New thread for park runners old and new. Who's running at home and away this weekend? Who's volunteering?

I loved it Grin Grin

34 minutes 42 seconds and I only walked about 50 yards up a very steep bit. Really pleased Grin

I definitely want to go again. And dd (4) says she would like to try it one day too.

HalleLouja · 06/09/2014 18:59

Another PB . 26.49. Slowly getting faster. It did nearly kill me (in a good way) to do it that quick.

Well done Lego , Aunty and Edith.

Good luck to anyone doing the Wolf run tomorrow. I might do the next one you lot do. Am a bit mental like that.......

cinnamongreyhound · 06/09/2014 19:34

Yay, well done StandingonLego!

That's lovely ThursdayLast, mine is really a family now :)

Yay for your dc Holmessweetholmes!

Well done AuntyDiluvian, EdithDickie and HalleLouja!

I was RD today with my trainee, she did a lot more today and has or herself down for one on her own in October with me as timekeeper :) so that should mean I'm only RD every 6 weeks instead of 5 :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 06/09/2014 20:23

Evening all Smile

Well done to all runners, children, volunteers and hangers on Grin and welcome to new people I haven't said hello to.

Halle I will try to get down to you one of these weekends when feet is up for it

lego congratulations again and thank you for the cake. Sorry for slowing you and Blathers down - today was my fastest parkrun for a while and my right calf now feels stiff and sore - not enough to stop me tomorrow though Grin

Looking forward to cinnamon's 50th next week.

Hello everyone Smile

I only took up running earlier this year & did my first ever parkrun this morning.

Very happy with my time of 27:57 as it was a super hilly course Grin

standingonlego · 07/09/2014 18:52

That is fabulous zonedout! Welcome to the parkrun family Grin. A great time too!!!!

standingonlego · 07/09/2014 18:54

Thank you cinnamon - your turn next week Grin.

Well done all you parkrunners - great to see everyone, new and veteran, doing our thing on a Saturday morning. I love reading this thread and hearing all the news :)

cinnamongreyhound · 07/09/2014 19:19

Well done zonedout!

Ds2 told me I wasn't allowed to go to parkrun next Saturday because it's his birthday. I said we'll open presents before I go and you can play with your new toys while I'm out running and he said 'ok mummy you go', excellent!!!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/09/2014 19:22

Hi all

I am on week 9 of the couch to 5k program and have registered for Parkrun (got my barcodes laminated today). I'm planning to do the Isle of Wight one the weekend after this one.

I have some stupid questions:

I am not super fit or super fast. Will people be nice and not like the bitches in school PE?

Can you listen to music while you run?

cinnamongreyhound · 09/09/2014 14:14

Hi CruCru! It's lovely at parkrun, there are some fast runners but they are usually very supportive. You can have a look at last weeks times to see the range of times at your local one. Headphones are fine, just be aware of people around you who may be trying to get past :)

CruCru · 09/09/2014 15:20

Oh cool!

ThursdayLast · 09/09/2014 15:56

Hi zoned! My local parkrun is hilly too, I feel your pain. That's a wonderful time congrats!
Hello crucru! Like cinnamon said you will never ever ever be laughed at at parkrun. Everyone there is so like minded, it is the most wonderful supportive atmosphere.
When I volunteer I LOVE cheering people on Grin. Don't forget to let us know how you get on

Blatherskite · 09/09/2014 21:33

Thursday there is a big discussion going on right now on the 'new parkrun' facebook page about whether your parkrun is in fact the toughest in the country :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 12/09/2014 07:59

cinnamon I am really sorry but I will not be able to come after all tomorrow Sad Sad Sad . I hope you have a great 50th run-I will miss the cake! Not sure if I will even get to my own parkrun.

Annoying but not serious injuries + visitors arriving for weekend + rugby match = frazzled OhOne.

That's funny Blathers!
I will try and check it out Smile
I of course say it definitely definitely is

ThursdayLast · 12/09/2014 09:36

Haha spotted! Was that you?

ThursdayLast · 13/09/2014 07:26

Good morning!
I'm excited to go a run the UKs hardest parkrun Grin
(I'm always excited til I get to the bottom of the hill)
Have fun everyone!
Are there any 50s today?

feetheart · 13/09/2014 07:32

Sulking a bit as we are having to cry off our first attempt at getting to our local parkrun. DS has decided he would like to go to the Music service 'come and try an instrument session' and I have a cold complete with hacking cough :(
Will try again next week though have to check out DS's sleepover arrangements first Hmm

Enjoy the running everyone, especially Cinnamon - think it's your 50th isn't it?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/09/2014 08:39

I have a sniffle too feet. I am going to try to hobble around my parkrun in my WOLF shirt Grin, since I couldn't get to cinnamon for her 50th.

cinnamon! Happy 50th parkrun!

I celebrated my 18th(?) with a PB Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 13/09/2014 12:14

Thank you all, I finishing in 41:56 :( had one of our young runners take a tumble so we walked her back to her mum and then carried on! Had a big cheer over the line which was nice and cake, now off to dinosaur park for my littlest mans birthday :)

Hope everyone who ran had a good one and those who didn't get to run next time!

Well done Cinnamon! Have fun at the dinosaur park.

Am still waiting for my time.

ThursdayLast · 13/09/2014 12:56

My test just came through 26.40!
Over 30secs off my previous PB. Shock

HalleLouja · 13/09/2014 13:27

Well done Thursday

I managed to shave a whole second off my PB to 26.48.... Wasn't feeling 100% so may get faster again.
