Open for any runners, or any runners looking to get their 'mojo' back.

I have a 10k on Sunday which I am feeling less than prepared for, and the stomach bug is just adding to that. I have a feeling I will be the slowest runner!

18.5 last week taking us to 393.8. Got a cold now so planning an easy week (running-wise at least). Nice 10 miler on Friday though.

Blatherskite · 13/10/2014 15:48

Yes you can Mitchy. I haven't done it personally but a know a few people who've taken some seriously muddy shoes back.

I helped out at the Beginners group again this morning and then did some hill repeats. Need to upload my garmin to work out how far I went.

Mitchy1nge · 13/10/2014 16:30

thanks blathers will take them tomorrow when they might at least be dry

am otherwise quite pleased with them but they could be a bit more flexible

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/10/2014 19:47

feet yes, Bedford half on 7 December. Come with us! I did it last year and there are two big hills, but what goes up must come down too Grin

feetheart · 13/10/2014 20:52

Ohone - definitely tempted but need to survive Luton half first :)
Is that where you got your yellow bag?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/10/2014 21:18

It is indeed. I loooove that bag Grin and it has become my race bag. It even has my safety pins pinned to the strap so they are always to hand. This year the goody is a hat Grin. But I already have an amazing fluorescent (sp?) fleece hat from a HM I did back in June. I think the Harriers make a point of not giving you yet another tee-shirt.

The 10K I did yesterday was flogging the tee-shirts for a tenner. So I didn't bother. There was an email today saying they had some left...still for a tenner. Still not tempted Grin.

standingonlego · 13/10/2014 21:30

Inspired by my run yesterday now thinking about the Bedford half...shall we just go for it feet and join OhOne

EdithDickie · 13/10/2014 21:40

4 for me tonight.

397.8

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/10/2014 21:53

Yay lego go for it. We can relive our wolef glory Grin

emummy · 14/10/2014 09:37

A wee 2 miles today, contained hill repeats though, still feel out of breath! So 399.8

TessTackle · 14/10/2014 11:22

Thread won't bloody load. 4 days off and then 4.66 today, ouch!
Wedding is less than 2 weeks away now, tried my dress back on this weekend and it fits a hundred times better. Still need to lose a good couple pounds though!

Mitchy1nge · 14/10/2014 17:36

changed my shoes, sweatshop were great despite the muddy wetness

3 miles to add, will attempt to do A Sum to see what our total is

went for similar length walk after run because feeling sorry for self and saw our barn owl, dead, possibly shot, and have been ridiculously inconsolable ever since. Have reported it, hopefully it was an accident. She had lots of babies that have just started coming out and lining up on branches, being amazing.

Mitchy1nge · 14/10/2014 17:37

407.46 with Tess's?

EdithDickie · 14/10/2014 17:40

Oh Mitchy that's sad about the owl Sad

I have a 2.5 mile lunchtime run to add. Am too stupid to add that in my head though...

Mitchy1nge · 14/10/2014 17:41

409.96?

EdithDickie · 14/10/2014 17:41

409.96 I think

EdithDickie · 14/10/2014 17:41

Great minds!

Mitchy1nge · 14/10/2014 17:43

Morrigu · 14/10/2014 18:17

Sad to the poor owl and her babies. Isn't it illegal to shoot owls over here?

Just a little 5k to add 413.06. Was very disheartened that after a month off my time has been pretty crap but actually knocked a minute off it today. Still no-where near my best but at least it's heading in the right direction.

Mitchy1nge · 14/10/2014 18:30

It might have been an accident, there was a clay shoot. Although I struggle to imagine how you'd mistake an owl for a clay disc. Farmer was shaken, everyone is so fond of the barn owls, but he said in the stewardship magazine thing there was something about people shooting kestrels to protect game raised for commercial shoots. It is all so horrible.

cinnamongreyhound · 15/10/2014 07:33

I love owls, often see them in the early hours on my way back from babysitting, very sad :(

Very reluctant to get up at 5.30 but I did and feel better for my run, quite a plodding 4 miles from me but I'm slightly less congested!!!

417.06

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 15/10/2014 09:19

2.8 miles from me this morning so that's 419.8

The C25K+ speed podcast is getting easier too.

Taking DH to our local parkrun route tomorrow morning just to see how far or how long it takes him. He's been stuck on week 4 of C25K for a few weeks now, but managed it yesterday.

feetheart · 15/10/2014 09:23

Biscuits - I found Wk4 the hardest week of the whole programme, it seemed a big jump from Wk 3 to Wk4. That was over 5 years ago and I am 10 days away from my 3rd half marathon :)

MirandaWest · 15/10/2014 09:59

3.1 miles this morning - had a couple of days off as have had odd virus thing. Was worried my legs wouldn't want to keep going but managed it in under 30 min so feel ok Smile

422.9

Mitchy1nge · 15/10/2014 11:56

5 brave solo road miles, loved every step (actually I went off road for the final mile after weirdo on moped stretched his arm out towards me when he passed Hmm creepy) roads are much easier to run on, my pace looks almost respectable for once!

so 427.9
