Thanks everyone. I'm paying for it this morning! The hip I had the physio work on is now painful all the time instead of just when I poke it or run hard and the ear infection I thought I'd beat is back with a vengeance too. Even my tummy is unimpressed. Thankfully, both the kids are at school today so I can stretch and have a nap to make up for last night's broken sleep. I've got some serious parkrun tourism to do tomorrow so I'm hoping a days rest will be enough to mean I can do more than just hobble round to course.

Fantastic time Blathers and a high five for the pb although sorry to hear your feeling it this morning.

Waiting, waiting on dd getting picked up so I can fit in a quick run before ds finishes school early for the beginning of the summer hols. Wish they'd hurry up.

Hi can I join? I'm back to running in the last 4 weeks after a yr off just after getting to 10k last yr. going out with a friend 3 mornings a week at 6am for 6.5 km and three days with another friend for 5 k. This week, however, I only got three runs in which was 18km in total... Everyone here is doing so well. It's so motivational reading everyone's success

Welcome to the thread Mazz. Are you running 6 days a week then? Hats off to you if you are? Smile

With your 18km and my 7.7km this morning the total is 1655.7.

Well done on your continuing PBs blathers. Where are you touring to this weekend?

Oh I know emummy, dc have me busted during the holidays. Ds wants to stay up later and I just want to go to bed.

Only managed 3.8 which is terrible. Left knee and hip were really starting to hurt so I gave up. Strangely the opposite side that had been hurting. Swear not a week goes by now my joints don't give out to me somehow. Physio appt next week anyway so fingers crossed they can recommend something super-duper.

Going to give parkrun a miss tomorrow I think and maybe hit the crosstrainer instead at lunchtime. Nothing to do with me going out tonight for the first night in agggesss. Oh no Wink

Hi Mazz 6 runs a week is brilliant.

1659.5

I did a torturesome TRX band workout at the gym yesterday and am really feeling it in my abs today, ouch! Today is a day off prior to 10k tomorrow. I feel absolutely exhausted this afternoon - just lay down on the bed for a minute and almost fell asleep!

Oh I love TRX workouts Pirate. Not a member of a gym any more, but would love to buy a set of straps and find a handy tree. I find bodyweight workouts so much more enjoyable than actual weights, for some reason.

Hi Mazz and wow on the 6 runs! I normally do 4, but have been on three for the past fortnight thanks to silly stiff ankle.

Lol, I'd get in a dreadful taffle if I tried to use TRX bands on my own Grin.

5.1k this evening. I'm tail running at parkrun both tomorrow and next week. Hopefully the only time I'll ever come last!

Thanks for the nice words about my distance PB yesterday - I was truly elated all day after achieving it :)

Another 6k from me today - quite hard work after tonight's Tae Kwon Do lesson and running 9k yesterday but feels good to have done it!

So with PPC's 5.1 I make the total:

1670.6

Hi MazzR! I've done two runs in one day before bug not three times a week, impressed!!

Had a great time at my wibbly wobbly log jog! Got a snood as a momento and a spot prize of 3hr mountain bike hire Confused which I may donate! I couldn't hang around for times due to a grumpy dh, recurring theme?!? but I think it was around 47min, did it in 49m40 last year. First mile was 8.48 mins after that they were 9+ due to wibbly ness of course and it seemed very uphill this year! Good fun again :)

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd actually manage alone, but a friend takes her TRX to the park and does her workout and it sounds so terribly outdoorsy and lovely. Mind you, not sure the world is ready for me attempting a TRX workout in public Grin.

I am beginning to wonder if my ankle pain is related to new running shoes. I used to have light support ones for mild pronation but I had a gait analysis recently and they declared I have neutral style so sold me neutral shoes. Wonder if they were wrong or if my ankles just need time to adjust to not having the (unneeded) support...

10 miles in under an hour and a half (just) - now enjoying a beer on the sofa - I love a Friday run!

Taffle - that's a new one on me Originalpirate - where's that from? I'd say fankle.

I like taffle and fankle! Although autocorrect does not, it is trying to kill them.

Well done on the run blue Smile

Morning all. I have an arduous 8k to add from last night.

Turns out some of the paths around my local woods are nothing like as clear as they were last year. I spent nigh on 20mins picking my way through a quarter mike stretch of footpath that was spring loaded with healthy green brambles Angry. My poor little calves.

Never mind. After a healthy dose of Wine I was much better! although my parkrun time may not be dazzling today!

BlueChampagne I've never heard of fankle! I think Confused taffle is from East Yorks, although it's entirely possible that i just made it up at some stage.

I like exercising outdoors but last time I tried doing some push-ups on a bench in the park, a passing Alsatian took rather too much of an interest!

I'm off to Race for Life in Victoria Park this morning. Looks like the timing will coincide with the arrival of heavy showers but I don't mind that too much - I quite like running in the rain.

Hello! Not much running from me this week due to poorly children.

I did my second 10.1km today, 53 minutes again! This time it was easier and by 9k I was running 5min/km and felt like I could keep going! But I'm sticking to the training plan so stopped at 10. 1712.7

Has anyone heard of drinking beetroot juice before a race? A friend suggested it to me, she's training for a half marathon though, it's probably not necessary for a shorter distance?!
