100 press-ups idkick?! That's awesome, go you!

knotty Flowers get well soon. x

Did a tae-bo DVD yesterday thinking it would be a nice easy cardio workout - which it was, but had forgotten that there's lots of punching in it - and now my arms/shoulders/back, which were already aching from NMTZ, are really suffering!

Need to focus on legs today I think! Grin

IdkickJilliansass · 12/09/2014 19:57

The class leader uses a deck of card and each suit represents a different exercise ie 9 of clubs means 9 push ups so we did the whole pack and then did 10 more reps of each exercise to round up to a hundred. I'm in discomfort now especially since I went for a run and my thighs have seized up now I'm sitting down so I'm going to have some Wine

Hi ladies, nice to see you're all hard at it.
I'm still exercising but not as much as I would like. Work has gotten in the way.
Does anyone know If there's a dvd I can I get that has lots of punch and kick moves? I used to do a body combat class and I really miss it, wonder if there's something similar on dvd.

Jacksterbear · 14/09/2014 13:51

Sounds good fun idkick!

Welcome back spinning. I like Tae Bo which is a martial arts based DVD series from the 90s. It is pretty dated (there are some classic Lycra outfits!) but good fun.

My turn to be under the weather, with what I think is a mild tummy bug. Urghhh. So nothing this weekend but hoping to be back on form for Insanity class tomorrow!

IdkickJilliansass · 14/09/2014 14:14

I love Fight Fx 14.1, pure puncing and kicking!

OP posts:
notyummy · 14/09/2014 16:27

Very impressed with the 100 press ups!!

Would second the tae bo recommendation- I have a couple of Billy Blanks ones and they are good fun (but yes- quite cheesy :-)) Billys Bootcamp is pretty good.

Still plugging away here although still recovery from chest infection and had hideous migraine on Monday. That said, feelingicj better than a week ago. Managed NMTZ Tuesday, cross trainer Thursdays and Bobs pure strength Friday. 5 mile run yesterday and bobs yoga today. Will be time limited tomorrow so may do a Ripped.

spinningirl10 · 14/09/2014 17:20

Thanks ladies, will take a lookGrin

I did Bobs totally ripped today. I think that's my favourite at the moment.

spinningirl10 · 15/09/2014 10:07

Kick, that DVD you recommended looks fab, quite pricey though. Mighty have to wait for that one.

I realised I have the other one, it is quite fun but as you said quite cheesy!

IdkickJilliansass · 15/09/2014 12:02

Its my favourite in fact I did it this morning but yes its not cheap, I do also have 13.1 which was £3 I think but dont like it much

Still feeling crap so did not make it to Insanity class, booooo Sad.

ineedtogetupnow · 15/09/2014 20:07

Hi can I join in?! Have been doing 30ds for the last week, have it ages but never manage to get past a week on it so hoping this thread will motivate me. Mainly want to tone thighs and bum, is 30ds good for this or would another one be better? Needs to be relatively short as need something I can do quickly in the mornings before ds gets up and I have to get ready for work. Thanks Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 15/09/2014 20:36

Hello ineed - the first week is hardest, if you can get past that you should be able to keep going. I'd say its best to start with the Shred - you should be able to feel from the aches in your legs that its doing something! The JM one which focusses on lower body is Killer Buns and Thighs - I did that before my hols and it really did seem to have made a difference (proved by jeans shopping!) but I don't think I could have done it without having done shred and ripped in 30(quite a few times) before.

ineedtogetupnow · 15/09/2014 21:46

Thanks Errol, yes thighs have been aching for the last week hope it eases up soon! I'll stick with shed, haven't even made it off level 1 so don't think I'd be ready for the other one just yet. Level 2 looks scary!

ErrolTheDragon · 15/09/2014 21:55

It does ease up, honestly. Don't forget to have one or two rest days each week to let those aching muscles repair and rebuild!

ineedtogetupnow · 15/09/2014 22:09

I took a rest day today - this is where I usually fall off the wagon and have a rest "month" instead so need to make sure I do it in the morning!

ErrolTheDragon · 15/09/2014 22:54

We'll be expecting you! Smile

I find it helps to have planned rest days - for me its the weekends - rather than anything more ad hoc. Of course sometimes life intervenes but it might be easier to get going tomorrow if you know that you get another day off on Friday or whatever.

ineedtogetupnow · 15/09/2014 23:21

Yes I think I'll try that, was feeling like I should be doing something at the weekends but think it might be nicer to get it all done during the week and have the weekend free. I feel a bit silly but I made myself a 30 day calender this evening that I can tick the days off as I do them! Will check in tomorrow. Thanks for the encouragement! Smile

notyummy · 16/09/2014 14:55

Don't give up ineed! Just a word of warning- lots of people find the transition from L1 to 2 really quite hard- harder than 2 to 3. You might not, but if you do then at least you know you are not alone!

I'm about to do Bobs Workout. It's a bit of a killer and I'm not looking forward to it, but I know I will have a smug glow afterwards! I spent the weekend eating and drinking too much with visitors, which has been the theme of late. In general I am feeling slightly lumpier than usual! Part of it may be hormonal. Decided to give myself a few days before I step on the scales to see if things even themselves out...

Jacksterbear · 16/09/2014 15:10

ineed keep going, you're doing really well! How did you get on today? Agree with notyummy that L2 Shred is a tough one, not to scare you off but just so you are prepared!

How was Bob today, notyummy?

I can't shake off this illness and am still feeling pretty under the weather but have managed a Davina DVD (which I reserve for when I'm not up to facing Jillian, Shaun etc!).

IdkickJilliansass · 16/09/2014 17:18

Sorry to hear that Jackster and welcome Ineed. I've done some Shaun T and going for a 10k run with a friend later instead of circuit class as the wolf run is creeping nearer and nearer Smile

IdkickJilliansass · 17/09/2014 11:17

L1&2 of ES&S done

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 17/09/2014 12:11

ineed - the calendar isn't silly at all. Though I'd say to anyone starting, decide if you want to do it 5 or 6 days a week - then the 30 days maps to 6 or 5 weeks respectively.

Jacksterbear · 17/09/2014 15:33

Well, I went to the GP with my tummy bug and came away with a diagnosis of IBS. Which makes sense as I always get these upset stomachs in times of stress! Relieved to have an answer anyway.

Still feeling crap but managed 3 circuits of my Pilates DVD (which sounds all zen-like but actually bloody burns!). Grin

Hope you're all well and keeping Jillian company for me until I can return to her!

L1 and 2 is good work idkick. I've never managed them both together. L2 is bad enough on its own!

IdkickJilliansass · 17/09/2014 19:31

I have IBS Jackster so I can sympathise, it's rubbish Thanks It's my wedding anniversary tonight so I knew loads of food and bubbles would be on the menu so I had that in mind whilst I forged through both levels, I did find my enthusiasm waning towards the end Grin
