I'm on L1D3 tomorrow. I'm literally screaming every time I bend down, my thighs hurt so bad. Last exercise was 14 months ago, pre-baby. Why has no-one discussed the jumping jacks? Am I the only one who has trouble with pelvic floors???? Blush Confused Serves me right for having 3 DC...

deeplybaffled · 04/09/2013 23:14

It does get better after about day 4, honestly, and stairs gradually stop seeming like the work of the devil. But I know what you mean, and if I knew who jack was, I'd happily jump on him, in very high heels at that!

I guess if you're susceptible, it'd be a good idea to do pelvic floor exercises too... maybe afterwards while you're cooling down? Its one of those things we all should do and forget so making it part of the exercise habit could help.

leezl · 05/09/2013 00:51

Jumping jacks were the WORST for me. I even preferred press ups! Confused

Sweetsandchocolate · 05/09/2013 06:18

That's a good idea, I'll do pelvic floors with the cool down. I'm off to do it now.

Baffled, jumping jacks are in the cardio bit on L1 where you jump up and down waving your arms and legs. Prefer your line of thinking though Grin

HaplessHousewife · 05/09/2013 09:11

I don't mind the jumping jacks ? although the speed threw me at first, it's the skipping that I find hard for some reason.

My calves have joined the aching party today so stairs are still an issue but I'm hoping that by the weekend my body will stop complaining!

glorious · 05/09/2013 10:05

Well done wanda, great that you're going for it Smile

Rest day yesterday as I twisted my ankle but think it's ok so doing my normal class today plus shred. Eek.

GrimmaTheNome · 05/09/2013 10:17

reboot L2D1. I think I prefer most of L2 to L1 - I quite like the plank jacks! Odd I can do planky things when I'm rubbish at press-ups. I also realised that the way to do the leg raise and military press thing without falling over was to stand with one leg (the one not being raised, obv) up against the sofa for a bit of stability. (still had to rest my arms a few times on that one though)

GrimmaTheNome · 05/09/2013 10:20

Hapless, I think the skipping is particularly hard combined with jumping jacks - see my post at Tue 03-Sep-13 21:26:49 , mixing the moves differently may work better for you too. Smile

leezl · 05/09/2013 10:59

L1D2 done! I found it much easier than yesterday, although maybe because it isn't 6:45am...
I struggle to get up off the floor in time!

leezl · 05/09/2013 11:01

Grimma I'm definitely gonna try your adaptation tomorrow - the JJ and skipping together is way too hard for me right now >.

HaplessHousewife · 05/09/2013 12:39

Grimma, I may have to give that a try tonight as my legs are protesting today.

HaplessHousewife · 05/09/2013 19:50

So day 3 done. It's definitely getting easier but I need proper weights because I don't think the tins of soup are cutting it, I find a lot of the weight exercises easy which can't be right!

I did it in my bra and pants as it's so hot but boy does my tummy wobble ? clothes on next time, not a pleasant experience Smile.

leezl · 05/09/2013 20:34

Hapless I tried it in loose pyjama bottoms buys oh boy, I needed some tight-waisted jogging bottoms today to hold my wobble in! It's just too painful otherwise!

GrimmaTheNome · 05/09/2013 20:38

Does anyone make a lower-body equivalent of a sports bra? Wink

HaplessHousewife · 05/09/2013 21:18

See I wear tight Nike leggings for Zumba (and a long top to cover everything up) and they are nice and tight ? thank goodness I do otherwise I'd scare the rest of the class off.

I also have to hang something over the mirror in the living room, I know I go as red as a beetroot whenever I exercise, the last thing I need is to see it!

deeplybaffled · 05/09/2013 21:25

Just done L1 D9, after playing competitive badminton for the first time in a couple of months yesterday - at least it has varied the muscle pains !

OP posts:
glorious · 05/09/2013 22:04

hapless I did the same (curtains firmly closed!).

baffled that's brave!

L1D5 complete. I probably need real weights too though don't particularly want to work on my arms or lose weight, just tone up stomach and legs. So not too fussed but it's probably cheating and I'd hate to be cheating Grin

leezl · 05/09/2013 22:54

Experienced shreddies, how many days does it take before the deep ache goes away? Does it even? I feel like such an old woman at the moment! I'm doing extra stretches before and after.

wallpaperaddict · 05/09/2013 23:07

leezl I found by day 4 things were much better! Far less achey and found the exercises were getting easier. I found doing exercise actually helped with the aches, kinda gets everything warm and moving again!

NoelHeadbands · 05/09/2013 23:25

leezl I stopped aching at around day 4/ day 5.

But then I'd start the next level at day 10 etc, and ache all over again for another 5 days Hmm

I tried to take it as a positive though- those muscles are only aching cos you're using 'em girlfriend etc etc

leezl · 05/09/2013 23:38

Thanks guys!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 06/09/2013 05:17

Mind if I join?
Should be L1D5 but velcro ds means I've misses the last two days, should I just start again?

Hapless, i draw the curtains...would hate someone, other than Dh, to see me shredding!

NoelHeadbands · 06/09/2013 07:57

Two days missed isn't a lot, I'd just carry on with L1D6 I think

I don't even like DH seeing me shred! Although its amazing how much extra effort I can find if I do think someone's watching Grin

deeplybaffled · 06/09/2013 08:33

I gave in and bought some proper weights after a few days and it was actually easier as I was less worried about dropping them than the water canteens I'd used before. Sports direct had some good deals on various sizes.
