cardiff I have a Forerunner 10, in fact one of the Amazon reviews is mine! I love it. Anything else you want to know?!

Don't get orange or red/black unless you've got man-size wrists though.

BetsyBell · 05/06/2014 19:00

Planks and press ups are a great way to get your core and upper body strength increased.

postmanpatscat · 05/06/2014 19:39

Back from my first run since Sunday, a measly 5.2km to add from me.

Sirzy · 05/06/2014 19:43

3k in 20 mins. Happy with that

Good news EauRouge!

I have a 110 which I love, I gather the 10 is very basic but robust CardiffUniversityNetballTeam.

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 05/06/2014 20:30

Thanks postman and cinnamon.

I can't decide between the lime green or the purple. Grin

I want to use it to record my time, distance and pace. I like to look at a map of where I have been as well. I understand that if I plug it in to the computer it will overlay my route over a google map and I can have friends online with it. Is this right? Oh, and I don't have a computer at the moment, only an iPad. Can I connect it to that?

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 05/06/2014 20:32

Just 4k from me tonight. Had headache for three days now and it got worse when I was running Hmm. Hoping it goes soon but I cba to add my kilometres to the total, sorry Grin.

originalpiratematerial I'm in the RMR Facebook group. I love it, it's very supportive - a bit like on here but with more photos!

Sirzy · 05/06/2014 20:36

Im on that facebook group to SoftKitty.

I realised tonight that my knee is happy to a certain pace but when I do sprints if I get too 'fast' (by my standards) then it shouts at me. I think I need to cut out the spirnts and just focus of a steady pace instead

7km from me today. Intervals . You should get more points for intervals, I reckon . Double points for hill repeats

Blatherskite · 05/06/2014 20:52

As far as I am aware, you can't link Garmin's to iPads. That might have changed by now though.

Blatherskite · 05/06/2014 20:56

I found this which would seem to back up my hunch - "The iPad (and iPhone/iPod) downloads are purely limited to the devices that would normally transfer via the ANT Agent on your computer. This includes the Garmin FR60/FR70/FR310XT/FR610/FR910XT. Note that unfortunately, getting workouts off of the USB-transfer devices like your Garmin Edge or Forerunner 10/110/210/Fenix isn’t possible. The reasons for this primarily sit on the Apple side, which doesn’t allow you to enumerate up those USB devices."

Not sure how old it is though. Full page here Looks like you might need a more expensive Garmin to work with an iPad.

Blatherskite · 05/06/2014 20:57

Snorting at how direct this answer was :)

KristinaM · 05/06/2014 21:02

Nope. DH has tried and he's quite geeky . It's the only bit of running that interests him.......

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 05/06/2014 21:23

Arse crackers. That's annoying. Is it worth having one if I've got nothing to connect it to? Can't really justify the cost of a Garmin and a laptop!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/06/2014 21:26

I thought the 220 would upload direct to the app on my phone? Would have thought the iPad would be the same but they are pricey!

Mitchy1nge · 05/06/2014 22:21

the 220 and its so-called 'wireless upload' is a fucking myth

even when it's plugged in about 90% of the time neither garmin express nor garmin connect can detect it grrrrr - my FR10 never had these problems!

my iPad is the original, first one without a camera or anything useful and ages out of date now and definitely won't accept a Garmin

emummy · 06/06/2014 10:44

Adding up postmanspatscat, Sirzy, Kristina, softkitty and my 7 today I think takes us to 360.6 - someone please check!

Kristina I agree, at least double for intervals, I did fartleks today in my 7k in the sun and am absolutely knackered! I think I'm more of a winter runner!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/06/2014 11:08

Think we should complain there is a Bike but no runner Wink

Sirzy · 06/06/2014 11:24

I agree Cinnamon, we need a runner!

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 06/06/2014 11:38

I've got 3.8km to add (thanks google conversions)

am definitely a summer runner, and possibly the only person shivering when we went through dappled shady bits just now

TessTackle · 06/06/2014 11:51

7.2km from me!
Last day of week 3 c25k and I don't think I'm ready for week 4 on Monday. Would it be awful to repeat week 3?

TessTackle · 06/06/2014 11:54

Mitchy I prefer running in spring/summer even though I was dreading it!

feetheart · 06/06/2014 11:56

emummy - I agree with your total :)
With 3.8 from Mitchy and 5.7 from me this morning that should take us to 370.1

Quick one for all the Zoo Stampeders this w/e - the mobile reception at Whipsnade is WOEFUL If you are arranging to meet anyone before or after the race don't rely on your phone.

Runkittyrun · 06/06/2014 11:59

Hullo again
6km to add from me, 1km warm and 5km local league race last night. Waiting on the official results but should be 25:09 - 50 seconds quicker than last month's race and new PB. Quite pleased with that. The same race last year took 4 mins longer.

cinnamon I've put into do a stage, not sure whether I've got a place yet though. Most of the stages are further than I can run!

New total is 382.8 I think?

Runkittyrun · 06/06/2014 12:00

Oops cross post, so I think its 388.5?
