Thanks Cardiff - might go try some Asics and get on the old treadmill at Runnersneed.

I have personal trainer session at gym this afternoon which is not ideal on top of a run this morning but that's just the way it worked out this week. Should sleep well tonight anyway.

Morrigu · 04/06/2014 14:41

Funny I was looking for new trainers too from my brooks adrenaline. They are far too snug in the heat now as I misjudged how much my feet swell when it's warm and doing slightly longer distances. I love mine purely because they are turquoise Grin

12.2 to add so 290.8 . Was a bit stop/start for a couple of k though as I chose what was a nice country back road for a change of scenery but turned out to be a busy road with no footpath and lorries barrelling along it Shock Never again! I'm happy as due to having to arrange childcare to suit ex it suits me better and I get to go to parkrun this week and next week!

Morrigu · 04/06/2014 14:42

Sorry 290.2 dunno where I got the .8 from.

Blatherskite · 04/06/2014 15:42

3.5 k from me this lunchtime = 293.7

Theonlyoneiknow · 04/06/2014 15:46

On the off chance can anyone recommend some nice routes near North berwick? Hoping to keep up running when on hols!

Mitchy1nge · 04/06/2014 15:51

oh kms, just want to quickly add 3 MILES is not quite 5k but let's say it is

On stupid iPhone with barely any unbroken screen so will catch up later

emummy · 04/06/2014 15:53

original I over probate and have Saucony guide 7s; they are fabulous and bright blue, I adore mine. Enjoy your shoe shopping! Am doing an off road hill run race (not a very big hill) in August - do you think I might need trail running shoes? Could I convince dh they're necessary?!

emummy · 04/06/2014 15:54

Over pronate, silly I pad

KristinaM · 04/06/2014 16:21

IME Brooks shoes come up small, I need a full size bigger in them than in normal shoes. Saucony too.

Other brands I can wear a half size bigger

originalpiratematerial · 04/06/2014 21:28

Yes Kristina I wear a full size bigger in Brooks Adrenalin shoes also.

karatekimmi · 04/06/2014 21:57

Just done 6.6km with my running club, then had a lovely pint of cider afterwards.

300.3 if my maths is right. night all.

Mitchy1nge · 04/06/2014 22:01

or 305.3 with mine? cider sounds good!

orangeflutie · 04/06/2014 22:20

Hi I ran 4.55 miles earlier this evening. Seemed to be a bit faster than normal and felt goodSmile Going on holiday to Lanzarote on Fri for a week so not sure how much running I'll manage there. Will take running gear just in case.

Impressed with everyone else's running on here. Feel quite lazy on comparison as only seem to be able to fit in two runs a week at the moment.

originalpiratematerial · 04/06/2014 22:54

I have just joined the Facebook group, Run Mummy Run - to be honest I think it was a case of fat thumbs on iPhone as I didn't even realise I'd asked to join it! Just wondered if anyone else on here is also on there?

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 04/06/2014 23:15

Evening all.

Seems like lots of us managed to get out today and many kms gave been added to our total.

I just wanted to pop my head in and ask if any of you have a Garmin Forerunner 10?

I have been looking on Amazon this evening and they are well reviewed (they also come in lots of pretty colours) but I am hesitant to purchase without a personal recommendation from one of you fine ladies!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/06/2014 08:25

I started writing a post yesterday and it was lost Angry! Just about trainers, my first were the saucony grid 4's. I'm now neutral but I love brooks and will probably stick with them although I'm not sure what their support shoes for over pronation are called.

I forgot my alarm this morning so left my friend in the forest in the rain Shock. I woke at 6.15 when we usually meet so I called her and she ran to mine and I was out the door dogs and all but 6.23 so not too bad!!!!!

Adding 13.8 km for mine and orangefluties so total is 319.1, feel free to correct!

BetsyBell · 05/06/2014 10:07

6k from me this morning (my furthest run yet). My right knee started hurting after 4k - it's never happened before... eek. Now got an ice pack on it.

325

EauRouge · 05/06/2014 10:42

FINALLY got to the physio and it's a bit worse than I thought. My glutes are full of strains, my core is weak and puny so my back is the root of all the problems. Not sure when I can get running again but I mentioned the races I'd signed up for and she didn't make a face so I should be alright be then. Been given lots of exercises to do and told to sign up for Abs Blast at the local gym. It was not news to me that my core muscles are shit Grin but I cannot neglect them any more!

Fishandjam · 05/06/2014 11:09

I can help you become a right planker Eau Grin Good that you've got a diagnosis, at least. Did she show you good stretches?

ThursdayLast · 05/06/2014 12:15

eau I can recommend Pilates for core strength.
I've been doing it weekly for nearly a year and my core has never been stronger.

EauRouge · 05/06/2014 12:29

Thanks, I will check at the local gym. I tried yoga and quite liked the stretches but not so much the visualising inhaling the colour orange.

Fish, yep, I've been given some exercises to do, twice a day. Not likely with my memory Grin.

I'm a bit gutted that I won't be able to run on our holiday next week but also a bit relieved because it's super-hilly.

HalleLouja · 05/06/2014 16:17

Did 3.2km yesterday as am taking it easy before Whipsinade.

Total 328.2km. Definitely sounds better in km Grin

HalleLouja · 05/06/2014 16:18

Eau I do pilates weekly and it bores me totally but think it helps keep everything in line and strong. Mine is run by a physio.

ThursdayLast · 05/06/2014 16:32

Yes Halle I don't love love love my Pilates, but it certainly makes you mindful of your body and probably the only good stretch I get each week!

6.2 by the ReluctoDog and I this afternoon, so I make it 334.4

Standingonlego · 05/06/2014 17:21

Running has gone a bit by the way this week, but have parkrun on Sat and whipsnade on Sunday to look forward too.

Relieved i have done a couple of longer runs the last couple of weekend so know I can at least survive the 10k distance - but am not going to be breaking any records this weekend!

The KMs are really mounting up, will be back to add on mine in due course. I need to sort out my core strength too - 30 day shred was good (not that i ever got to day 30 Blush) and thinking about trying to catch up on the facebook 30 day Abs challeging thingy - anyone else doing it?
