A nice recovery run for me this morning, so 3.75 miles to add, making 882.43

stilllearnin · 11/01/2015 11:59

a windy 4 miles this morning (at one point the headwind changed to a side wind and I swear I could feel it going in one ear and out the other!)

892.43

TheSkinnyProject · 11/01/2015 12:31

Couldn't run yesterday but I got out this morning Smile out in the sunshine over the downs and through the woods.

So nice but very hilly so a slow 6 miles from me which makes a total of 855.88

I usually do long run on Saturdays so tomorrows 3 miles will be tough!

TheSkinnyProject · 11/01/2015 12:32

Sorry 898.43. Gah!

Apophenia · 11/01/2015 13:07

Urgh.... I well and truly messed up this morning.

I normally have a Bulletproof Coffee for breakfast then head straight out. But dp unexpectedly slept in this morning and I didn't get out until much later than usual.

My lack of food was so obvious and with the wind as well, I struggled to reach 5k. Sad

AND now I feel sick and dizzy, really unwell.

Apophenia · 11/01/2015 13:08

8 miles from me this morning, my longest ever run. Feeling pretty good right now! Grin Grin

925.26

actiongirl1978 · 11/01/2015 14:39

8 from me this morning, I tried a new route which had very pretty views. I did a couple of weeks without a long run over Xmas so this is me trying to get back up to my 9 and then 10 miles.

925.26

postmanpatsnewyearresolution · 11/01/2015 14:46

Well done edith it's a great feeling!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 11/01/2015 15:07

915.9

I had a lovely, if windswept, sunny run this morning. I was on 8.6 when I got home, so I ran around the block a couple of times to make it up to 9 miles Smile

Was worth missing parkrun yesterday to have such a good run today - and I am also doing dry January (even though not a huge drinker anyway) and felt a real spring in my step today Smile

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 11/01/2015 15:07

Oops x post - had popped away to finish lunch. Revised total 934.26 Smile even better!

originalpiratematerial · 11/01/2015 15:21

Cor, brilliant Edith and OhOne!

I'm really pleased as I did 5.1 miles this morning, furthest I've run in ages and my hip was fine! I was pretty slow - average 10.51 mins per mile - but I'm just dead pleased to have run that far with no twinges.

So that's 939.36.

originalpiratematerial · 11/01/2015 15:22

Apophenia - tell me about Bulletproof Coffee? I know someone who swears by them pre-workout but I'm not too sure what they are, exactly!

IKYTWTLYA · 11/01/2015 15:47

Here's something I read about Bulletproof Coffee via Skeptics Guide to the Universe.

I'm not hugely convinced of the reliability of the site. But what I've read of the Bulletproof Diet doesn't convince me either!

Apophenia · 11/01/2015 15:48

I low carb/high fat, so it fits in well. It's coffee, blended with either (or all!!) butter, coconut oil, or my favourite - cocoa butter(tastes like a mocha then!) you just blend it for ten seconds or so and it turns into a frothy coffee.

It's an acquired taste. When I first started low carbing I could not understand why you would even want to make coffee that way. But it's nice, and keeps me full until lunch. Wink

Apophenia · 11/01/2015 15:50

The bulletproof diet is very different to having one bulletproof coffee a day.

originalpiratematerial · 11/01/2015 15:53

Thanks! Do you have to use particularly good coffee or will instant do? I don't have time in the mornings to faff with proper coffee Blush

Also do you put any supplements in yours?

EdithDickie · 11/01/2015 15:54

Thanks postman Grin

My calfs and ankles are very tired now though which makes me feel very determined to keep it up so I don't actually die or seize up when doing 24 hours endurance thing in May - aiming for 20-25 miles over the course of it!

Apophenia · 11/01/2015 15:56

Regular coffee. No supplements because I eat pretty well anyway - but I don't think there would be any reason why you couldn't do.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 11/01/2015 15:58

pirate thank you. Glad your hip held out - I remember you posting about it when you hurt it.

EdithDickie · 11/01/2015 15:58

The coffee sounds kinda good!

I really like iced coffee - do you think it would work blended with ice as well? A bulletproof slush puppy?

Swallowedbyasnake · 11/01/2015 16:06

I'll add a rainy, windy and horrifingly hungover 3.5, bringing total to 942.86
