Open for any runners, or any runners looking to get their 'mojo' back.

I have a 10k on Sunday which I am feeling less than prepared for, and the stomach bug is just adding to that. I have a feeling I will be the slowest runner!

Good muddy run in the woods this morning, was a bit slow but I didn't stop on any of the hills so pleased with that.

I'm really really really cheerful! Thank you! Cooking for friends tonight and just bouncing around the kitchen remembering when I used to need some recovery time after running 10 miles, am appreciating my fitness (as far as it goes!)

standingonlego · 01/11/2014 12:22

What a fabulous start to the month Smile. Really liking the cheerfulness on the thread, running in the autumn sunshine is good for the soul Grin

ScienceRocks · 01/11/2014 12:42

I have a park run to add too, so 30.5 miles is the new total, though do deduct my 3.1 miles if needed because I walked for about four lots of ten seconds along the way. My defence is that I haven't run since Tuesday (and that wasn't a good run), and it was raining and muddy this morning. Last week I ran it about a minute faster, but it was all on paths and was a glorious but chilly day.

MirandaWest · 01/11/2014 13:46

Sorry Mitchy BlushGrin.

Just got my parkrun result - was 29 min exactly. Am pleased with that - fastest 5k I've done in ages.

And there was a course record - 394 people Grin

ThursdayOfTheLivingDead · 01/11/2014 14:11

No way science if you make it round you add it on!
All of us here have days where walking is necessary - and I believe it's much better to recognise your limits that push too hard and injure yourself.

I ran with a friend on her first parkruns and in a fit of enthusiasm we've signed up for the forst 10k of the year, on Feb 1st Grin

ThursdayOfTheLivingDead · 01/11/2014 14:11

Flipping heck excuse typos

ThursdayOfTheLivingDead · 01/11/2014 14:13

Sorry miranda I didn't mean to ignore your acheivement! 29 mins is a great time

feetheart · 01/11/2014 15:40

Cracking start to the new month people :)

3.1 to add from me from the VERY tough Tring inaugural parkrun - beautiful course on a beautiful day but, oh my lord, the hills Shock

33.6

lego - do you run with a club and if so are they part of the Three Counties Cross Country league? Am up your way for a race next Sunday I think.

cinnamongreyhound · 01/11/2014 17:45

I have a parkrun to add, so much fun with lots of fancy dress, decorations and chocolate!! We got rained on though, sun didn't come out until later :( I did it in 30mins dead so not bad, with some chatting too!

I'm hoping to do cross country on 16th nov feetheart but it's not county.

36.7, fantastic start to November and well done everyone on all their fab runs :)

actiongirl1978 · 01/11/2014 17:47

Two rubbish intervally miles from me, had planned 10k but no part of my body wanted to play ball. I did add in three hill sprints into the mix as well.

So 35.6.

I have had two weeks without seeing my PT who has raised my fitness levels so much and the very swotty bit of me wants to be able to go to my next PT session with no drop in fitness and a list of things I have been doing for two weeks, so quite cross I didn't make a distance this morning!

ScienceRocks · 01/11/2014 17:47

My park run was 35minutes 40seconds, a minute longer than last weekend's (different course, different weather). I am in awe of all you speed merchants.

actiongirl1978 · 01/11/2014 17:49

Ah, I was clearly typing at the same time as cinnamon! So make that 38.7!

And yes to the gloriousness of running in Autumn sunshine with the smell of leaves!

standingonlego · 01/11/2014 18:37

feetheart not part of a club, but they sometimes do the cross country in my local "non park run" park - pm me more details - maybe we can cheer you on :)

Top running everyone Grin

standingonlego · 01/11/2014 18:40

Random question - saw these on my run this morning, should I have picked them for lunchtime omelette or would I have poisoned myself? Confused

standingonlego · 01/11/2014 18:41

These....

ThursdayOfTheLivingDead · 01/11/2014 18:42

No idea. If in doubt though, keep on running...

cinnamongreyhound · 01/11/2014 19:02

No idea and not worth the risk imo, we've been on a funghi walk in our local country park but I'm still none the wiser!!

No slinking anywhere ScienceRocks, your time is all that matters and that you got off the sofa and hopefully enjoyed yourself!

standingonlego · 01/11/2014 20:58

That was my theory too...just on by and not risk it Smile

karatekimmi · 02/11/2014 06:18

Morning, my parkrun time was 38m and 45s, be proud sciencerocks!!
you did awesome!! The more you practise, the better you'll get!!

Just the 3.1 to add from me, a nice rest day for me today.

41.8

TheBigBumTheory · 02/11/2014 08:57

Well done to all parkrunnners, it's not about speed-it's about getting fit and feeling good. And the bacon roll and unlimited coffee deal after at our one Grin

I've just done a 3.2miles on my own for a change. Not nearly as much fun but people are away on holiday for half term, and dd1 is running a 10 mile race later, so she couldn't join me either.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/11/2014 10:43

Someone posted a link a while ago to a maternity running top and I've scrolled back but can't find it and can't remember who it was, any ideas?

HalleLouja · 02/11/2014 11:07

KarateKimmi posted this one.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/11/2014 11:45

Thank you Smile

emummy · 02/11/2014 12:03

Nice easy run this morning, beautiful day. So 6.1 from me plus 3.2 from TheBigBumTheory makes 51.1 I think
