Liking the dog

I weed a lot but rarely dig if I can avoid it . Because inexplicably I appear to have the back of a middle aged women , which is ridiculous as I am A Bright Young Thing

Standingonlego · 07/06/2014 18:13

442.8 km - adding on parkrun :)

Standingonlego · 07/06/2014 18:14

Guard of honour today for our veteran 80 year old Bob - running home on his 100th parkrun :) It was such a lovely atmosphere today.

Lego that looks like you were having a fab time.

Has anyone done the London Square Mile relay? Am tempted to do it if my company enters.... If.

Whipsinade tomorrow and I have hardly run all week.........

ThursdayLast · 07/06/2014 18:39

Aah, that's so lovely lego! I bet he was well chuffed!

My back is still a vulnerable area Fish but isn't currently hurting. After not running too much early in the week and some Pilates and the like it feels much better.
I hope yours feels better soon, though I expect you have a wonderful garden now!

KristinaM · 07/06/2014 18:43

Oops sorry, I forgot my 9.5 k today.

postmanpatscat · 07/06/2014 19:11

5.5 km to add here, has been a rubbish week for mileage. DP is joining me on my riverside long run tomorrow though, but of course he won't run alongside me but race off into the distance so he might as well not be there.

Now 457.8km so far.

Love the guard of honour Lego!

thefemaleJoshLyman · 07/06/2014 20:07

Hello all, my weekly check in! I can't bold things on my tablet so I wait until on my laptop to actually post and lurk the rest of the week.

Well done Fish and Pirate on your parkrun PBs, you must be really pleased.

No parkrun for me today, I am running a 10k next Sunday and wanted to do a long run this morning to prove that my injury was better and than I can run that distance. I did but a little slower than I want to be running at this stage. Hopefully I can run a bit faster next Sunday, although am worried about the heat.

I have done 27km altogether this week, which helps me bring the overall total to 484.8k.

This week coming I am running my normal 7k on Tuesday, probably 5k on Thursday and then the 10k on Sunday. Really need to start building up the miles again after Sunday so that I can feel confident for the HM in October.

cinnamongreyhound · 07/06/2014 20:10

Well done fishandjam and originalpiratematerial!!

Fab photo ThursdayLast, my two would come out with me to in the massive storm we had!!!

That's really lovely standingonlego.

Another 5.5k from me parkrun and running there 463.3km

thefemaleJoshLyman · 07/06/2014 20:13

Complete cross-post I think cinnamon, does that make the total 490.3km. Going crazy with my bolding while I can! Grin

thefemaleJoshLyman · 07/06/2014 20:14

And missing a question mark. Grrr.

I love the guard of honour Lego it is really lovely and pretty much sums up the joy of parkrun.

Standingonlego · 07/06/2014 20:24

DH now being a pain about Stampede...where will I have a shower, where will i get changed after - do not want to be stinking all day...i suppose we will have to come straight back (err...no we won't)....[hmmm]

I hoped it would be a lovely fun family day out - hope grumpy knickers is not going to spoil things Sad

Standingonlego · 07/06/2014 20:25

On a more positive - thank you for lovely comments on Bobs guard of honour, am hoping someone will send it in for the photo competition!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/06/2014 20:43

Sounds like my dh last Saturday Standingonlego!! Give him a kick up the bum from me!!

That total sounds good to me TheFemaleJoshLyman

Blatherskite · 07/06/2014 21:36

We'll all stink together Lego. There will be enough runners there taking advantage of their free zoo pass that I'm sure no-one will notice you in particular stinking. I'm planning on taking a spare set of clothes and getting changed out of my running gear but I'm just going to have to live without the shower. It will be fine.

Do we have a plan for meeting up tomorrow?

feetheart · 07/06/2014 21:36

Feed him to the lions Lego and come round with us :)

I think there is space to change but no showers. I'm bringing baby wipes and a change of clothes and hoping that will do. I may have low standards though.
Do we have a plan to meet up? I'm assuming after the children's race would be best? By the wolefs? Or do we want to try and spot each other some other way? I will be the tall, slightly dazed one in the glasses and Winston's Wish vest loitering around the 60min bit at the start (I'm No 333 if it helps!) Within 2 mins of the start I will look like this --->Angry Good Celtic colouring Hmm

Love the photo Lego and love the whole idea. I hope he enjoyed his special day :)

Well done to everyone else and take care of those backs. Kristina - a wise woman told me a long time ago that middle age is always 5 years older than you are at the time. Its working for me :)

Blatherskite · 07/06/2014 21:55

I'll be one of the hoards of Green t-shirts and vests tomorrow :)

It has my name on the front. I can PM anyone who is interested with what that name is if you like?

feetheart · 07/06/2014 22:04

Oh yes, mine has my name on too

PM might be good

postmanpatscat · 07/06/2014 22:14

Good luck for tomorrow all whipsnaders! Looking forward to hearing all about it,

originalpiratematerial · 07/06/2014 22:36

Yes, have a great run, all you Whipsnade crew!

Morrigu · 07/06/2014 22:37

Lovely photo lego and would be cracking for the competition.

6.3 to add from me today and as I missed parkrun this morning I raced the first 5k and got myself a pb.

Best of luck for the whipsnaders and hope you all have a fantastic day. What the weather to be like for you?

feetheart · 07/06/2014 22:41

Weather looks good - 17-18C during the race (and it's always cooler at the zoo) and then up to 21C for the rest of the day :)

Nearly ready to go though should go to bed soon.

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 07/06/2014 23:03

Just off to bed now. Kit all laid out ready for Whipsnade tomorrow. Shock
I will be wearing a pink and black Kalenji vest and my number is 321.

I will try and be around the wolefs after the 2k has finished. I am with DS and my parents though so hopefully they won't have dragged me off to the other side of the zoo at that point!!

Good luck to us all. Grin

Standingonlego · 07/06/2014 23:12

Hi Cardiff - have just PMed you with some identification clues for the other whipsnade runners.

I have parents with me too :) My kit is not out, our lunches are not packed, and I need to go to bed. Not the best race prep ever seen!
