I'm here too! 10k from me also, making 916.4. Really lovely run this morning, enjoyed it loads.

originalpiratematerial · 15/06/2014 12:53

I did my 10 km in 01:06 this morning. Now, that's not an Endomondo PB, but it's a Garmin PB, and as my Endomondo PB was 01:04, and as I read on here that Garmin regularly adds on 0.25 - 0.5 km to most runs compared with phone apps, then it may well be a PB. Does that make sense? Anyway it's made me feel that I might be in with a chance of doing the Race for Life 10 k in about 01:05 which would be nice. I'd been feeling a bit down about my running earlier this week and was even thinking of just walking the Race for Life. But now I feel a bit better again.

Fishandjam · 15/06/2014 13:22

Argh, wretched garden centre WiFi lost my post! I did my 10k race in around 1:11 (haven't checked the official times yet). Am blown away by that - was anticipating between 1:15 and 1:20. Really enjoyed it, especially the offroad bits. And I wasn't last!

So 926.4.

thefemaleJoshLyman · 15/06/2014 14:04

Well done pirate and fish, you have both done really well! Hope you are eating something unhealthy somewhere. Were you both at the Hunts race? (I think you were fish) It was quite pleasant - although windy.

I can also add 10k from my race this morning so 936.4. Really surprised myself with a new PB! Garmin tells me 48.21!!!! I shall have to wait for my official chip time but really pleased with that after the few weeks I had out injured in April/May. No sure if I will ever be able to get any faster!

Having a BBQ this afternoon, so no doubt will eat all my calories back on again. But we all deserve it the amount we are all running at the mo.

Fishandjam · 15/06/2014 14:47

Josh, 48:21 is a fantastic time! Well done!!

And well done pirate, I think you definitely did it in 1:05 Grin

My official time is 1:11:16. Am so stupidly pleased with that, I can't tell you. Feeling a bit sleepy now though!

Fishandjam · 15/06/2014 14:50

Oops, PS: what pleased me the most was that I did actually run it all. No walking whatsoever. (Except briefly to drink a cup of water.)

thefemaleJoshLyman · 15/06/2014 15:01

Brilliant that you managed to run it all, fish. Impressed that you managed to drink, I just slopped water everywhere!

originalpiratematerial · 15/06/2014 15:40

Sorry I misled you - my 10km this morning wasn't a race, just me on my tod - Race for Life 10k is in two weeks!

Well done fish and Josh, great stuff.

postmanpatscat · 15/06/2014 15:43

Well done pirate fish and josh, great results!

postmanpatscat · 15/06/2014 15:53

Anyone read this one? book

I'm not sure I take running seriously enough to buy it though!

originalpiratematerial · 15/06/2014 18:14

I've never read a book on running. I have just signed up for a subscription to Runners' World though (please don't flame me if I've put the apostrophe in the wrong place there).

emummy · 15/06/2014 18:46

No sorry, not read that book. I read running magazines and try to pick up wee tips here and there. My running style is probably a hotch-potch of different things that I've read!

orangeflutie · 15/06/2014 19:12

I've got a lot to catch up onSmile

Got back from Lanzarote yesterday. I did two short runs there 3.45 miles and 2.41 then 4.58 miles this morning to add to the total. Will now read through rest of thread.

feetheart · 15/06/2014 19:46

Good luck Orange, we can chat a bit :)

Great fun Superhero run for DS and I this morning. Was supposed to be 5k but was much closer to 4k by my reckoning (measuring it manually on Goodrunguide) Even so, if my calculations are right, we flew round there (and DS beat me over the line again)
Colour5k next week, are you going to give it a go Lego?

feetheart · 15/06/2014 19:55

Not sure if this link will work but here we are after the race :)

KristinaM · 15/06/2014 20:18

Awwww he's so cute < misses point >

And a fine athlete too I'm sure

Fishandjam · 15/06/2014 20:29

Nice photo feet!

HalleLouja · 15/06/2014 21:01

Good photo feet.

cinnamongreyhound · 15/06/2014 21:15

Well d

cinnamongreyhound · 15/06/2014 21:23

Argh that's annoying!! Obviously tapped something to make keyboard disappear and then tapped on post.

Well done fishandjam and thefemaleJoshLyman, both fantastic achievement.

Endomondo is usually further than garmin ime original piratematerial but that's better as you 10k time would be not quite the actual 10k but 9.5k on endomondo. Well done either way, 1hr 5min is definitely you new pb!

Lovely photo feetheart!!!

So no running for me today, dh wanted a relaxed laze around before going to work (so no Childcare) and then off to my mums. I have entered the Norwich half finally! But I'm not sure it was such a good idea as....secret time but it's ok as you're not real I've finally persuaded dh to try for dc no3!! I had my coil removed on Tuesday and nurse said there's no reason I can't get pregnant straight away as everything looks healthy and copper coil doesn't stop ovulation! Didn't run before ds's so I'm a bit anxious about how I'll cope without running but we'll see anyway I should be able to run a hm 5 months pregnant right?

Fishandjam · 15/06/2014 21:28

cinnamon, I have no idea! But how exciting. You may have to exercise your pelvic floor even more than usual though...

originalpiratematerial · 15/06/2014 21:37

Ooh hang on, cinnamon - now I'm very Confused about the difference between Endomondo measurements and Garmin measurements. So if I have a PB, according to Endomondo, of 10.04 and a PB, according to Garmin, of 10:06 - which is likely to be more accurate?

originalpiratematerial · 15/06/2014 21:38

And cinnamon - wow, that's exciting news!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/06/2014 21:39

Garmin is more accurate :) but 1:04 on endomondo is a time for probably 9-9.5k so would be closer to 1:06 for an actual 10k.

originalpiratematerial · 15/06/2014 21:41

Oh phew thanks cinnamon - that's what I thought, but suddenly got all worried I'd got it the wrong way round!

So far I've only measured one run using both Endomondo and Garmin. The disparity was about 0.1 of a km but it wasn't a very long run, and I didn't run under lots of bridges. I've noticed that bridges seem to send Endomondo a bit doolally. There were loads of bridges on the route I ran today.
