Thanks Jackster. Minimise stress Grin easier said than done, I avoid melted butter/cheese etc also Holland and Barrett do a peppermint powder which you dissolve into warm water which helps settle the stomach. I keep cheap supermarket loperamide (Imodium) in the cupboard for when things get really bad

Jackster & Idkick, sorry to hear you're both having to deal with IBS. I'm pretty convinced DP has it but he doesn't feel a diagnosis is necessary because it means going to the drs.

Finally started feeling better at the beginning of the week. Monday I eased myself back in with Ripped L1, Tuesday I couldn't fit anything in, just walked into town, Weds I did KB Fastfix 1, Thurs - Shred It with Weights L1 and walked into town & back and yesterday I did Killer Abs 1. Think I'll do Killer Abs 2 this morning saves changing the DVD, and tomorrow I have a rare day to myself! DP & DS are off to Brands Hatch, and my parents are having DD for the day so I'll do something a bit longer before I attempt some proper housework without a 21 month old "helping". Might go for Bob's Pure Strength if I'm feeling brave, or a Hard Body. Have a great weekend!

Jacksterbear · 20/09/2014 21:23

Thanks for the tips idkick!

Glad you!re feeling better knotty. Sounds like a great week exercise-wise. Enjoy your day tomorrow and do get some rest/chill out time in as well if you can! Grin

Managed 25 mins on exercise bike today, as still not up to anything involving too much jiggling!!

knottyhair · 22/09/2014 06:33

Jackster, hope you're feeling a bit better. Idkick, hope you enjoyed your anniversary.
Had a nice day on my own yesterday, although it did feel very weird! I did Hard Body L1 in the morning, and then decided to give Yoga Inferno a go in the afternoon, thinking it would be a good stretch. Why I thought that, I'll never know! It is Jillian after all... Enjoyed it but it's really more like an aerobics session with some yoga moves thrown in. Apparently L2 involves weights.... Just finished the cardio workout from One Week Shred this morning - I really do not like workouts that are purely cardio but I need to shift my flabby tummy so forced myself - I am a ball of sweat! I don't have time to do the 2 workouts in one day so I'll give the strength workout a go another day. Plan for this week is:
Tues - KBFF 2 & walk to DD's music class
Wed - 3 or 4 circuits from NMTZ with 2 mins cardio inbetween each
Thurs - KBFF 3 & walk to town and back
Fri - Either Killer Abs 3 or half of a long Bob...

IdkickJilliansass · 22/09/2014 20:58

I love the sound of 'Half a long Bob' Grin I've been doing a lot of running recently but tomorrow I might do some mixed martial arts and a circuits class. Nearly October when I can finally get the ultimate JM box set! Love the sound of it, thanks Knotty Smile

Hi all! I was away at the weekend and are and drank too much (and the next few weekends are going to fairly 'social' too- eek! Will be on a diet in mid October I suspect ;-) Managed to do NMTZ on Friday before I left and went for a long hilly run in the sunshine in the Peak District on Sunday. Did Bobs Yoga yesterday to try and stretch myself out after the running. Plan to do the cross trainer tonight and no time for anything tomorrow. Thursday will be something involving weights- either Pure Strength or Cardio Rev I think.

Jacksterbear · 23/09/2014 17:15

Sounds like some good plans for this week!

(Also sniggering a bit at "half a long Bob", sounds rude somehow!)

Just done L2 Ripped, first "proper" exercise for a while! Will struggle to find much time this week (as DS has had to drop down to half days at school, long story), but will try to fit in whatever I can.

knottyhair · 23/09/2014 18:25

I'm not sure if I'd prefer half a long Bob or a whole short one Grin. I'd be wasting my time wishing for either anyway....
Did my KBFF L2 this morning as planned - man, it's hard to get going on these dark mornings. I have to exercise at about 5.45 on weekdays or I don't have time. Will allow myself the luxury of later workouts once DD starts pre-school NEXT September!

StuntNun · 24/09/2014 18:49

I don't know if it's of any use to people but my IBS completely cleared up when I switched to a low carb diet on the Mumsnet Bootcamp (next one starts 29 Sep). I fell off the wagon recently and started eating bread again and the IBS came back almost straight away and disappeared again when I went back to low carb.

I've been AWOL for a while since I ditched Jillian in favour of the Stronglifts programme. But it isn't working out for me as I've lost a lot of cardiovascular fitness and I've also lost definition on my arms and abs. So I think I need to try to reincorporate Ri30 into my exercise schedule somehow. I'm already doing Pilates once a week and kettlebells plus Stronglifts three times a week son it's going to be tricky to find more time.

babyinacorner · 24/09/2014 19:18

Had to share the news...j.m is coming to the UK with her maximise your life tour!!! Just booked to go and see her in January in cardiff. Can't wait already.Grin

Jacksterbear · 24/09/2014 19:35

knotty 5.45!!Shock That's dedication.

Nice to see you back stunt and thanks for the IBS tip. Interesting re losing definition as well as cardio fitness. Hope you find the right balance of workouts for you.

baby - exciting!

L3 Ripped done today. Ouch that!s hard!

IdkickJilliansass · 24/09/2014 21:33

Martial arts and a run for me today. Hope it's a great day Baby!

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 24/09/2014 21:36

Was the martial arts a class or a DVD idkick?

IdkickJilliansass · 25/09/2014 17:10

A dvd Smile Going for an 11k run tonight with a couple of friends so no circuits class for me

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 25/09/2014 17:16

Enjoy the run Smile.

Nothing for me today, but want to do all 4levels of Ripped this week so will hopefully do 1 tomorrow and 4 over the weekend.

knottyhair · 25/09/2014 18:51

You say 11k like it's nothing Idkick! Good luck with Ripped Jackster. Did Killer Abs 3 this morning - I'd say 6W6P is probably harder overall but there are some moves in this, like clapping mountain climbers Hmm that just baffle & defeat me! Enjoyed it though.

notyummy · 27/09/2014 15:32

Well I managed Cardio Rev on Thursday and a cross trainer session yesterday. DH and I did Bobs Pure Strength this morning (phew- thank goodness it's over!) Am staying at friends tonight and much wine will be drink so not sure what I will be doing tomorrow....

IdkickJilliansass · 27/09/2014 18:28

That was the longest run i've done so far and very proud Smile

OP posts:
StuntNun · 28/09/2014 12:36

Back on Ri30 L1D1 today. The Stronglifts programme must be working as I think I'm going to need heavier weights for some of the exercise but my cardiovascular fitness has declined so I was a sweaty mess by the end. I'm feeling good now, I hope it lasts and I don't get he dreaded delayed onset muscle soreness tomorrow.

knottyhair · 29/09/2014 05:45

Notyummy hope you enjoyed your Sat night - did you manage anything yesterday?? Idkick, you should be proud, that's brilliant! Stunt, hope you feel OK today.
I did half of Bob's Pure Strength on Friday, nothing Saturday after a night out Friday, may have had a couple of Cosmos although I did walk an hour to my mum's & back, 6W6P L1 yesterday. Plan for the week is:

Today - SIWW 1
Tues - Ripped 2 & walk to DD's music class
Weds - half of Bob's Ripped Core
Thurs - Shred L1 & walk to town & back
Fri - One week Shred cardio

Have a good week!

notyummy · 29/09/2014 07:36

I did not do anything yesterday!! I had also been out Friday night so was proud of myself doing all of bobs pure strength after 3 G and Tees and half a bottle of wine ;-) was an even bigger night on Saturday so nothing yesterday. Planning a run tonight and some strength tomorrow. Not sure what though!

IdkickJilliansass · 29/09/2014 10:29

I did nothing on Friday due to having major problems getting DD in to school (still panicking about sickgate) Saturday I went for a run and did some hip hop abs with weights, this morning I've been old school by doing NMTZ Grin

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 29/09/2014 12:11

Hello all - not been on here for a while but I have been JM'ing - NMTZ last week, I really like that. Did some windsurfing on saturday, still nowhere like as strong as my 15yo DD but better than I was at the start of the season.

Today I finally tried ES&S - was a bit surprised, the box says it's 2x45 mins but then in the intro she says it's 2x30 and it's best to do both. Well, that seemed a bit much so I just did L1. Liked some of it, but as I've never done either yoga or any martial arts quite a lot of the moves looked complicated so I had to keep rewinding and watching again. Will try it again tomorrow, but I think I prefer simpler moves where you can gradually increase the weights (probably why I like NMTZ - except I know I should do some cardio too)

Jacksterbear · 29/09/2014 16:23

I find ES&S a bit weird, errol. L1 is a bit easy but L2 is a huge jump up. I think the timings are 5min warmup, 30 min main workout, 10 min cool down; hence the 30/45 min discrepancy.

idkick Flowers Thanks I am a veteran of the school anxiety & refusal situation - are school offering any support? PM me if you'd like to.

Rubbish week last week - only did 2 workouts - life just got totally on top of me. Sad trying to do better this week. L1 Ripped done today.

Waves to notyummy, knotty, stunt and all on the thread. Good work all.
