2.75 miles. I don't normally go to 2 decimal places but it was so hard I will this time. 716.75

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 24/12/2014 17:03

2.5 from me Smile

Well done on your hard run Halle

emummy your route sounds amazing!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/12/2014 07:39

Merry Christmas runners!

yes indeed:o
10.23 from me today = 729.48

Anglaise1 · 25/12/2014 18:15

11 from Sam the border collie and me. Nice mild dry weather then a big lunch with OH's family. I haven't got my children this year so Christmas is effort free but not so much fun of course.

Signed up to a Boxing Day 10k.
10am start time

Um why did I sign up to this again?! Oh that's it. The novelty medal Blush

emummy · 26/12/2014 08:50

I know what you mean ecky! My Boxing Day run is just a 5k. I'm looking out at a seriously frosty morning and wondering if I'm just going to be skating round! And I don't think we get a medal, although there is talk of soup....

standingonlego · 26/12/2014 08:53

I wish I had a Boxing Day run !

emummy · 26/12/2014 09:02

Just pop up to Aberdeenshire, standing, shouldn't take you too long!

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 26/12/2014 09:22

Help!

There are Fitbits and Garmin Forerunner 10s on the Lightning deals on Amazon thus morning - what say you my merry running friends?

feetheart · 26/12/2014 09:23

3.2 mile Boxing Day race for DS and I today.
We don't get a medal either though we do get beer...and a prize for the best excuse as to why you ran badly :)

feetheart · 26/12/2014 09:23

Love my Garmin. HTH :)

Anglaise1 · 26/12/2014 09:55

My Garmin with GPS is much more accurate than my Fitbit one for measuring distance. I'd go for the Garmin.

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 26/12/2014 10:05

Upon a little research it seems that the Fitbit doesn't have GPS.
So I ordered a 10, at £59 seemed like a good deal Grin

Thanks feet and anglaise
And enjoy your run later feet, I'm looking forward to using my swanky new barcode wristband tomorrow at parkrun!

Suzannewithaplan · 26/12/2014 12:05

Personally I'd not consider getting a sports watch without at least GPS and heart rate monitor functions.
There are some very expensive models available with elaborate bells and whistles the utility of which I am a little?Hmm

actiongirl1978 · 26/12/2014 12:06

Adding on two veeeeerrry slow very hard miles. We have all come down with a hideous cough, my husband is at deaths door, my daughter looked pale all Xmas so frankly the fact I made it out is better than nothing!

Still I have a 10k organised run to look forward to on Sunday!

My best present? My children gave me some ankle weights! My second best present? New lululemon running shorts from MIL!

Loving the running presents!

742.5

Suzannewithaplan · 26/12/2014 12:13

Ooh err take it easy Actiongirl (and anyone else in similar predicament) we don't want you making it worse and hindering your longer term mileage contributions!

?

emummy · 26/12/2014 12:15

Survived! Pb of 28:58, and it was -4 so the soup was very welcome!
Hope you're all better soon actiongirl
745.6

feetheart · 26/12/2014 14:31

Survived here too and better time than last year even if DS struggled a bit and we had to walk a few times - he still took off near the end and beat me by 11 seconds though Hmm He got first (and possibly only) in his age category too.
Beer was alcohol-free lager this year so I didn't bother.

Anglaise1 · 26/12/2014 14:42

Congrats on your PB emummy and well done feet on your 10k. Sorry the beer was alcohol free, why??
We had mulled wine after my last 10k a few weeks ago.
7k from me and my running buddies today. So with feet's 10k (maybe more with a warm up??) the running total is
762.6

cinnamongreyhound · 26/12/2014 17:35

Well done to all running today!! My doggy running group were split and went at 8.30 (I'd just woken up) and 2.30 (I was in the cinema) so no run for me!

originalpiratematerial · 26/12/2014 18:20

Hello all, sorry not been here for ages but do have a total of 12 miles to add to the December tally!

karatekimmi · 26/12/2014 21:03

I managed 5.8 with my club today, but parkrun is looking iffy tomorrow - we've had snow and more is focussed

780.4 with pirate's (I think, my head hurts!!)

feetheart · 26/12/2014 21:04

Better take 3.1 miles off the total as I only did a 5k, 10 really would have been bonkers Xmas Smile

759.5

feetheart · 26/12/2014 21:05

Oops, x-posted

777.3 I think.
