Well done fingers and all of yesterday's Whipsnade runners.

tess get well soon.

I have only done 10k, spread over two runs, in the last week .

karatekimmi · 09/06/2014 21:02

I did 6.5 with my club tonight, a nice easy pace I only run at one pace!! a good gossip with my running buddy

I think that makes 625.3

Tired now and ready for bed, night all.

Standingonlego · 09/06/2014 22:18

HalleLoula walking at 9km - could have been me :)

thefemaleJoshLyman · 09/06/2014 22:24

It might help if I could read, cinnamongreyhound. The site clearly says that packs aren't posted out, my head saw the opposite.

I love the sound of the Whipsnade run, might try to do that next year. Great time Blathers!

Mitchy1nge · 09/06/2014 22:42

630.3 with my 5 from today I think

KristinaM · 09/06/2014 23:34

Fish - a pace of 1:15 -1:20 -that's very impressive

Apparently Mo farah only ran at 2:45 in the 2012 Olympic 15,000m final .

Sorry have nothing today to add to the total -I am tapering for my 10km in two days. Well thats my excuse anyway .

How are all the injuries doing ?

Fishandjam · 10/06/2014 12:31

Yes I know kristina. If RunKeeper is to be believed, I could do a 5k in just over 6 minutes Grin

In reality, my pace is a much more believable 7:30.

fingersonbuzzers · 10/06/2014 14:08

Hi all, fishandjam - I want a garmin that makes me look as good as yours Envy Grin

Went out for a chatty jog that turned into coffee in the sun with a friend today Blush but will add the 1 mile we did before we stopped, so 631.3

If anyone wants to suggest a training plan to get me from my current distance of 10k up to doing a half marathon by December I'd be really grateful, btw.

Starting a college course in September which is going to be pretty full on, so I don't want to throw everything at a HM, but wanted to gradually up my pace so I'd be capable to enter the one I have my eye on in December one if I feel up to it late in the year.

fingersonbuzzers · 10/06/2014 14:09

sorry, should have said wanted to gradually increase my distance

KristinaM · 10/06/2014 14:49

Fingers -is the 10km the total number of km you run each week ? Or the longest run you do each week ?

If it's the total, you you run 5km twice a week or 2km five times per week ?

How many days a week coudl you run ? Most plans are based around the number of runs you do per week

Morrigu · 10/06/2014 16:37

Well done on your pb Blathers

Having been single for nearly two years that doesn't sound like a bad injury to have tess Grin

8.1 including hill repeats to add from yesterday 639.4. Only really started doing extra from last week with the view to the hm in Sept and I am constantly shattered and starving. Tell me it's just my body adjusting and it will get easier. I think I'm eating right but not sure tbh.

Blatherskite · 10/06/2014 16:44

fingers, yes I'll be there this week. I'd better be - I have all the stuff!!

Again!

Assuming we can get enough volunteers, there will be pacers this week too.

I'll be in the cafe afterwards if you want to say hi.

vladthedisorganised · 10/06/2014 18:28

5k today of very, very hot hill runs. Felt like a roasted tomato at the end of it.
I think I may have to face the fact that getting up at 5am is the only way I'll be able to run for a while - I never do well when I know I absolutely have to be back within a certain time frame (so teeny tiny window between end of work and nursery pick up is out), and lunchtimes are getting too hot without any shade nearby.

So 635.3

vladthedisorganised · 10/06/2014 18:29

Sorry, x-posted! 644.7

fingersonbuzzers · 10/06/2014 18:38

Hi Kristina - atm I'm doing 2 X 10k runs and 1 X 5k speed session per week. Sorry, I realised I didn't explain myself very well!

I can run 3 X a week max. It will be trickier in the summer holidays, but certainly from September I'll be back to 3 X runs a week (will do my best to do 3 throughout the holidays, too).

Blathers - that's cool about parkrun. I saw they were short of volunteers but atm I don't yet know if I can make parkrun on Saturday so haven't volunteered this week.

ThursdayLast · 10/06/2014 19:00

8k from me today makes it 652.7

emummy · 10/06/2014 19:01

649.2 4.5k for me today in rain and sun, a 30 min progression run. My legs are quite achy, think I need to book a massage.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 10/06/2014 20:37

Been away for a while full of cold :(. But still managed two 5km and one 9km run, so that makes it 676.2? Smile

Fishandjam · 10/06/2014 20:51

Stre-e-e-etch emummy! Calves, soleus and glutes. It's made such a difference for me, I'm a bit tedious evangelical about it!

Fishandjam · 10/06/2014 20:52

And foam rollering. Mind you, round our way, foam rollering your calves would probably get you arrested.

Blatherskite · 10/06/2014 22:25

No need to worry fingers, after the ED threatened to cancel this week, we suddenly have a full roster. You can run guilt free Wink

I'm running this weekend and volunteering next weekend before disappearing off for some more tourism.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 11/06/2014 00:10

Had a lovely long (for me!) run today. It felt tough for the first 15-20 minutes, then I got into my stride and ended up running round loads of back streets on the way home just to add some more distance. I ran 9.4k, which is my longest run to date. I can almost smell 10k within my grasp!

I believe that brings us to 685.6 in total.

emummy · 11/06/2014 07:25

fish I do stretch and foam roller, but my legs just seem to be heavy and achy just now so maybe an agonizing sports massage is needed. Other than that it might be old age....

Chopstheduck · 11/06/2014 08:00

690.6 Did a 5k yesterday plus 250m at the mum's race for the dts sports day Wink

I'm prob going to have to put running on the back burner for the moment as I need to train for the cycle leg of a triathalon. I was on the One Show on BBC yesterday evening, won a place on a team with Mel C Grin

feetheart · 11/06/2014 09:12

I saw you Chops :)
Well done and good luck. Hope Mel is as nice as she seems.

Gentle 3.8k from me this morning. Have had achy shins since Sunday so have rested them for a few days and then tested them out on grass. Feel fine now so back to normal I think.

Superhero run on Sunday - task for today/tomorrow - make a cloak Hmm

694.4
