New thread for park runners old and new. Who's running at home and away this weekend? Who's volunteering?

Here's the official bit from the parkrun FAQ

MelanieCheeks · 31/01/2015 14:12

Which T-shirts do you mean?

Here's my write up of Comber

Bit annoyed with my poor finish - I'd been second lady for about 4.5km, and then several people caught me on the final sprint. Still, 26:02, which given the wind and last night's wine wasn't bad.

Blatherskite · 31/01/2015 14:35

I assumed she meant the club shirts but I could be wrong.

The new range of official non-club shirts is here on Wiggle I have one of the blue running tshirts from the last lot and it's too big so I doubt I'll be ordering anything. I can't even buy the kids stuff like I did with the anniversary tshirt as it's all different and would be really obvious. It's hard enough being taken seriously when you're 5'1" without turning up in kids clothes Sad

Blatherskite · 31/01/2015 14:37

Ooh, the new ones actually seem to be in dress sizes (8, 10, 12 etc) rather than just S, M, L etc. Maybe they would fit after all!

karatekimmi · 31/01/2015 16:10

Thanks for the messages, I had a lovely plod around, although it was hard work pushing the pushchair in the sludge and snow!!
Volunteering next week as back up time keeper!! Slightly worried as we now get around 200 people, I bet it gets busy at times!!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 31/01/2015 16:12

Congratulations kimmi and mini-kimmi Smile

thanks blathers Smile . I couldn't find the my old email with the t-shirt situation update.

cinnamongreyhound · 31/01/2015 16:31

You can't order yet meglet as there is a back log due to a change of provider. Parkrun will email you when they have enough manufactured to meet demand and you can order then.

Well done MelanieCheeks.

You'll be fine karatekimmi, just keep pressing the button and they cross the line Grin

Anyone for Panshanger on Saturday? I won't be hanging around afterwards (and I see from the news page that the coffee van won't be there Sad)

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 05/02/2015 07:26

I can't parkrun this week, we are moving mil to fil's place and all the stuff that goes with that. As its 2.5hrs drive I don't think I'd get away with running first :(

MelanieCheeks · 06/02/2015 13:17

Better do my home event this week, as I'm touring again next week!

Blatherskite · 06/02/2015 17:26

Mile End this weekend.

Valentines parkrun next weekend. Where else would I be on Valentines day? Wink

feetheart · 06/02/2015 18:39

Sorry Ohone, we are at MK learning how to give out finishing tokens in the freezing cold - lots and lots of finishing tokens probably - brrrrrr :)

feetheart · 06/02/2015 18:41

I think there is a book open as to how many people will be doing Valentine's that day? :o
Apparantly it has never been on the actual day since it started so there is no previous data to go on (probably a parkrun first :))

cinnamongreyhound · 06/02/2015 18:46

I am quite keen to have something pink/red/with hearts on but rd for the day isn't! She's going to bring chocolates though. I have a heart shaped cutter so might make some cookies if I have the energy!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/02/2015 00:16

Hope the move goes well cinnamon

Enjoy Mile end Blathers

Yes feet, lots and lots (and lots and lots) of tokens to give out at MK tomorrow.

KristinaM · 07/02/2015 08:01

Feet heart - you need fingerless gloves for finish tokens

Good luck to everyone running today , I am still off with virus /chest infection . don't think I'll be able to do the half marathon next month as planned as I've now missed 3 weeks of training Sad

ThursdayLast · 07/02/2015 08:11

Morning all - I hope you feel better soon Kristina chest infections are evil.

No parkrun for me today - DS stayed at his GPs lady night so it seems churlish to not stay in bed for as long as possible this morning Grin

I hope your family are all ok cinnamon (including your bun) - and you have a stress free weekend

KristinaM · 07/02/2015 08:15

Thanks Thursdays
Enjoy your morning of bunking off relaxation

HalleLouja · 07/02/2015 10:40

Managed SA winter course. It seemed more fun this week that last. Had a good finish. Oh well its done now. I think last week the course was a bit shorter as they didn't have the marshalls in the right places. So although I was slower overall I think I did about the same...

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/02/2015 14:37

Panshanger was lovely, and I was pretty quick (by my standards) even though it was mostly off road. Unfortunately there was no heating or hot water at the college where my tutorial was straight afterwards, so I had a cold shower and froze for the next two hours. Feeling happier now I am home and have had hot food and drink Smile

OP posts:
feetheart · 07/02/2015 16:44

Arrrrgh Ohone - I would have turned up smelly, I really don't do cold anything. Glad you liked Panshanger, it is pretty.

Still haven't done the alternative course Halle

KristinaM - boo to chest infections. Fingerless gloves are my Autumn/Winter/Spring staple :) Today I had neoprene ones under thick knitted, fleece lined ones and I was still frozen by the end. Managed to hand out 439 tokens without messing up and DS loved his cross country afterwards so a good day all round :)

As an aside - I know 3 people who live in MK - 1 is a runner, the other two are jugglers. We turned up at the volunteer meeting point this morning and who else was there for her first volunteer stint? Mrs Juggler! #smallworld :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/02/2015 16:53

feet I had already stripped off by the time I found out there was no hot water - I had been letting it run to get warm while I was undressing. By "shower" I mean putting small parts of my body into the water and rubbing shower gel all over me, rather than actually standing under icy water Smile.

439 tokens - that's a LOT Grin

OP posts:
feetheart · 07/02/2015 16:59

Even that would have been too much for me Ohone :)

Last time we were at MK there were over 470 Shock Possibly less this week as there were lots of MK runners in the cross country and Blathers was on tour :o

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/02/2015 17:14

But feet you swam across a cold lake with me remember? What's a cold shower compared to that Grin
