I'm still here and reading :)

Still JM-ing too but feel too pathetic to post as only doing it three times a week.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/05/2014 14:40

We got out early for a walk this morning (gorgeous weather today, but forecast crap for the next couple) so I missed my JM session. Think I should go and do a bit of free weights at least.

StuntNun · 21/05/2014 14:41

That's all I do DaddyPig, it took me 74 days to do the 30 day shred!

IdkickJilliansAss · 21/05/2014 14:50

Nothing pathetic about that Daddy! We miss you, hows the pregnancy treating you?

Jacksterbear · 21/05/2014 18:33

I'm still here lurking, and exercising (and on a mission to get rid of a pesky half stone which seems to have crept on Angry) but not posting much as doing mostly Shaun T rather than JM at the moment. Having said that, did Shred L1 today with 3kgs weights.

daddypig 3x pw is not bad going!

Earslaps you're doing well to be dropping down to 3kgs! And theonly well done on that double!

oohdaddypig · 21/05/2014 20:05

Aw, nice to speak to you all again :)

Feel pretty crap and sick - the usual! Exercise makes me feel better but I kind of make up my own JM routine whilst DH does his kettlebell DVD so I fear I'm omitting the ones I hate!

3 kg weights are as high as I go - pregnant or not! You lot are very tough. Will have to check out Shaun t - another American? I have to say that JM is very doable given its only 20 minutes.

How are all the injuries?

knottyhair · 22/05/2014 05:41

Hi everyone! I'm still here as well - just haven't had time to post. Shoulder gradually improved. Did Shred It With Weights L1 on Tuesday for the first time - I like it! Nice to do something new. I just used the lighter kettle bell (4kg) for the whole thing to see how I went - it was plenty for some of the moves but could use the 8kg for some other stuff. 10 mile walk yesterday, nothing today, hopefully either Ripped 3 or SIWW L2 tomorrow - depending on how motivated I feel - it's my 46th birthday tomorrow and I'm not entirely comfortable with entering my "late 40s" Grin. Oohdaddy, sorry you're feeling so sick but it's great that you're keeping up the exercise - you are a strong lady!

oohdaddypig · 22/05/2014 15:32

knotty - 46 isn't late 40s - it's still mid 40s in my book. Anyway if you look as fit as you sound I bet you don't look anything like your age. :)

Please keep reporting back on shed it with weights as its on my long term agenda as I love kettles.

RI30L1 done, using 3kg weights. Felt a bit breathless but energised by it. Just as well really as have eaten my body weight in food today :)

Jacksterbear · 22/05/2014 16:44

Good to hear the SIWW feedback knotty.

Agree re mid 40s. I've just turned 37 and am definitely still mid 30s! Grin

Shred L2 done today. Had to drop to 2kgs for those bastard v raises but otherwise 3kgs.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/05/2014 18:30

Had to go somewhere this morning (medical thing, nothing important just took a long time Hmm) so missed my JM. First time in ages I've neither walked nor JMd.

Age is just a number... I'm 53. fitter and leaner than I've been for decades and stronger than I've ever been.

So happy birthday knotty!

Fancy the SIWW - I don't have any kettlebells, can you do it with dumbells?

EarSlaps · 22/05/2014 22:25

Happy birthday knotty!

I am a mere 34, so pleased to know I will be kicking arse for a long time yet! I am still early 30s I think, though only about 8 weeks until I'll become mid thirties.

No exercise today after a difficult night last night. I usually do about 3-5 workouts a week so I feel very lazy compared to you lot. Then again, I usually do two miles a day of school run with a 2st toddler on my back!

knottyhair · 23/05/2014 06:42

Oohdaddy, Ripped with 3kg is no mean feat! I definitely feel fitter than I did at 40, and I weigh about 2 stone less. But still not quite back to where I was before my surprise massive bloody shock pregnancy at 44. Getting there!
Jackster, good going with 3kg! Level 2 is my least favourite level, those arm raises are killers!
Errol, great to know you are JMing in your 50s, really hope I will be too. You can do SIWW with dumb bells, not sure but I think a couple of the moves might be a bit awkward with them though? But the "easy" version on the DVD is done with them (not that dumb bells make it easier).

Earslaps, that school run definitely counts. I only tend to do JM (or Bob) 4 or 5 times a week (lots of walking usually on other days).

Thanks for all the birthday wishes - I've just given myself the present of doing L2 SIWW. Tough going in places! Enjoyed it though, nice to do something different Smile. And I can now eat cake later and a curry tonight. Have a lovely weekend!

Jacksterbear · 23/05/2014 07:33

Happy bday knotty; enjoy your cake and curry!

Errol it's inspiring to think that being strong and ripped can carry on into one's 50s (really hope that doesn't sound insulting, it's not meant to!). Smile

IdkickJilliansAss · 23/05/2014 13:26

Happy birthday Knotty!

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 23/05/2014 13:36

Hope you enjoyed the Cake, knotty.
I think at some point I'll get SIWW and try it first with dumbbells so that I can get an idea what size kettlebells I'd need if I decide to get some.

EarSlaps · 23/05/2014 14:07

SIWW is now on my to buy list.

Might do the beginner kettlebell class near me tomorrow, though out for dinner tonight so will have to see how I feel after that!

Just did Ripped L4, struggled as still had a tummy full of cake from a lovely cafe trip with ds2.

oohdaddypig · 23/05/2014 15:32

errol that's inspiring and I really hope to only get fitter and stronger as I age. I was superfit pre DCs but in actually not very strong and prone to injury. I now have no time but I am definitely stronger and I love how it makes me feel.

Happy birthday knotty! Have a lovely day.

IdkickJilliansAss · 23/05/2014 16:33

NMTZ and BH's totally ripped core done. What an inspiring bunch of people! I'm 32 and much fitter now than in my twenties

OP posts:
spinningirl10 · 24/05/2014 07:11

Hi ladies Grin

Knotty good to hear you enjoyed SIWW.

So many positive stories on here. I'm 42 and I'm pretty pleased with my shape now which feels goodGrin

I still haven't done any JM or anything else but I am still madly cleaning everything in sight in the new house! How can it have been so filthy! It's a huge house with an annex and big untidy garden and I haven't even started on the garden yet! Anyway, this weekend I will be painting and we move on TuesdayGrin I'm fed up of being between houses now! I've been taking loads of boxes every time I go to new house......my van blew up on thurs, mid journey! It just stopped and black smoke was coming out of it so I shouted to the kids 'quick get out'!! Seems funny now but was a bit scary at the time!
Anyway, sorry about the super long post, just thought I'd update and say I am still around and I'll be back JM'ing soon!!! Can't wait to try my ST dvdGrin

spinningirl10 · 24/05/2014 07:13

Haha don't know who ST is! I meant Bob HarperGrin

IdkickJilliansAss · 24/05/2014 09:29

God how scary spinning thank goodness you got out! Hope the rest goes smoothly Smile I'm aching today, especially in the armpit muscle (don't know the technical name)

OP posts:
IdkickJilliansAss · 24/05/2014 13:05

Tried Bob Harpers 'Bobs Workout' today. It is broken into two half hour workouts but the screen timer is missing in this one, in the first half he has a woman helping and she makes a lot of noise which I found slightly distracting and in the second half it's Zack from Bob's cardio, he struggles a lot towards the end often just standing there (his weights are damn heavy!) but Bob gets things back on track. I enjoyed this but 'totally ripped core' is definately my favourite as it is changing my least favourite part of my body Smile

OP posts:
oohdaddypig · 24/05/2014 21:56

idkick does the bob workout use hand weights or kettles?

Managed most of NMTZ with 3 kg weight. Really struggled with the surrenders with those weights. Am I pathetic?!

Jacksterbear · 24/05/2014 23:14

Not at all daddypig - NMTZ with 2kgs nearly kills me! Grin well done on the 3kgs.

Congrats on the house move, spinning. And on the abs progress i'dkick!

L2 es&s done today. Not as bad as I remembered it being!

spinningirl10 · 25/05/2014 07:34

Ooh ripped core sounds like something I need to try kickGrin

I have to admit defeat with any proper exercise! Despite my good intentions I'm just too busy! And with stuff split between 2 houses its hard. More painting for me today. Will deffo be back to exercise after Tuesday Grin
