No JM tonight as we walked up a hill today for a couple of hours and I'm shattered now. I was wearing my 20 month old son on my back and we got all the way up to the top undetected by mud, brambles and nettles. Job's a good 'un!

StuntNun · 22/07/2014 22:37

*undeterred by mud etc.

IdkickJilliansAss · 23/07/2014 08:35

Now thats a workout Stunt!

Ouchy calves this morning though!

IfYouCouldSeeMeNow · 23/07/2014 11:30

I did killer abs level 1 again last night. It was painful! Sweated so much that it was dripping off me.

Tonight I'll try running again. I have to be careful due to the conditions, so I'll do 3 x 2 minutes with a 2 minute rest between each, I think. Not long, but enough.

My diet is okay, I think. I have two yoghurt for breakfast. Soup for lunch, usually followed by gluten free popcorn (the 120 calorie stuff) in the evenings. then a fish fillet and fish cake for tea.

Need to increase fruit and veg, but calorie wise I think it's not too bad.

You lot are so inspiring. Maybe I can do this in time.

IdkickJilliansAss · 23/07/2014 14:08

You can Ifyou you are already inspiring us too! I was going to use nap time to do NMTZ but my new DVD (mixed martial arts) came today so i've done that and i'm a sweaty mess. It is broken up in to 4-5 sections and has the timer I like and is HIIT, Strength and conditioning; it also has a fitness test so you can track progress

notyummy · 23/07/2014 17:41

ifyou- sounds like you are doing really well, especially given the fact you are managing some challenging conditions.

That martial arts DVD sounds tough i'dkick

I did both levels of 'bobs workout' yesterday. It was sooooo hard. In the second bit the bloke keeps on slacking off so it's not quite as bad, but the first one is nasty!! Did 45 mins on the cross trainer today and plan to do NMTZ tomorrow before I depart for 3 nights camping with limited exercise options and lots of eating and drinking! May try some Pilates but few

IdkickJilliansAss · 23/07/2014 18:42

Zac is auch a wuss! You could wipe the floor with him Notyummy Grin

OP posts:
notyummy · 23/07/2014 19:32

Zac is indeed a wuss. He's a bit rubbish in the Cardio Rev one as well- always the one not holding the squat properly or some such. I think he's only in there because Bob fancies him....

IdkickJilliansAss · 23/07/2014 21:28

I didn't realise he was gay, theres a man called Angel in ripped core that isnt as good as the women that he favours

Jacksterbear · 23/07/2014 21:42

Loads of great work going on! Am going to have to purchase a Bob DVD, just so I can keep up with the gossip Grin.

My fave JM workout, Ripped L 2, done today. "Two minutes of cardio in plank? Who does that?! ME, that's who!"

StuntNun · 23/07/2014 22:27

Ri30 L1D2 done and I'm getting back into the swing of it. I want my abs back, that 30 second plank is tough now. I'm definitely getting better at press ups though although the improvement is sloooow.

Appliedapple · 24/07/2014 13:46

30ds L1D7 today. So good to hear of others' improvements - v.inspiring. I'm doing ok on the cardio and leg stuff, but my arms are pathetic! I'm like a tyrranosaur - huge butt and puny little arms Grin.

Jacksterbear · 24/07/2014 14:22

Me too, apple Grin

Good work apple and stuntnun.

Ripped L 3 just done. Ouchy on the triceps!

Off on hols on Sat. Need to decide which exercise DVDs to take!

Calfon · 24/07/2014 15:07

So glad to have found you ladies - can I join in? Finished the 30ds about 2 weeks ago. I'm away on hols at the moment and my good intentions to continue have evaporated in the heat. Going to start again on my return home but this time with heavier weights (was using .5kg) and am going to take measurements as a motivational tool. I love GM and was amazed how easy it was to fit it in. Smile Smile

IdkickJilliansAss · 24/07/2014 17:10

The more the merrier! Grin at T/Rex!! No JM today as I have circuits in the park this evening, everyone takes their older kids and they play in the playground whilst we exercise on the grass watching them, perfect

Hello all
Sorry I've been AWOL from MN for a while - had a lot of work so went cold turkey, but I've been Jillianing pretty consistently. I've just done L2 of KB&T, which I enjoyed more than L1, though it was too hot this morning and I really did phone it in on some of the cardio type things - got through 3 pints of fluid during it. Will see what L3 is like next week... then two week's holiday.

Still trying and failing to do full push ups. Hmm Not quite sure why I decided to do KB&T now rather than something with more upper body/core, which I probably need more but heigh-ho - I'm finally out of bloody bootcut jeans and into straight legs, my thighs are definitely a lot less thunderous yet stronger! Smile

IdkickJilliansAss · 25/07/2014 17:34

Nice to see you Errol Smile I liked KB&T even L3. Last nights class was a 'Chipper' where you have to do a hundred reps each of 5 different exercises plus 10 shuttle sprints so you could do ten reps of each then one run 'chipping' 10 off the hundred and so on iyswim! It was fun if a little relentless. Today I swam with the kids so mainly treading water and have done my martial arts dvd again so I think thats me done for the day

StuntNun · 25/07/2014 18:03

Errol what I've been doing to improve my press ups, and I have no idea whether this is really bad for you or not. I lie on my front in lower press up position with my toes on the ground but my hands just off the floor. Then I put my hands on the floor and push myself up into a plank with my arms straight. It isn't a proper press up as I'm starting from the floor and my body bends when I do it but I figure it's still working the shoulder muscles and triceps so it will strengthen them over time.

voscar · 25/07/2014 20:12

Can I join you lovely ladies?

Hands up, I had never heard of JM. Or even knew there was an exercise forum on mumsnet...oh the shame! Until approx 35 days ago when I started the 30 day shred.

I've now completed it, 9.5lbs lost and a definite change in body tone. I'm a total JM convert!

Tonight I am about to embark on day one if ripped in 30. Would love to hear how others have gotten on with it?

I go on holiday in 6 weeks time an am still about 11lbs from bikini weight - eek!

StuntNun · 25/07/2014 20:54

Voscar Ri30 is a great follow up to the Shred. In your first level 1 workout you'll be thinking this is way too easy until you hit the third set and the sweat starts dripping off you. I think level 1 is a really good back to basics after the Shred but I did feel the need to add additional weights for the butt kicks, boxing etc. because I was already used to that. The Hollow Man is a b*stard though so I do leg raises instead.

ErrolTheDragon · 25/07/2014 23:21

Voscar - it's addictive (but in a good way). 6 weeks is perfect timing to get through Ri30 with rest days. Don't worry too much about 'bikini weight' - if you've lost that much weight while shredding, you will have actually lost considerably more fat than that cos you'll have gained some muscle which is denser. Tape measure and clothes fit are really a better guide than scales.

voscar · 26/07/2014 06:55

Stunthenun - that's exactly what I thought! Good idea about adding the weights - I thought about doing that but held off because I didn't know what else was coming! Might add them tonight though.

voscar · 26/07/2014 06:55

Errol

voscar · 26/07/2014 06:59

Sorry stupid phone! Error I stupidly forgot to measure myself before and I'm mid house move so have packed the tape measure. Grrr. However I have dropped a clothes size! Yay! I have a box of skinny jeans I can't fit and those are my real measure I think!
