I'm not too bad at remembering to stay hydrated fingers. Always brought a pint glass of water of bed with me since I can remember, although I do have a tendency to drink a lot of coffee throughout the day which probably doesn't help.

Headed out first thing this morning and managed to knock out 9k. Wasn't the easiest but easier and I was damned if I was going to let it beat me. Much more pleasant before the day gets hot again and ran into more than a few runners that must have had the same idea. To be as hot here as London today which is unusual so very glad I've been out and all. Feeling a lot more settled that I can do it. Phew! That makes it 1336.8

runkittyrun that is brilliant mileage there! When is your hm?

Right off for breakfast and to get back into gym clothes for my induction. I'll be able to watch the parkrunners through the windows which will be strange :)

BetsyBell · 31/05/2014 09:53

fingers good tip about drinking a load of water before getting out of bed. I hydrated properly before my run today and it went well. As I've decided to train up for 10k I'm actually pushing myself to run slightly more each time and clocked in 5.5k at a slightly faster time than usual. So that 3.4miles to add to the total:

1340.2

Runkittyrun · 31/05/2014 10:27

Morning all! Out early to beat the sun like morrigu, the sun decided to have a lie in.

Completed 13.42 miles, doing a part recce of the HM course for September. There's a hill towards the end (its mostly flat fen roads otherwise) so want to be prepared for that part.

Total is now 1353.6. I wonder if we can make it to 1500?

ThursdayLast · 31/05/2014 10:54

I've started doing that too fingers re drink the water that I always take to bed with me and usually throw away unless I'm hungover Grin

Adding my parkrun mileage to the total 1356.7

Mitchy1nge · 31/05/2014 11:36

am always excessively thirsty (lithium grrrrrrr) so I couldn't use that as a guide or I'd be waterlogged

find it hard to drink on the actual run though, not that have run far enough lately to need any. will my camelbak ever be needed again?

(day before juneathon and if I stick to The Plan I have 2 miles to spend today and nothing for tomorrow :()

Fishandjam · 31/05/2014 12:14

Total now 1362.9 - today's Parkrun plus 2x2.5k earlier in the week. Got a new PB at Parkrun too - 33:48! Beat the old one by 4 seconds Grin I know it's a slowcoach time by the general standard on here, but I'm pleased (and knackered!)

Fishandjam · 31/05/2014 12:15

Fen roads kitty? Are you in Cambs? (Or Somerset!)

originalpiratematerial · 31/05/2014 12:25

1366 as I waddled round the Doncaster parkrun this morning. Crap time but oh well.

originalpiratematerial · 31/05/2014 12:26

When I say crap time - I mean I had a really nice time and everyone was really friendly and the park is lovely - but i felt slow!

postmanpatscat · 31/05/2014 12:41

Well done on your PB fish! And don't compare yourself to others, it's your PERSONAL best so it doesn't matter what anyone else's is!

Sirzy · 31/05/2014 12:44

Back from my holiday so checking in with a hi!

Back to running tomorrow with any luck

5.1 miles from me this morning. Felt really hard work to start with but got easier and I could have done more by the end but I was back at my front door by then :)
I think I really need to concentrate on hydration generally as I don't like tea or coffee so don't tend to drink much and then wake in the middle of the night with a raging thirst, then I go running first thing Shock. Not sensible!

So plan for June:

  • Drink more water throughout the day
  • Slightly more organised training plan
  • 4 races

Total 1371.1

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 31/05/2014 12:55

Another 3.1 from me just now so that makes it 1374.2 Grin

It was a buggy run with the DTDs so slow, but I'm always bemused by how many "well dones" I get from people walking who I pass (which is lovely but I'm not really trying that hard Wink )

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 31/05/2014 13:00

1377.3 with my slow and steady parkrun Smile

Well done fish

fingersonbuzzers · 31/05/2014 13:43

Morrigu - well done on your 9k - so that's at least 3 x as far as your crappy run the other day! Ace, you haven't lost your touch!

Well done fish on your pr pb - that puts you in the running (pardon the pun) for the new trainers competition today doesn't it?

Degus - I'd be impressed by you running with twins too! What's it like running with a buggy, btw?

runkittyrun that's an impressive run this morning!

I did 10k this AM (the only point at which it's been sunny today was right in the middle of it - thanks for that!)

Going to pick my new trainers up from sweatshop later, sadly v excited!

1383.5 is our new total. When were we aiming for 1500 by - was it tomorrow? Eek!

Blatherskite · 31/05/2014 13:51

Morrigu I think I did your sucky run for you this morning. Glad yours was better :)

originalpiratematerial · 31/05/2014 14:09

Brilliant, morrigu and kitty and congrats on your PB, fishandjam!

Mitchy1nge · 31/05/2014 14:15

1383.5 is our new total. When were we aiming for 1500 by - was it tomorrow? Eek!

this is a bit more than the 2 or 3 miles left for me by The Plan Confused

originalpiratematerial · 31/05/2014 14:55

I'm afraid I'm not going to be putting any more miles on the clock this weekend - will be travelling back to London tomorrow.

Blatherskite · 31/05/2014 14:57

I don't think I added last week's parkrun and I haven't added this week's either so that's another 6 miles...

1389.5

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2014 15:55

That's great news Morrigu!!

Well done on your pb fishandjam!

I've got a parkrun to add too, new one for me and an enjoyable one, almost all grass which is very different for me! I was 77th which is new too and we usually don't get up to 60 in total Wink

1392.6

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 31/05/2014 17:05

Fingers- it's not too bad, I've got an out n about nipper double. I'm not even sure they make proper running double buggies Smile. I wouldn't like to do more than 5kms with it though as my back gets a bit sore (would possibly be helped by a taller push bar!)

thefemaleJoshLyman · 31/05/2014 17:26

I can add 14k from my runs this week and 5k from parkrun, so in total 11.8 miles.

Not been ariund much recently, had two lots of chickenpox, hand, foot and mouth and been away, the Lyman household has been manic!

Well done to everyone for all their running, I can't keep up with the thread.

Ran parkrun this morning and got new pb, really chuffed.

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2014 17:53

Sorry to hear about the illness and well done on your pb ThefemaleJoshLyman takes the total to 1404.4, so close!

roquefortlover · 31/05/2014 18:23

I have been woefully absent from these threads but on the plus side have been running quite a lot! Have only had a quick skim but will try to catch up later....meanwhile I have run a total of 33.8 miles this week according to garmin so that makes a new total of 1438.2 I think???
