New thread for park runners old and new. Who's running at home and away this weekend? Who's volunteering?

Where ever it is will still take you at least an hour to get there though ThursdayLast Wink

ThursdayLast · 11/02/2015 20:21

I suspect you're being sardonic Cinnamon, and yet you're probably v accurate Sad

It's certainly no closer than the 14miles I currently have to drive. But it IS national trust which seems to be the trend down here!

cinnamongreyhound · 11/02/2015 20:49

Ive had a few holidays in Cornwall and you look at the map and think that's only 15 miles away we can go there no probs and then an hour later you're almost there! I'm used to a mile meaning roughly a minute so I feel for you!

ThursdayLast · 11/02/2015 20:57

From me to Lanhydrock is actually pretty much all on the A30 so at 8.15am it's not a bad journey.

The new one is on a much more 'Cornish' kind of road, so that'll be special occasions only sadly! The inaugural is on the weekend of DPs stag do, I was planning to volunteer at Lanhydrock but I might see what the Grandparents can do...

HalleLouja · 12/02/2015 09:39

Feet how about Biscuit and Cake?

feetheart · 12/02/2015 10:05

Working on that Halle but want them to start off simply and see how it goes. There will definitely be inaugural cake - I have decreed it :o

HalleLouja · 12/02/2015 10:11

I wasn't thinking for the runners, just for you and mini-Feet.

feetheart · 12/02/2015 23:11

Received text tonight - the funding is in parkrun's coffers :o :o :o

All systems are GO - I have a mountain of paperwork to fill in and we should have an official start date by early next week. Watch this space :)

ThursdayLast · 13/02/2015 08:14

Well done feet, very exciting!
Well, perhaps not all the paperwork

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/02/2015 08:29

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/02/2015 18:52

Boo hiss no parkrun for me tomorrow Sad.

The only good thing is that I'm missing it for brunch Smile. I did find a parkrun near the brunch venue and suggested to DH that I ask the hosts if I could quickly use their shower when we got there and he did this Shock Hmm Confused so I guess it's not such a good idea after all Grin.

Congrats feet on your parkrun baby!! Good luck with it.

I'm at my parents house so a parkrun at Sewerby for me!!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/02/2015 20:59

Sewerby is lovely kimmi, but a bit breezy Grin

Bah humbug to your Dh OhOneOhTwoOhThree!!

I'm home tomorrow Grin

Blatherskite · 13/02/2015 21:25

I'm going to Valentines parkrun in Ilford tomorrow. It's the first time Valentines day has falled on a Saturday since it started and it won't happen again until 2026!!

It's going to be a busy one I think.

cinnamongreyhound · 13/02/2015 21:54

I saw the Minion cinnamon but wasn't sure how to post it on here, thanks.

Up waaaaay too early to go the Gladstone parkrun in N London to do RD training - better get used to it, there will be no more rocking up at 8.50am come April :)

Happy parkrunday everyone.

ThursdayLast · 14/02/2015 07:45

Haha love it cinnamon!
No slacking for me today - DS is well and truly on the alarm clock case this morning!

Have fun training feet, your times they are a'changin'!

Enjoy brunch OhOne, is it a V Day brunch in particular? How very romantic!

Happy Valentine's Day Traveller Blathers

Happy parkrunning everyone Smile

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 14/02/2015 08:16

Hahahaha Thursday at the thought of a romantic Valentines Day brunch. (No it's not. It's at DS1's school, before his last ever parent-teacher meeting).

Happy parkrunday everyone! It's a lovely morning here, I went out for a run at 7.00 just because I could.

Hope the training and tourism are fun and enjoyable.

32:14 min parkrun for me with a chocolate heart filled with caramel at the end. Lovely trot round with my running buddy I haven't seen all week!

ThursdayLast · 14/02/2015 14:12

I see your point OhOne brunch at school = not romantic for sure!

Good turn out today - I came in in 54th place in 27.33.
My average time is coming down but I am still baffled at where my PB came from and despair at ever beating it without giving myself a heart attack.

Well done cinnamon, your bun will have a lot of parkrun's under his belt already when he's born!

karatekimmi · 14/02/2015 15:06

It was a bit breezy today, but lovely course. Ran with my sister and was hoping for a PB, but a bit outside it. Hopefully next week when she's not with me next week, I'll do it!!

MelanieCheeks · 14/02/2015 15:25

Great minion, Cinnamon!

I revisited Bangor Co Down, to do my sighted guide training, which was a bit scary, running with a blindfold on!

They were handing out roses at the finish, which was lovely.

(My time was shite, so we'll forget about that shall we)
