Open for any runners, or any runners looking to get their 'mojo' back.

I have a 10k on Sunday which I am feeling less than prepared for, and the stomach bug is just adding to that. I have a feeling I will be the slowest runner!

Thanks for encouragement! Will look for a physio (unless anyone knows a good one in South Buckinghamshire?!) and try a gentle run! I never thought I could miss it as much as I do. Smile

MirandaWest · 20/10/2014 18:37

I run more on my own although DP does like running with me.

Think I've tempted DS into doing a park run on Saturday. Have no idea how he'll be as he's not too good at sustained running. But hopefully we won't be too bad Smile

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/10/2014 10:24

Pumble is Milton Keynes too far for you?

BlueChampagne · 21/10/2014 11:54

Pumble you could try posting on MN local (if you haven't already).

Mitchy1nge · 21/10/2014 13:08

623.1

should have been 10k but I ran 3m then walked the other 3 (thanks achilles Hmm) and it's fucking disgusting weather for a walk!

ThursdayOfTheLivingDead · 21/10/2014 13:23

Jeez I only had two days off and you lot have filled up so many pages!

Just did a vvvv windswept 5miles, taking us to 628.1. The roads with high hedges were ok, but the half a mike across footpaths in the middle of fields felt like an eternity. My eyes and nose were streaming!

You ok mitchy?
Tess this weekend!?

Mitchy1nge · 21/10/2014 13:26

argh the wind was AWFUL here too! am ok thanks, it just niggles, walking really really helps so am saving self for the Long Runs and trying not to worry that weekly mileage might be a bit low for a half marathon, but am taking a friend round for her first ever half and we just want to finish (and lots of people are walking the entire route) so it's not very competitive

feetheart · 21/10/2014 13:42

Really glad I went out first thing as wind wasn't too bad.
Only did 2.5 miles as needed toilet stop so came home Blush

631.6

TessTackle · 21/10/2014 13:48

I wimped out of a run today Grin nearly got blown over just walking to school. So ran wedding errands instead and now I'm curled up with a gingerbread latte Smile

Yes, Saturday Thursday doing her hair trial tonight and finally meeting fiancés sister, can't wait!

MirandaWest · 21/10/2014 13:54

Am quite glad I didn't run today given the wind. I did do day one of the 30 day shred though (finally opened the dvd Blush) so haven't been totally lazy.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/10/2014 14:03

My friend is working tonight so I was going to wimp out but someone else wants company so I'm going! Hope the wind dies down!

zombiesheep · 21/10/2014 15:04

Thanks for all your replies everyone, they were a great help!

Keeping to a healthy diet with carbs such as brown rice/pasta, quino and some bread whilst also keeping everything full fat. Gonna cut down on processed foods, quit the shit :o and up the fruit and veg! Also need to cut out my costa habit Hmm

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/10/2014 18:44

2.7 miles from me before I started to cough too much to run. I didn't think I'd even get that far, so just ran laps of the park by my house so I didn't have to worry about getting home afterwards.

634.3

cinnamongreyhound · 21/10/2014 20:30

That sucks OhOneOhTwoOhThree! I'm not sure if I'm struggling because of my cold or my pregnancy! Hope you get well soon!

4 miles from me with a couple of stops! 638.3

LaughingM · 21/10/2014 21:07

2.5 very windy miles from this evening and the same from last week that I forgot to add, so

643.3

TessTackle · 22/10/2014 09:40

So cold!

MirandaWest · 22/10/2014 10:25

Been out for a run this morning. Only 3k or 1.88 miles so total is 645.2

Have started doing the 30 day shred so muscles were a little achy this morning. Would like to get a bit more toned and this seems a way to go about it. My weights are coming with Shaun the DPD man as I type Grin

TessTackle · 22/10/2014 10:45

5.2 from me this morning. It's so cold, I had to wait for my hands to warm up before I could post ffs!

I'm tempted to start the shred again Miranda I much prefer running, but alone it's not enough to shift the Jelly gut!

IrianofWay · 22/10/2014 10:52

5.36 miles last night. My legs were like lead to start with and I am sure if I'd been alone I'd have given up. After a mile and a couple of hills I got my mojo back. But I did it in just over 56 mins. Foot gave me not a twinge Grin

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 22/10/2014 11:38

Another 3.1 from me. I took DH with me to the Parkrun route, he managed 2 laps and I went for the third to complete the route. I forgot to start my stopwatch on the first lap, but it took him 13 mins for his second lap so that would be a 39 min Parkrun which I think is perfectly fine (although I would possibly add another 5 mins or so as he will obviously get tired - which is still not a problem if he wanted to do a real Parkrun)

Im joining a gym next week so going to mix it up a bit with some classes. Not sure which ones to choose just yet. The choices are Spinning, Insanity, HIIT, Kettlebells, boxercise to name a few. I would like to do either Pilates or Yoga. Which one would people recommend?

So with Tess Irian and my times makes us 658.9 I think

MirandaWest · 22/10/2014 11:39

I just looked back to see when I bought the shred dvd and discovered it was January 2011. I opened it yesterday Blush.

TessTackle · 22/10/2014 11:48

Grin I bought mine last year, got halfway through level 2, was on all the threads etc and then though "bollocks to this, I hate jm" haha

MirandaWest · 22/10/2014 12:40

Not sure how long my enthusiasm will last (especially as I'll be going away to work in a couple of weeks time and will be staying with my mum and dad. Don't really want to do that in their living room Grin. Although running is fine :)

ThursdayOfTheLivingDead · 22/10/2014 13:38

I do a bit of jillian Michaels when I want to do something short! I find it a bit repetitive but the ache in my arms the following day makes it worthwhile.
It's great for breaking out of the running rut, which is FAB don't get me wrong, but not very rounded.

6.5 miles from me this lunchtime. In 1.05, I don't know why but I really didn't find any kind of stride until about 3miles in. Oh well

665.4

Upper body today is dealing with 92nd centile 18mo Grin

Mitchy1nge · 22/10/2014 14:08

5 indescribably enjoyable miles (and I was SO GRUMPY about driving somewhere especially just to find a paved/road route I was prepared to run on) 670.4 thanks running gods :)
