I must admit the side lunges are my least favourite bit!

NoPainNoGainNoFunNoPoint · 03/03/2014 21:38

Thanks Errol, that makes sense. Not sure I can go down any more, I was only using 300g tins weights today. Blush

Mamma, Ri30 is Ripped in 30, another of JMs workout videos.

Keep going Tess, I'm only on day 4 but it does get easier. It is still hard work but it gets easier. Grin

oohdaddypig · 03/03/2014 21:54

Thanks for the kind messages :) feeling better - maybe because I feel like I can kick a burglar's backside with my new found muscles.

L2D3 tonight. Pushed it to Natalie style and gawd did I feel it. It's amazing the difference between how I feel when taking it easier. I am destroyed!

I also am no longer peeing myself during double jump rope. Is JM a cure for a post baby prolapse?!?!

(Totally agree about needing smaller weights for some moves.)

spinningirl10 · 04/03/2014 07:55

Ri30 D13 L3 done!!

Ooh that was tough!! Lots of new moves there that I've never done before! It's a faster pace as well I think!

Crazyhours · 04/03/2014 08:11

L1D3 done! Didn't shred yesterday as went a Metafit class instead.

Ordered the DVD from Amazon in anticipation of moving up to L2 - is it a big jump from L1?

6W6P L1D6 done but got interrupted by neighbour for 15 mins halfway through and then had to pick it back up again which was frustrating.

Still enjoying it but not drenched in sweat at the end like I was with the Shred. I think it's because there's not so much cardio in it and where there is cardio it's things like plank jacks which I just can't do so I hold plank instead which is difficult but doesn't work up a sweat.

I had a rest day on Sunday and I always think that sets be back a bit. I'm sure it's a good thing to do physically but mentally it feels suchan effort to get back into it whereas if I know I'm going to do it every day I just get on with it.

No sign of my 6 pack yet but maybe it's there underneath a layer of fat!

Still not losing any weight even though I'm being very careful about what I eat. I was 9st 11lb on 30th Dec and have been 9st 6lb since 31st January. 10 years ago I weighed 8st 4lb and I was hoping to get down to about 8st 10lb. I'm 42 now and am thinking that maybe I'm not supposed to be that weight any more, perhaps 9st 6lb is the new ideal weight for my body at this age. I'm 5ft 5" by the way.

I sound really obsessive! I don't think I am really, I'm just thinking 'aloud'.

StuntNun · 04/03/2014 10:40

Crazy I find L2 harder but more rewarding. I wasn't working up enough of a sweat with L1. My problem is that some of the L2 exercises are tricky to get right. I'm not sure I'm doing them correctly as I can't see myself. Also the plank jacks make my rug skid all over the floor. Blush

2tiredtocare · 04/03/2014 10:47

6w6p L1 D6 done

ErrolTheDragon · 04/03/2014 12:17

Ri30 L1D6 done.

Lindt, that height and weight makes your BMI 22 which is smack in the middle of the healthy range. So you probably don't really need to think in terms of losing weight - if you don't like your shape then exercise is exactly what you need. If you really want to lose some weight, you might find something like 5:2 better (and more sustainable) than forever 'being careful'.

Someone linked to this on another thread, there's one or two things I don't entirely agree with but it's got some very valid points on exercise.

Tib - that sounds to me like a good plan for the gym, especially if for the cardio you make some sort of HIIT routine rather than a steady-state boring flog. eg cycle as hard as you can for 30 seconds, recover for 10 secs (or more if necessary), repeat.

GandTnow · 04/03/2014 12:20

Level 1 day 4 done, not so much aching today and not so long to recover as day 1!! This has made me realise how unfit I am/was. Really enjoying it (even if I am a wreck at the end!)

I was watching supersize vs superskinny the other day and the supe

Lindt70Percent · 04/03/2014 12:36

Hi Errol. Thanks for the link, that was really interesting. I know I'm being silly because I can see the changes in my body. I'm fitting comfortably into clothes that were really tight before. I feel healthier and look much better. Really tempted to chuck away the scales. I never, ever used to weigh myself so shouldn't bother now.

Crazy, I found L2 harder and it took me a few days to get into it and then I really enjoyed it. You feel a horrible, sweaty mess straight after and then fantastic once you've had a shower.

GandTnow, it's fantastic once the aching stops isn't it. I found it really hard to sit down for the first 4 or 5 days of shredding and then it suddenly stopped and I could enjoy it.

2tiredtocare · 04/03/2014 12:37

Sorry! The superskinny was a runner who ste under 1,000 calories a day, madness! Surely an athlete needs to fuel their body properly to gain the best results. You sound like you are doing great Lindt I cant weigh myself as scales broken but I can see the difference Smile

TessTackle · 04/03/2014 12:51

I went for a "run" today after the nursery drop off. Did 5.4 miles of intervals jogging and speed walking. Can't decide whether to shred tonight or try to alternate with running?

You're all doing so well, massive well done to you all!

GeorginaWorsley · 04/03/2014 16:16

I did a class today,25 mins of cardio, jumps, dance moves etc, followed by 25 weights and abs.
Felt wonderful afterwards!
That will prob be my 'shred' for today although I may do some weights and abs later.
Feel like I can justify a couple of pancakes!

ErrolTheDragon · 04/03/2014 16:40

Well done all those alternatives-to-shred! Tess, I'm really looking forward to being able to do that sort of thing when/if the towpath stops being a mudbath (running on tarmac buggers my hip) - but I've not even got to 5km let alone 5 miles - well done! We did go for a walk this afternoon, lovely spring feel in the air. Smile

spinningirl10 · 04/03/2014 18:39

Its great to see so many people shredding and thinking of alternatives as well!!

I did some HIIT training at the gym this afternoon and then came home to find my new full length running tights and thermal tops had been delivered so I can get back outdoors on my bike now!! Might even do some running but have to go easy after a foot injury.

Lindt....I have to admit I weigh everyday(I know that's bad!!) but I am trying to be guided more by the fit of my clothes. Just about everything fits really nicely now. I'm 5' 8" and weigh 10st 8lb. In my head I'd like to be 10st but I don't know how sustainable this is. Anyway I will keep on shredding and healthy eating and see where it takes me....my main aim now is to have lovely toned legs and bum!! Oh and I'm the same age as you!

TessTackle · 04/03/2014 18:42

Errol it was very on and off, don't be too impressed!! I can't wait to be able to run non stop.

I'm so bloody sore after running and 100 squats that I'm definitely taking a rest day, back to shred tomorrow though!

MammaGnomes · 04/03/2014 20:53

L1D2 completed this morning. I'm aching like crazy but it feels good to be doing something for myself for a change. DD is finding it highly amusing watching me from her jumparoo

ErrolTheDragon · 04/03/2014 20:58

Those aches for the first few days tell you that you're building your muscles! Smile

GandTnow · 05/03/2014 07:19

Day 5 level 1 done! Still finding it tricky but recovery is getting better and better. Have quite sore ankles today, not use to all the jumping about! I love this thread by the way!

ErrolTheDragon · 05/03/2014 08:17

G&T - thanks for starting the thread! - they really do help.
Ankles... what surface are you doing the cardio on and are you wearing decent trainers?
