Open for any runners, or any runners looking to get their 'mojo' back.

I have a 10k on Sunday which I am feeling less than prepared for, and the stomach bug is just adding to that. I have a feeling I will be the slowest runner!

3.4 from me this morning - a bit plodding after Sunday's 10K but better than nothing Smile

426.3

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 15/10/2014 11:57

Oops, x-post with Mitchy (keep meaning to say it's nice to see you back again).

431.3

Mitchy1nge · 15/10/2014 11:59

:) thank you :)

Morrigu · 15/10/2014 12:12

3.3 very windy miles. I despise the wind and seemed to be running into it nearly the whole way.

That would have weirded me out too Mitchy

429.6

Morrigu · 15/10/2014 12:12

Missed a post 434.6 even

IrianofWay · 15/10/2014 14:26

5 miles last night in 49 minutes! Fastest I've managed yet Grin Was a club run but the slower people that I normally run with weren't there so I did the first 2 miles with a much faster group but after a while I had to tell them to carry on so I could slow down a little!! Ran the rest on my own and recovered speed after about another mile, but still very pleased with the time.

Weird indigestiony feeling all night and breathlessness. Was worried I'd done some damage to my ticker...until I realised it was probably more to do with the huuuuge cheese and home-made pickled onion sandwich I ate for my dinner just before I went to bed...

BigglesFliesUndone · 15/10/2014 15:16

I've just started a half marathon training programme Shock so did 30 minutes last night - 2.6 miles in 30 mins which wasn't too shabby Grin

originalpiratematerial · 15/10/2014 18:07

2.8 miles from me today, first run this week Blush so that's 437.4 I think. But I don't think Biggles or Irian have added theirs...

originalpiratematerial · 15/10/2014 18:07

Whoops 436.4

originalpiratematerial · 15/10/2014 18:08

Oh feck I really can't work it out. Can someone who can count please help me?

hipsdontlieunfortunately · 15/10/2014 18:16

Can I join in? Started running in August at my local park run and am now most definitely addicted. Ran home from work last night - 5.4miles to add to total which would bring us to 440

cinnamongreyhound · 15/10/2014 18:19

449.4 originalpiratematerial with the others who didn't add and yours and hipsdontlieunfortunately after. Don't panic Wink

EdithDickie · 15/10/2014 20:02

Wow Irian impressive pace!

4 miles for me tonight.

EdithDickie · 15/10/2014 20:03

453.4

BigglesFliesUndone · 15/10/2014 20:54

another 2.7 from me!

LaughingM · 15/10/2014 22:14

Hi all! Tentatively waving at everyone in here… I've just finished c25k so I feel like I can finally call myself a runner Grin. However, I'm finding it much more difficult to keep up the motivation in the cold and rain, so hoping checking in in here will give me a bit of a kick up the backside boost.

Mitchy1nge · 15/10/2014 22:17

hi LaughingM, it's almost like it doesn't count if I haven't logged it on Garmin and mentioned it on here Grin

Mitchy1nge · 15/10/2014 22:20

what do you plan to do each week, is c25k 30 mins 3x a week, will you keep up with the routine you are already in?

TessTackle · 15/10/2014 22:36

5.43 from me, so with Biggles I make it 461.53

LaughingM · 15/10/2014 22:40

Yes, c25k has been 3x a week, but it actually takes me about 40 mins to run 5k. Plan is to do two 30 minutes runs during the week and then a longer (ish!) run over the weekend building up about 5 minutes a week till I get to 10k. When I build up my confidence I might try some intervals as well to try and work on my speed a bit. I'm looking forward to seeing my progress but getting out the door is the hardest bit at the mo!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/10/2014 22:46

Get yourself to a parkrun laughingM!

Mitchy1nge · 15/10/2014 22:53

the first 30 seconds are definitely the hardest, even now sometimes and I'm addicted to running and sulk on my 2 days off

can you treat yourself to some new bits of kit or other running related stuff so it's exciting to get out and use it?

emummy · 16/10/2014 07:51

2.2 from me this morning, first run in the dark, thanks to school holidays, need to go out before dh leaves for work. Was nice, chilly though! So 463.73. Will wait till Saturday to run now as want to run in the woods and don't fancy that in the dark!

ThursdayLast · 16/10/2014 07:56

Morning all, I haven't any miles to add as have been touristing around London this week - including a visit to the ENORMOUS sports direct on Oxford Street.
So when I get home I'm v keen to wear my lovely and cheap new full length leggings and my lovely and expensive dazzling hi vis yellow Nike top Grin

HalleLouja · 16/10/2014 09:48

Waves at Laughing welcome to the mad house.

Am going to Run Club. Well that's if the husband gets back in time........ He should be if the plane lands on time.
