Open for any runners, or any runners looking to get their 'mojo' back.

I have a 10k on Sunday which I am feeling less than prepared for, and the stomach bug is just adding to that. I have a feeling I will be the slowest runner!

I WANT A T SHIRT SO BAD

cinnamongreyhound · 11/10/2014 21:03

It'll come round quick ThursdayLast!

ThursdayLast · 11/10/2014 21:09

What DP doesn't know cinnamon is that after we are married in April we will probably TTC.
What comes first - the tshirt or the DC2??? Haha. Well you got your tshirt, excellent priorities Wink

Blatherskite · 11/10/2014 21:10

It's amazing how fast those t-shirts come round. It feels like you'll be waiting forever and then all of a sudden you're on the countdown... Once it becomes a weekly thing, they build up quickly.

Doesn't feel like all that long ago that I was almost at 50 parkruns and now I'm 14 runs off getting my 100 shirt!

cinnamongreyhound · 11/10/2014 21:11

Can I ask some advice please? My trail shoes are starting to show signs of wear, I don't know how many miles they've done but I got them for Christmas last year so probably a good 400+miles as I do most of my miles off road. I'm a bit unsure about buying a new pair of trainers as I'm about to change size, shape etc and perhaps not use them for too long before having a break and perhaps having a totally different gait when I'm back. So should I just get them to last or get a new pair? Dh wants me to have new ones for my birthday but I don't want it to be a waste of money.

ThursdayLast · 11/10/2014 21:11

Show off Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 11/10/2014 21:14

24 Saturday's before April ThursdayLast so t-shirt for sure!

ThursdayLast · 11/10/2014 21:14

I have adidas Kanadias from Sports Direct cinnamon. I think they were £25. I haven't had a pair of better/more expensive trail shoes, but I get on with them pretty well. They are very firm, took a bit of getting used to, ut I never fall over or slip.
Perhaps they would do as a stop gap?

ThursdayLast · 11/10/2014 21:15

Haha I actually spent a few minutes recently counting the Saturdays between now and 11th April Blush

cinnamongreyhound · 11/10/2014 21:19

I'll have a look thanks! Well an extra one then as I didn't count 4th April Wink we might have our big days on the same day! Would love to only be 5 days overdue Grin

Blatherskite · 11/10/2014 21:24

It's only showing off on here because you lot get the t-shirt obsession. Most people in real life just look at me gone out :)

I also have the Adidas Kanadias. They're cheap and cheerful but then I don't tend to do very much trail running. I'd suggest going and getting some proper advice in a running shop cinnamon. Pregnancy will be causing all of your joints to soften and stretch - your feet as well as your hips - and the last thing you want to do it give yourself a strain by running in shoes that aren't supporting you properly.

Aha! You're due an Easter baby! DS was supposed to be one of those but he really wasn't that bothered about arriving at all.
Blathers these thread are MADE for sort-of-showing-off. We get it. And we're pleased for everyone. I was BEREFT when I couldn't update post-parkrun this morning Grin

Blatherskite · 11/10/2014 21:56

100 is going to be the last celebration for a long, long time too! Next club is 250 so it's going to be 3 years or more before I get another one!!

According to the parkrun page, I reached 50 on November 9th 2013. I should be at 90 by the beginning of November this year and part of me wonders where the missing 12 weeks have gone as it feels like I've run every week.

cinnamongreyhound · 11/10/2014 21:59

Volunteering? I think I've only missed 4 or 5 Saturday's out of 83 but am only on 53 so that would be 25 volunteering stints for me :)

Mitchy1nge · 12/10/2014 08:17

good luck postmanpatscat

emummy · 12/10/2014 10:41

What a beautiful morning! A nice slow run in chilly 5 degrees, on quiet country roads and through woods, just great. 6.9 miles, not sure of the total.

emummy · 12/10/2014 10:42

Ah, found it, 283.9

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 12/10/2014 11:34

Brilliant run this morning, really enjoyed it. 5.4 miles. Was only going out for 4, but was enjoying myself so added a bit more on. Loving the country views too, but annoyed with myself as I didn't think to take my phone and it was perfect to take a picture of the view on my run. Will try to remember another day. I had to stop to enjoy the view when I was 2.5 miles in and had a little sing to myself to Oh What A Beautiful Morning.

I want a T-shirt too. Ive been doing Parkrun since December 2012, but only have 30 something runs under my belt.

289.3

postmanpatscat · 12/10/2014 14:44

Made it! Ok so I was last in our team but was the oldest female at 46 and older than all of the guys too except for DP. My time was 2:12. The first 8 miles were easy then after 10 I started to tire and slowed down a bit. The crowd were great but some people need to learn that just because you've turned up to support one runner it doesn't mean you can ignore everyone else!

postmanpatscat · 12/10/2014 14:45

Sorry 302.4 now!

Blatherskite · 12/10/2014 15:00

I've volunteered 7 times so far this year cinnamon and will do 1 more before that week in November. I suppose 4 weeks off over a year isn't bad Wink

I can add 3.1 miles for parkrun yesterday and another 9 miles from this morning. I've run more in the past 2 days than in the previous 10 this month!

Total is now 314.5

HalleLouja · 12/10/2014 15:03

308.6 a 10k in 58.04. Those hills feet were a killer. 2k almost to the metre. Seeing as that was over 4 minutes faster than Whipsnade I am well chuffed.

HalleLouja · 12/10/2014 15:05

Well done postman. The support at Herts was good this morning plenty of cheering. Especially at the end.

Blatherskite · 12/10/2014 15:12

You missed my miles Hallelouja. We should be on 320.7 now

BigglesFliesUndone · 12/10/2014 15:30

i just did a not very fab 3 miles. I want the grit of last weeks 10k to return Grin so different running alone!
