Not pathetic at all Daddy 3kg is heavy and holding weight overhead is hard imo. Bob's workout use's kettlebells and dumbbells but I just used a DB, the other two BH dvd's use only dumbells. You have loads on your plate Spinning exciting times though!

EarSlaps · 25/05/2014 10:27

NMTZ with 3kg is fantastic! I usually line my weights up- some moves in it I find easy with my 4kgs, others practically impossible with my 2kgs! The shoulder and tricep exercises are where I'm weakest, then biceps but I'm quite strong in the chest.

Like the sound of that bob DVD.

Move sounds exciting but exhausting spinning.

I predict I will struggle to fit in lots of exercise over half term.

IdkickJilliansAss · 25/05/2014 10:38

Me too Earslaps I always have 2kg, 3kg and 5kg to hand (dont know happened to 4kg!) Same here as well re half term although i'm lucky that DH starts work early and leaves early so can take them somewhere whilst I get a session in

Hello there, just finished Day 2 of Level 1 shred. Ouch! Powered through after the pain of yesterday as advised somewhere else... is that the right thing to do? Loving the post exercise burn though. Will get onto C25K when muscles are less tender!! All very exciting.

Jacksterbear · 25/05/2014 15:11

Dolores well done for getting started. As I recall, the aching is worst on days 2-3 and eases up after that!

Yep I will struggle to work out in HT too although my mum is coming for a couple of days so should fit in at least 2 sessions plus the weekend.

L1 Es&s done this a.m, followed up by a karst pub lunch for wedding anniversary. Grin

Jacksterbear · 25/05/2014 15:12

Oops, that shld have been lardy pub lunch.

IdkickJilliansAss · 25/05/2014 16:40

Well done Dolores It should ease up after a couple of days. Congrats Thanks Jackster how many years? Hope the lunch was nice, i'm having a total rest day today.

Hi, I just want to say hello to my fellow JM fans. I love her DVDs; I have BFBM, NMTZ, 30DS, RI30, KB&T, 6WK6PK and YM and although I've done the shred in it's entirety a few times I mostly just pick a different DVD each day to stop me getting bored.

I have a holiday coming up in a couple of months so in theory I'd love to do 6WK6PK each day along with another DVD but in reality that won't happen with a nearly one year old! I can't decide whether to do the full 6 weeks or carry on alternating DVDs.

YM is a new addition - I've only done level 1 once. I'm not sure about it to be honest, it didn't feel like I'd exercised so I'll try level 2 next. Although yoga/ Pilates appeal to me in theory as they're supposed to make you leaner; if I have to stop exercising for a week or so for some reason I definitely look slimmer, even though I only use light weights.

How many rest days do you all have? I know you're supposed to have at least one but I really enjoy my exercise; I have to force myself to have rest days.

BetterWithCheese · 26/05/2014 12:13

hedge maybe do the yoga one as a rest day? I've been having one or two days off depending on the week. I've been doing 30DS in five day chunks then a day off then another five days.

I finish 30DS next week, then I'm on holiday for a week and I'm undecided what to do when I get back. I think I'm going to try and alternate BFBM and NMTZ for six weeks and see how that goes. I'll probably also start going to a postnatal Pilates class (because it's free!).

hedgehogy · 26/05/2014 14:36

That's a good idea, Better - thanks.

I love BFBM but find it the toughest out of the DVDs I have (and it seems so long compared to the others), so credit to you for considering alternating that with only one other DVD for six weeks!

IdkickJilliansAss · 26/05/2014 16:06

I'm always a melted pudfle after BFBM!

I've got some kettlebells (6kg and 9kg, odd because they usually go up in fours) and just did both levels of Shred it with weights. L1 was relatively easy but L2 was more difficult with less instruction. I enjoyed it and worked up quite a sweat.

BetterWithCheese · 26/05/2014 17:21

Well hedgehogy I'll have to see how it goes, but I like to aim high Wink

Idkick that sounds tough. I like the look of that one but I don't want pay for kettle bells just yet. I had a look at adjustable weight ones which are £80+.

IdkickJilliansAss · 26/05/2014 18:20

That's the best place to aim Better Smile I got cast iron ones from sport and ski, they were 14.99 and 19.99.

Sorry for falling off the thread, I had a crisis with DS3's sleep last Sunday night and I haven't done anything for a week so everything's gone all saggy. Confused

IdkickJilliansAss · 26/05/2014 18:53

How old is he Stunt?

OP posts:
StuntNun · 26/05/2014 19:49

18 months Idkick. It turns out that in addition to the egg and dairy intolerances we knew about, he is also soya intolerant and we had Chinese food last Sunday which must have been full of soya, I'm assuming soy sauce was the culprit. He's been off soya since last Monday and the change is amazing: he's sleeping better, his mood is improved and his eczema is clearing up. Today he sat and watched TV with his brother while I put out the washing! This would never have been achievable before. Anyway DH is back tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to JM again. I might fall into a bowl of berry crumble tonight once the kids are all in bed.

IdkickJilliansAss · 26/05/2014 20:09

Thats really freaky, my 3rd child (DS) is 17 months and allergic to egg whites and dairy plus last week he threw a big allergy to Brazil nuts! I feel your pain, sleepless nights drain most of your energy and whats left goes on the other kids when they wake at the crack of dawn

OP posts:
StuntNun · 26/05/2014 20:14

Actually my 11yo slept until nearly noon today! I couldn't believe it. The downside was it was too late to give him his Ritalin as it's a long lasting dose so he has been twitchy and annoying all day. My mum said next time give him his medicine at the usual time and let him go back to sleep! D'oh why didn't I think of that?

StuntNun · 26/05/2014 20:15

Is your DS allergic or intolerant Idkick? Intolerances are a pain but I imagine allergies are downright scary.

IdkickJilliansAss · 26/05/2014 20:43

Intolerant to dairy (hives etc) but appears allergic to Brazils, his throat seemed to close up a causing his coice to go all croaky and he was covered in blotches, took him to GP who said now he is sensitised next time could be worse. Egg whites make his eyes swell up and itch, he used to have excema but not anymore

OP posts:
StuntNun · 26/05/2014 22:40

Eek. How did you find out about the brazils? My biggest worry at the moment is that there are yet more things that DS3 is reacting to.
