Does anyone else use Endemondo and want to become friends?

The long weekend run was in glorious weather (see pic) but tonight's run home will be in drizzle :-( I love running when I am doing it but find it hard to get motivation sometimes to get ready to go out!

Well done those who have entered the marathon ballot! I am in awe!

I did a little Pilates and low impact cardio-ish on Sunday Briteside, and my knee ached even more!
Swimming might be the key, and I have my proper pilates lessons starting again soon, I'm sure my teacher will help me

HalleLouja · 22/04/2014 17:29

I have no pilates tonight Sad. It is the most boring thing but good for me.

I have also had no HIIT for the last two Mondays. I miss that too.

EauRouge · 22/04/2014 18:54

newday, I have a rowing machine but I probably shouldn't even be using that at the moment. I shall probably just work on my core strength and sulk a lot. Sulking burns a lot of calories.

EauRouge · 22/04/2014 18:55

Well jel (is that what the kids say these days?) of the scenery where you are, Theonly.

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 22/04/2014 19:10

Is that why most teenage girls are so skinny Eau?
All that sulking keeps their weight down! Wink

newdayandmorenewpants · 22/04/2014 19:17

aaah so that's why DP is so much slimmer than me Wink I'll have to try his diet I reckon Grin

Sirzy · 22/04/2014 19:18

I need to sulk more!

Thanks eau I did move away to Uni (550 miles to the opposite end of the country), then lived abroad for a few years prior to meeting DP and having DC, but seemed to be drawn back to where I grew up. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing to have ended back up in the village where I went to primary school!

I managed to knock 3 minutes off my 8km run home from the DCs nursery (DP drops me off and gets the DC) so am pleased but could be down to having to stop for less cars to pass, or one of the many gates I run through already being open!

I need to sulk more too!!!

The haar (sea fog) and drizzle are in so a miserable evening here. Good excuse to scoff some more Easter egg and watch Homeland Smile

originalpiratematerial · 22/04/2014 19:59

Hello Polly and well done Smile!

I think I've been a bit stupid. Had personal trainer session at the gym at lunchtime, worked quite hard but felt ok in the afternoon and as I haven't been out since Sunday, I decided to run home. The first two miles were fine, then the back of my right knee started to hurt and despite numerous walking breaks, it was really too painful to run at all any more after four miles so I had to walk the rest of the way. Finally got in to find that DS3 is poorly (he's doing that thing that emetophobes). First day back to school today, looks like he's going to be off until Friday if not the rest of the week. So not great all round. Going to have to spend a lot of the evening resting my leg on a bag of frozen peas Hmm.

Good luck all of you who have entered the ballot. You crazy wimmin!

What's WR - Women's Running?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 22/04/2014 20:56

Eau thank you for the Fen Drayton flier. I'm toying with doing the MK half on 5 May, so will probably give it a miss - good luck!

DeterminedMama · 22/04/2014 22:09

Decided to set myself a challenge and am looking to sign myself up to the Blenheim 10km run in October. Is anyone local? Ideally my goal would to be to do a half marathon next year (Silverst

DeterminedMama · 22/04/2014 22:10

Argh need to stop pressing send early! Maybe Silverstone half next March. Anyway, one step at a time! Anyone near Blenheim/surrey way?

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 22/04/2014 22:33

Hey determinedmama, when is the Blenheim 10k? Beginning or end of Oct? I have great south run at the end but would consider Blenheim if it's in the first week as it is quite local to me. Smile
Bad luck pirate, I hope the peas are helping!

CQ · 22/04/2014 22:41

I'm not far from Oxford if you mean the Blenheim near Woodstock? Thought I'd better check since geography seems to be a weak point on the thread Grin. Though to be fair, Sirzy, I did immediately think of St Ives in Cornwall too!

Anyway Mama, a 10k at Blenheim sounds lovely - it's beautiful there. In fact, the screensaver on my phone is of Dh & the kids by the lake at Blenheim. Random.

Chopstheduck · 23/04/2014 06:34

Blenheim looks gorgeous! Shame, it's about an hour from me.

I'm considering Henley for October, like the idea of a run along the river.

DeterminedMama · 23/04/2014 06:57

Yeh the address is Woodstock. It's on 5th October. Eek! Haven't managed that far yet! I need a challenge though or I know I will just give up.

DeterminedMama · 23/04/2014 07:05

Looking at the map, Blenheim is further than I thought (have moved since I last went there!). The Henley one is nearer, how many people do it, do you know? I want to do a popular one! I once did a charity bike ride and it was a lot smaller than other ones I did and I hated how small it was! Think I need one with more people. Definitely around October time because I won't be ready before then!

supportworker · 23/04/2014 07:07

Hello all, I have signed up to run/walk/stumble a half marathon in October for a good friend who needs a new wheelchair!

Help!

Chopstheduck · 23/04/2014 07:17

1281 finishers according to the 2013 results for Henley. No idea if that is a lot or not though!

Sirzy · 23/04/2014 07:21

Good luck support worker.
