Fab progress voscar - nice one!

30ds L1d8 done this morning. I definitely think my tummy pooch is starting to wobble a little bit less through the butt kicks as time goes on Grin Still rubbish at push ups, though.

Fight FX DVD and No more trouble zones done

Hi all! Back from a camping weekend. Managed NMTZ before I went on Thursday and then did 30 mins if Pilates in the tent on Friday. Rest day on Saturday and did some Bob Harper on return yesterday, which nearly killed me as was tired and hungover. Still not back up to full form today so will stick to cross trainer I think and get back to something more challenging tomorrow.

errol- on press ups a good option to strengthen yourself is to do them (in full press up position) on the stairs. Put your feet on the ground and choose a stair where you can do 5/10 and keep working at it everyday until you feel it's easier. Then nice down a stair- it gets harder progressively as you get closer to the horizontal position you need for full press ups. They are worth it- there a few other exercises that work as many muscle groups as effectively. On the knees is better than nothing, but is no way as effective at toning core and glutes/lower back as a full press up. Most women find them harder than men but it can be done- honestly. Over the years I have worked at them and am proud of my press up prowess now ;-)

ErrolTheDragon · 28/07/2014 21:35

notyummy - yes, I do inclined pressups. I was working my way down earlier in the year but then had a bit of a back problem which stopped me for a bit. And then I realised when I started again I'd not had good form so went back to a higher level. I've been a bit lax with doing them over the last couple of weeks... need to get back to it.

Voscar - jeans are the true test! I've been resigned to bootcut for years but bought 3 pairs of a size smaller pretty narrow straight recently - one pair I decided looked tight round the back of the thigh when I got them home, but yesterday tried them on and they looked fine... despite my weight apparently being a little up from when I'd bought them, but after 2 weeks of KB&T ! Grin

I didn't get time to exercise today - had to go with DH to pick up his new car and then of course he wanted to take it for a bit of a drive and we ended up having lunch out (was meant to be a fast day too). Must be good tomorrow.

Appliedapple · 28/07/2014 23:21

30ds L1D8 today. Doesn't seem to be getting any easier, but then I am doing it the slow way, with rest days in between.

That's a great tip about the inclined press-up - thanks notyummy!

StuntNun · 29/07/2014 07:48

Apple you can always stay on level 1 until you've nailed it.

spinningirl10 · 29/07/2014 09:54

Hey ladies I'm back Grin

I've been on holiday for 2 weeks and I seriously need to get back to some exercise!!!!

Italy is beautiful but cakes for breakfast is not good for my waistline!!

So as of today I'm back on Mfp and fitting in what exercise I can. With 5 students in the house it's tricky so will probably be running/cycling but will still check in here.

How are you all doing, good to see you're all still at it Grin

IdkickJilliansAss · 29/07/2014 15:12

Did my 40 mins on the cross trainer yesterday and 60 Sec Promise today. Short of time tomorrow so may just fit in 30 mins of something. Been watching the Commonwealth Games gymnastics today- both men's and women have been amazing.

spinningirl10 · 29/07/2014 20:55

Hi Kick, missed you toGrin

We're laying turf in our garden so have spent most of the day moving loads of gravel.....think that's enough exercise for me today!

ErrolTheDragon · 29/07/2014 22:16

L3 of KB&T this morning - some impossible bits (one-legged mountain climbers Confused) but not too bad on the whole. Did quite a lot of inclined pushups too, and then this evening we walked about 4 miles - only just had dinner, DH is amazed I can fast all day and still function!

IdkickJilliansAss · 30/07/2014 15:50

Martial arts, cleaning out the junk ridden car and rooting around in the loft and drawers for various clothes and cases is enough for me today!

Good point stuntnun I'm going on holiday next week so I think I will need to do remedial level 1 for a bit when I get back.

Today was L1 D9. Was wondering why I'm not making much progress on fitting into my clothes better, so I downloaded myfitnesspal, and lo and behold I have the reason - my god, crisps are ridiculous!

IdkickJilliansAss · 30/07/2014 20:38

Love MFP!

Still here - reading!

L130DS done. Had a break for some swimming and biking :)

V impressed by what you are all up to :)

tiggyhop · 30/07/2014 22:20

Hello all - have done 3 days of level 1 of JM's 30 day shred - can I join you? It actually isn't too bad. Have it on the ipad so I am taking JM on holiday next week!

Lullabylullaby · 30/07/2014 22:41

I'm on D3 L1 too and actually enjoying it. Never thought I would say that about exercise. Is anyone doing any other exercises or following any diets. I'm not but thought about joining a spinning class also...is it too much?

StuntNun · 31/07/2014 07:27

Lullaby I do intermittent fasting and follow the Mumsnet low carb Bootcamp.

notyummy · 31/07/2014 07:40

Good morning! Great to see the new joiners :-) Those going on holiday, it's always good to keep up some sort of exercise routine so you don't lose fitness, but also so it becomes part of your life and not something that stops and starts. You can rip JM onto an iPhone for instance and with things like Burn Fat Boost Metabolism or most or L1 Extreme Shed and Shred you don't need weights.

Did 60 Sec Promise on Tuesday but only time for L1 S and S yesterday- used heavy weights though! Sterling myself to do 'Bobs Workout' this evening. Gulp. It's hard!!

spinningirl10 · 31/07/2014 08:20

Lullaby, I use mfp to track calories, it's fab. I just try to eat well, no junk, lots of protein and salad/veg. Fell off the wagon on my hols in Italy, eating lots of pastries for breakfast and then pizza/pasta which I never eat. Put on 10lb despite walking miles everyday. But I've already lost 4lb so I hope it won't take long to get it off.

Lullabylullaby · 31/07/2014 08:45

thanks for the tips....I have used MFP before and I'm trying to eat healthly. Weekends are harder to stay healthy as kids are always baking treats. i was running before I started 30D Shed but i find it so boring doing the same thing...I like to change things up. I've got 7lbs more to lose so hoping 30D shed will help. There is a deal at the local gym for 30 days so might join that and do spinning during the week.

ErrolTheDragon · 31/07/2014 11:43

Lullaby - take some measurements, don't just go by the scales if you're doing shred and similar. A lot of us find we lose inches more than weight because we're gaining lovely dense muscle while losing fat - so you may find that you get to the shape/size you want before you've lost 7lb.

I had to drop DH at the station this morning, then do some shopping and I've got work I need to finish before going on holiday so I haven't exercised yet... not sure if I will or not now. But I can do it tomorrow and maybe Saturday as well, when DH is off to pick up DD from her summer camp leaving me to clean up the house and pack (he's made a list of chores he's got to do too, I hasten to add). And for sure I should be getting plenty of exercise on holiday - there's way more opportunities on offer on a Neilson holiday than anyone could pack into a day!
