I need to have someone to do this with, I tried it once and got to day 3 but then gave up. Please join me if you want to attempt this with me.

6wk6p L1 D7 done, how do you find the double crunches Lindt?

Wenchelda · 05/03/2014 11:21

Can I join in please? I've just done level 1 day 3 of the shred but only just found this thread! I'm aching soooo much. I'm hoping for good results though - I've heard so many people say it's worked miracles for them. I did try it about 18months ago and got to day 21 (over about 32 days as I wasn't doing it every day) and got really disheartened with it as I never lost any weight or inches at all Hmm Feeling a bit down now too as I weighed myself this morning and was actually 2.5lb heavier than when I started the shred. Probably shouldn't have weighed yet really but was feeling hopeful and now I feel worse. All this pain better be worth it!
(Oops that turned into a long ramble, sorry)

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 05/03/2014 13:40

Should be doing L1D7 but think I'm going to have to have a rest day today, my right knee is killing me. It hurts just walking on it.

Bum Angry

2tiredtocare · 05/03/2014 14:50

I got sore knees during L1 but was doing it barefoot causing a lot of strain on he knees, I'm now a proud owner of some Nike Air and haven't had a problem since

GeorginaWorsley · 05/03/2014 15:31

Think I may be ready to do L 2.
I love level 1.
No aching joints etc now either!

Lindt70Percent · 05/03/2014 15:54

6W6P L1D7 done. 2tiredtocare I can't even remember any double crunches! Confused I always seem to miss the name of the movements. Trying to think what a double crunch could be. Is it when you lie on your back with your knees up and move your arms out and in? If so, I quite like that bit.

I think I'm 'phoning in' quite a bit of it. Blush I can't do those side plank things when you 'stack your legs and then move the bottom one in front of the top one'.

I'm getting a bit bored of it now and I don't want to. I want to feel enthusiastic and ready for more!

ErrolTheDragon · 05/03/2014 15:57

MrJolly and anyone else who gets knee pain - if you can figure out which exercise strains your knees, try to find alternatives. If you can look back over the Feb and Jan threads there are various ideas (esp the OP on the Feb thread for knee-strengthening exercises).

Wench - people don't always lose weight unless they're also modifying their eating in some way because you should be building muscle. But that doesn't mean you're not losing fat, which is the important thing. Fat is bad, muscle is good. Smile Also apparently when you start doing exercises your muscles can retain water for a few days - so a temporary gain can actually be a sign of good changes happening!

ErrolTheDragon · 05/03/2014 15:59

Forgot to say... unscheduled day off because my back is aching, don't know why, it never has before shredding or ripping....but had a lovely walk this morning on the shore between Lytham and St Annes.

NoPainNoGainNoFunNoPoint · 05/03/2014 17:07

No shred today but my DVD came so I can watch it properly instead of on YouTube.

I didn't shred because I had to push a fully loaded buggy complete with sleeping 2st toddler uphill to get home. I felt like I'd shredded after that!

I'm still getting painful knees the next day, I'll have to go back to the tips on the Feb Shred thread. Thanks Errol.

TessTackle · 05/03/2014 17:59

Evening everyone, checking in for day two of round two today. Aching like a mofo from my run yesterday but walked a further 5 miles today and have stayed under my calories so far with all three meals so feeling positive, I'll check back in once I've shredded.

Aching joints are really helped by cod liver oil capsules, I have early onset arthritis (I'm 23) and they help loads. almost as much as losing two stone

2tiredtocare · 05/03/2014 19:13

Wow two stone, that's great Tess. Managed to sneak in 30 DS L2 D9, I refuse to leave it unfinished and am trying to do 6w6p in am and 30ds in pm when I have the time. You sound like me Lindt I get bored that's why I alternate, on the thread for Jillian devotees some posters do a different dvd every day

TessTackle · 05/03/2014 19:43

Don't congratulate me too quick 2tired I put a lot of it back on Grin working at it now though!

NoPainNoGainNoFunNoPoint · 05/03/2014 19:58

Trees, I feel your pain, but well done for sticking with it. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis when I was in my twenties. I take cod liver oil and glucosamine with a glass of milk in the morning to up my calcium as well. I also do some Pilate's stretches before my workout and I double up on her warm up to help my flexibility and stamina.

I'm sure I read somewhere that drinking milk after exercise helps build muscle mass, rehydrates better than sports drinks and helps heal the muscle quicker, thereby resulting in less soreness after training. Might be worth looking into?

tanukiton · 05/03/2014 20:09

Just to say hi not shredded :( have a stinker of a cold) I have created a new border in the garden which took a whole day to do so definately used some muscles.... Going to try and shred tomorrow

spinningirl10 · 05/03/2014 20:23

Errol....hope your back is better soon, take it easy for a couple of days!

Tanukiton...hope you get over your cold quickly.

oohdaddypig · 05/03/2014 21:13

Evening all you amazing ladies - what with gardening with colds and losing stones and doing 6w6p, I'm humbled....

30ds level 2 - lost count now but the arm stuff isn't getting easier!

My knees are niggling too - the lunges are punishing. It helps if you lunge forward in a heel-toe manner rather than crashing down toe first. Also, don't lunge too deep.

spinningirl10 · 06/03/2014 07:24

Morning shredders Grin

Ri30 D15 L3 done!

Ooh I'm half way through!

Crazyhours · 06/03/2014 08:58

Didn't shred yesterday, no excuse, was tired (but that's nothing new) and a bit fedup. Ho hum.

Made up for it this morning though - L1D4 done at the crack of dawn. I feel like I'm ready for level 2 now!

GandTnow · 06/03/2014 08:59

Morning all, loving this thread and all you ace people that know what you're doing. The advice is brilliant. Day 6 level 1 done this morning. Certainly easier that day 1 but still feels like a work out and a half!

Nightwish · 06/03/2014 09:48

A bit late to join in but I am here!
I was on the last three shred threads.
Am now alternating Killer Buns and Thighs and Ripped in 30.
Unfortunately I have just had 5 days off due to visiting family, having uni assignments due and being at uni but back on it today.

KB&T L1 D6 done. Not overly well, typically after having so many days off on the day I can do it I get a cold and feel grotty.

Hello to everyone new, there seems to be a lot you.
And to everyone old who are still at it!
Will try to catch up on the rest of the thread later!

MammaGnomes · 06/03/2014 12:10

its good to see people that have been doing it for a while. makes me determined to stick at it Smile

completed L1D4 this morning. Felt better today and more manageable but I sweated more so I think I subconsciously upped my game. aches are starting to fade too. stupidly weighed myself this morning and ive only lost 1lb. I'm doung really well food wise too. normal weigh day is sunday though so will see what they say then

ErrolTheDragon · 06/03/2014 12:39

I'm really missing it... especially annoying is that sitting (which I have to do while working) seems to hurt a bit anyway. Probably need to sit up straighter. Bah.

Lindt70Percent · 06/03/2014 13:07

Hope your back's better soon Errol!

I'm just about to go and do another session of 6W6P but thought I'd come here for inspiration first. This thread really does keep me going.

Going to have to hoover the room first as you really notice all the bits and hairs on the carpet when you're lying face down on it trying to be superman.

Back later!

oohdaddypig · 06/03/2014 13:45

What happened errol? Did you put your back out?

My house is even more filthy from a reclining sit up position but it still doesn't motivate me to actually clean it. :)
Busy day with kids so no JM till tonight.

Lindt70Percent · 06/03/2014 14:17

6W6P L1D8 done.
