3.3 from me this morning.

We got a Labrador puppy a couple of months ago and I'm look forward to running with her, but the advice is that they shouldn't run until they're a year old.

673.85

kiwikaterpillar · 09/01/2015 06:19

6.63 over 2 sessions, didn't get chance to post yesterday.
I make the total now 680.48

Yesterday's session I found hard.... Running into a headwind for the first part really knocked me. Hope next weeks runs are a little easier!

5madthings · 09/01/2015 08:04

Adding my 4 from last night to make 684.48

cinnamongreyhound · 09/01/2015 08:14

Another 4 from me, my goodness it was windy! My friend is having some problems so warned me she hadn't run for a week and her head wasn't in the right place and then she forgot her head torch so we had to walk some bits where we couldn't run next to each other. Feel full of life today though! 688.48

Suzannewithaplan · 09/01/2015 08:16

?I usually run along the coast so often a strong wind.

But it can be used to advantage ?Wink
In cooler weather I try to run the first part into the wind so that the second part of the run feels easy.
In warmer weather I do it the other way round so that I have the relief of the wind cooling me on the way back ?

Tiredemma · 09/01/2015 08:26

clary

no- its probably my maths!!

GertyD · 09/01/2015 09:01

The wine last night won't help but I will do a couple of miles later. Need to run off the kebab that went with the wine!

JapaneseMargaret · 09/01/2015 09:15

I live by the sea in Wellington, aka the windiest city in the world.

Working out the direction to run, and/or where to start and where to finish almost begins to become an obsession. There are times when you could almost lift your feet up and float. Grin

I'm sure that (and the hills) helps with fitness, though!

holmessweetholmes · 09/01/2015 10:34

I live in a windy, rainy, hilly, coastal place too! Cumbria, just below the Lakes and right on the estuary by Morecambe Bay.

Anglaise1 · 09/01/2015 10:36

Only 5 from me today, taking it easy because I'm doing my first and possibly last cross country race on Sunday at the grand old age of 49.
5.635km in the mud, it won't be easy and I'll be one of the oldest runners Shock.

Hello everyone, I'm back! My dodgy left hip seems to have finally got better (touch wood) - I've completed my last three runs without pain. Well, I say "run" - I'm still dropping down to a walk occasionally as (a) run/walk was very successful rehab and (b) I'm not very fit atm Blush.

Anyway, I've just started a new job, so haven't quite got sorted yet to run to/from work (need to take in spare work clothes, shower stuff etc) but hopefully I will get all that sorted next week.

Anyway, three miles this morning, and three miles last Sunday which I don't think I posted. Actually they were both 5 km runs so that's 3.1 miles each isn't it. So that's 699. 68.

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 09/01/2015 10:44

693.48

6 miles to add this morning. Saw lots of runners out this morning. I run the same route almost every time and I can't remember the last time I saw so many people on a weekday..
Good luck with your trail run Anglais. Smile
New total is 699.48

originalpiratematerial · 09/01/2015 10:44

And lovely to "see" everyone again, btw. Cinnamon - how are you doing?

Mitchy1nge · 09/01/2015 10:49

703.48

emummy · 09/01/2015 10:50

3.3 from me today, a very blustery morning in NE Scotland! And why does the wind turn around when I do? Ran in a circle, wind against me all the way!
Anyway, bit of cross posting above I think, so 699.68+ cardiff's 6 + 3.3 is 708.98 I think! Wow, already over 700. Great running everyone!

Mitchy1nge · 09/01/2015 10:51

wait, something has gone wrong between pirate and cardiff's totals

can a grown up sort it out please Blush

emummy · 09/01/2015 10:52

Argh! Maybe 712.98 with Mitchy's, is that right?

Mitchy1nge · 09/01/2015 10:56

yeah that looks right

I can do sums, I could even use a calculator, am just SO LAZY!

Mitchy1nge · 09/01/2015 11:24

and what is wrong with garmin connect and garmin express NOW?

SO ANNOYING

anyone else having problems with it? has been rubbish for ages, think I might defect to Strava

AggressiveBunting · 09/01/2015 12:09

I just got a new Suunto Ambit 3. At the moment it's the world's most expensive stop watch cos I need to sit down and figure how to use it Grin

Anglaise1 · 09/01/2015 12:19

Mitchy My Garmin forerunner frequently dies and has to be re-booted. I haven't manged yet to sync it with my computer because the sync always fails for some reason. I won't be buying another.
Cardiff thanks for your good wishes - it isn't a trail this time, but cross country so very intense and very fast and there will be mostly younger runners. Trail runs are more leisurely and a lot longer and suit oldies like me more, but it will be an experience!

MelanieCheeks · 09/01/2015 12:36

Bit of doggy running here this morning, ran consecutive loops with one dog at a time. So that's another 2.52 from me to make it 715.5

stilllearnin · 09/01/2015 12:36

3.9 from me this morning - slippy and windy but so glad I made it out.

716.88

stilllearnin · 09/01/2015 12:44

X post 719.4

cinnamongreyhound · 09/01/2015 13:31

I'm doing well thanks for asking originalpiratematerial! I'm slowing but still average 10-10.30min miles, get breathless up hills easier but if I run with my dogs attached I find I can run faster Wink. I'm 28 weeks on Monday and baby is very active but I rarely feel him when running and I feel best when I'm running, comfort wise. I also feel better for a run even when I'm tired. Lucky I have a couple of running buddies who don't mind my slowing pace and I can keep up at my canicross club so far. My parkrun is around 30mins but I can still chat while doing that time so I'm happy. Getting asked how long I'm carrying on by EVERYONE around when I'm running now!
