Open for any runners, or any runners looking to get their 'mojo' back.

I have a 10k on Sunday which I am feeling less than prepared for, and the stomach bug is just adding to that. I have a feeling I will be the slowest runner!

Just did a bit of a laboured 5! I thought after my amazing 10k Wink I would be off caning a massive run! ah well...

emummy · 10/10/2014 12:54

3 from me, a really fun run through the woods in the sunshine, so with Biggles'5 I think that's 232.7, assuming you meant 5 miles Biggles

BigglesFliesUndone · 10/10/2014 13:57

Blush k I'm afraid Blush

MirandaWest · 10/10/2014 15:25

My runs only go up to 5k Biggles Smile

Morrigu · 10/10/2014 15:32

Just a quick hello and marking place again. Have been huffing about being unable to run first with the sore shin then caught a horrible cough off the dc that took ages to clear up so avoided this thread Grin Got back to it this week after nearly a month off. Will catch up later and add whatever it is you are adding. Miles?

cinnamongreyhound · 10/10/2014 16:13

Hi Morrigu, good to see you again! Yes miles, seems to be everyone's favourite :)

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 10/10/2014 17:00

No miles to add today unfortunately but my race number and timing chip for the Great South Run arrived today, two weeks to go!! Aaaaarrgh!!

originalpiratematerial · 10/10/2014 17:41

5.64 miles over two days for me, so that's 238.3 I think.

Hips are bloody achey again Hmm. Am I just getting too old Hmm.

EdithDickie · 10/10/2014 18:48

Wow Cardiff! How are you feeling about it?

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 10/10/2014 20:16

Edith, I am incredibly nervous and also incredibly excited!
My last long training run is on Sunday and it should be fairly close to the race distance so I think I am well prepared. Fingers crossed! Grin

Blatherskite · 10/10/2014 22:46

OK, it seems I am finally feeling better. Hooray!

I can add just 11 miles for the month so far but am hoping to get back into things now I'm not feeling constantly run down any more. So that gets us to 249.3

Hopefully, I'll carry on feeling OK and will be able to run a descent time at the Great Birmingham Run next weekend. I ended up finishing the Nottingham half in a very annoying 2:00:06! I'm not sure Birmingham will be much better as it has a nasty hill at mile 11 but at least I'll have an excuse. Nottingham was almost flat so it was only me feeling poorly that stopped me from getting a better time. Might have to enter that one again next year just to do a better job.

HalleLouja · 11/10/2014 14:22

Nottingham itself isn't flat Blathers am assuming the race course is though.

EdithDickie · 11/10/2014 16:50

I'm sure that your preparation will stand you in good stead Cardiff - will be rooting for you Smile

Glad you are feeling better Blathers

Park Run for me today so 3.1 miles to add. New PB Grin 33 minutes 2 seconds.

EdithDickie · 11/10/2014 16:51

252.4

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 11/10/2014 16:56

Parkrun today so thats another 3.1 from me. First time Ive ran for over a week. Hopefully I will be able to go out a bit more this week onwards.

255.5

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 11/10/2014 16:57

Well done Edith

Mitchy1nge · 11/10/2014 18:06

259.75 with my 4.25

postmanpatscat · 11/10/2014 18:31

4 miles on the treadmill last night makes 263.75

I will have 13.1 to add by about 11.15am tomorrow though - yikes! I do not feel ready and I already know I'm going to be the last one in Sad However, the team has raised over £5000 so I don't really care if I'm the slowest.

IrianofWay · 11/10/2014 18:46

Did my first 10k run for a few years in preparation for my race in 2 weeks. It took 66 mins which is a bit crappy but I did include a few bastard hills.

ThursdayLast · 11/10/2014 19:24

Good luck postmanpatscat!
I'm actually jealous - I really wish I hadn't bottled the training for my local half

Well done Edith, gotta love that PB feeling Smile. I was a way away from my own PB, but I'm excited to be in the 20s.

The more you practice on hills irian the easier the races seem. That's my experience anyway. The bastards are cruel, but kind in the long run!

Hello everyone else!
Adding my parkrun and Irian 10k I make our total 273

Blatherskite · 11/10/2014 19:35

You're right *Hallelouja", Nottingham itself has some nasty hills but they somehow managed to find an almost flat half marathon route avoiding them all :) It had a few inclined but nothing that I'd call a hill. It's touted as a PB course which is why I was so annoyed as I went all out and was still 2 minutes behind my PB when I'd done loads more training and should have been able to go faster.

Birmingham is a much tougher course and I've had 2 weeks off training while I got over whatever it was so I'm not likely to PB there either. I'm actually considering signing up for another half before the end of the year just so that I can finish on a high!

standingonlego · 11/10/2014 20:11

Sneaking in to say....6 months until Spring WOLF run...Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 11/10/2014 20:18

Good news Blatherskite! 2:00:06 is really annoying but fantastic!! Good luck with Birmingham. Don't beat yourself up about it not being a PB when you were poorly!

Well done EdithDickie!!

I'm sure you'll be fab postmanpatscat! Last in a HMonth is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of they are bloody hard!

4 miles for me, 3.1 parkrun and running to and from and to take signs in. Had a great parkrun today, really enjoyed it and ran to and from which I haven't done for ages. My cold finally came out fully this morning so I was going for a potter and hope to be around 32min but once I got going I was alright and beat last weeks time :) had one lady tell me I've got extra legs to help me now as my club mate is telling everyone who'll listen that I'm pregnant!

277

EdithDickie · 11/10/2014 20:19

Good luck postmanpat!!

Thursday I dream of being down in the 20s! Have progressed from 12 to 11 minute miles so one day...

ThursdayLast · 11/10/2014 20:35

edith I meant it was my 21st parkrun! Which is nearly 25. Which is basically 50 right?
