tess - I found going from Week 3 to Week 4 the hardest jump so repeating week 3 sounds sensible. I got ill at about Week 6, had to take 2 weeks off and then went back to about Week 4 and started from there. Took me 13 weeks instead of 9 but I'm still running, mostly loving it and getting quicker five years later :)

KristinaM · 06/06/2014 12:24

Tess, it took me 11 weeks to do the c25k because I only moved on a week when I found the current week ok

Whatever you do, don't stop altogether as then it will be even harder when you start again. And you will fell very demotivated .

Have you checked out your local Parkrun for when you finish week 12?

Onwards and upwards Grin

TessTackle · 06/06/2014 12:35

Thanks Kristina and feet I'll definitely repeat then.
The jump seems massive!
I haven't looked into park runs, I only manage to get out when DD is at nursery and tend to veg at the weekends with DP when she's at her Dads. I do want to change that though so I'll look into it.

Has my 7 been added to the total? I'm useless at maths!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/06/2014 13:15

Oooo which one Runkittyrun?

7.7k for week 3 of c25k is bloody amazing TessTackle, I'm sure if you slowed your run a bit you'd easily manage week 4! There is of course no problems with redoing a week but I was overweight and not very fit and completed it without repeating and we certainly nowhere near even 4k in week3! We have a lady at our parkrun who is still doing c25k and walks some so you don't have to wait Wink

I'm going to sulk now at all of your running round the zoo in the sunshine :( stupid miserable dh

TessTackle · 06/06/2014 14:01

Cinnamon I ran to and from the park as well as c25k-ing around it. I don't feel like I can do 5 full minutes yet but I may well be underestimating myself!

KristinaM · 06/06/2014 14:08

Sorry I mean week 8 . Although it was week 12 for me

originalpiratematerial · 06/06/2014 16:07

6.5 km from me to add - so that's 395.0 I think?

I made myself do some hill work this morning. There aren't many hills around here but there's a good one at Springfield. 3 x up and down a steep hill, then ran around the top of the park, down the other side, back up the other side (so another hill, although not as steep) back around again and then back home.

I was nearly home and somebody's dog decided it would like to play running races with me! I'm not at all scared of dogs but was a bit unsure whether encouraging it was a good idea. It was one of those big grey ones, about same size as an Alasation, can't remember the breed. So I would stop, it would stop, I would run a bit, then I'd hear thundering paws just behind me, it would race past and stop - and so we went on! Confused

briteside · 06/06/2014 20:59

Fab run Pirate!! Great hill work. The idea of a furry running partner made me smile!!

I did a lovely 7km run in Regents Park yesterday and then a 3km interval session today. I did something to my right leg during one of the sprints - no idea what but my hip & the outside of my right ankle are really sore.

Spending some time using my foam roller (Besides from entertaining the kids :-)) helped some of the pain but not all. Definitely an ibuprofen before bed Sad

Anyway - enough feeling sorry for myself...the new total is 405 km

karatekimmi · 06/06/2014 22:13

Just did 12.8k (annoyingly 35 yards short of 8 miles!!). I'm having a spa day tomorrow so I'm hoping for a yoga or stretching class as I don't so it enough.

New total 417.8

Good luck to all running tomorrow, especially the whips made lot and park runners, I'll be in a hot tub Grin

Fishandjam · 06/06/2014 23:06

Am going to try for another PB at parkrun tomorrow. I have my iPod playlist all sorted (lots of punk and such vigorous tunes), and I'm so pissed off with one of the other MN threads I'm on that I'll probably belt round sub-30 Grin

KristinaM · 07/06/2014 07:41

Go for it fish !

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/06/2014 10:14

5 km of parkrun tourism to add, so 422.8 I thinkWink

originalpiratematerial · 07/06/2014 10:20

ouch briteside - that sounds painful. The foam roller is great for muscle soreness, I find. Icing good too but i'm sure you know that.

Just back from parkrun. It was really hot and muggy - loads of people had to walk a bit including me and of course now it's thundering and the heavens have opened! No PB for me I think (can't tell as failed to start Garmin properly).

originalpiratematerial · 07/06/2014 10:22

fish I hope you got yours!

my 5 km bring us to 422.8

Fishandjam · 07/06/2014 11:14

Yep, got it by 6 seconds Grin Had hoped for more, but given how muggy it was I'll settle for what I got. Think I started too quickly as well - I usually trot round the first 2.5k more or less last, and then speed up. Today I started middle pack and was knackered by 3k!

So 427.8?

pirate, I like your doggy racing story!

originalpiratematerial · 07/06/2014 11:21

nice one fish

I did the same sorta thing, a belting (by my standards) 2.5 km and a sharp decline thereafter. Oops.

ThursdayLast · 07/06/2014 11:21

Well done fish!

originalpiratematerial · 07/06/2014 11:40

Wowzers - I nicked a PB by 3 seconds! Am absurdly pleased about that!

I also found that there is a picture of me (before, thankfully) from the Doncaster parkrun last week on their Facebook page and I look sort of ok in it (normally I look appalling in photos). So that's cheered me up too. I'm the one in all black running gear in the middle of a photo of new park runners, should anybody care enough to look.

Fishandjam · 07/06/2014 12:19

Well done pirate!

originalpiratematerial · 07/06/2014 14:23

Funny story - one of the school mums was there today, she's a sub-20 minute finisher Envy and she shouted a cheery "sprint finish!" to me as I tottered towards the end. Fortunately I didn't have enough puff to tell her that, er, that WAS me sprinting Blush.

ThursdayLast · 07/06/2014 15:05

Well done pirate!
They do that at ours too, I like it but it is a bit annoying that they've finished, cooled down and are back up the hill half way to the car park as I'm desperately trying to shave a second off your PB Grin

I enjoyed my lie in this morning but fancied a run anyway so I just took ReluctoDog out for 10k. Took aaaaaaaages because he is more of a stopper than a runner, and I hadn't quite digested my bacon sandwich!

Also, I've signed up for a charity colour run at the end of the month -can't wait for that!

ThursdayLast · 07/06/2014 15:08

437.8

ThursdayLast · 07/06/2014 15:25

Here is ReluctoDog about 4k into the 10!

Fab photo!

Fishandjam · 07/06/2014 18:06

How's your back Thursday? Mine is killing me at the moment - not due to running (at least I hope not), but from some ill-advised digging in the garden. I'm such a prat, I KNOW that's a hurty thing to do Sad
