for speed too so I know I'm working as hard each time. Sadly this is not in the slightest bit possible for any of the press ups etc so there I just go as fast as I can. I've actually never done the ab attack dvd Blush but there were abs moves in max strength yesterday and I could do them all so I've not lost ab strength I don't think.
And whoever was doing dynamic core yesterday (spooky?) I remember with dread that v sit/bicycle abs move. That was absolutely hideous and I never got the whole way thru. Ugh.
Right - I'm totally shattered now - was sore after yesterday and even worse now. Must crash on sofa for a bit....

I did feel amazing after but I'm starting to get sore already! Dreading tomorrow morning and tabata power! But I can see me getting addicted to this! I go back to work in 8 weeks and have size 10 uniforms to get in too so it must be done!!!

Hi five youcan and everyone!

Boobz, another good thing about P90 is that its familiar to you and you will know how exercises should feel etc .

Jackster I cheated and did piyo upperbody today as my children are away this eve and dp and I are having a curry so I need the calorie allowance on mfp! I have worked the cals out in advance and they are suspiciously low ... oh well ignorance is bliss ;)

I am switching my mind to Max30 being my next work out as it is better value per workout than Gamma. Unfortunately I can't afford it right now as there seems to be an amazing deal on amazon with another seller for max 30 and sweatfest together for £70...not sure if it is a uk set/legit though.
