I wear a too small for me now bra under my sports bra - couldn't contemplate trying to do high knees without them

DearlyDepartedMrsFinch · 02/09/2013 20:36

In awe of wallpaper

deeplybaffled · 02/09/2013 20:49

Level 1 day 7 done, and I look like a 2 legged beetroot. A shower is beyond necessary!

IcedCoffeeQueen · 02/09/2013 21:41

Completed shred day 26 today, and managed some davina target cardio annnd threw in davina target abs, was a great workout!

starving now though!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 02/09/2013 21:45

Day 2 done...pant pant. Sweat is literally running down my spine now, boak! Bloody chair v raises...and plank bunny hops.

deeplybaffled · 02/09/2013 21:49

Second the advice about extra quad stretches! I've been doing another round under the hot water in the shower and it seems to be helping a bit...either that or my body is just in shock!

Sorry people, didn't RTFT! I ate first, but waited an hour and a half before Shredding. Getting up early would mean getting up and being standing in workout kit ready to begin at 5.30 on the dot, so really 5.15 by the time I'd found scattered belongings and peed to ensure no pelvic floor mishaps. I have a few days off this month, though, so will exercise early on those days.

GreatSoprendo · 02/09/2013 23:45

New shredder here .

DVD arrived today and managed to contain DS in his jumping thingy long enough for me to do L1D1 this afternoon. Felt like a good workout although am taking it a little gently on the jumping jacks as pelvic floor is a little fragile, as are boobs as am BFing a 5 month old.

So I'm assuming the intention is to do L1 for 10 consecutive days then move to L2? Also assuming I will struggle to get out of bed in the morning Grin.

Bumpotato · 03/09/2013 09:08

I did L2D6 this morning. I like L2 better than L1, though I'm still more Anita than Natalie!

mothersmilkandherchickenseggs · 03/09/2013 09:44

can i join please? i have put on half a stone in the holidays and do not look good, i love love love Jillian and have shred, 6w6p, bfbm, and nmtz so will be combining all of them and some running (when the front room is not available). I dont think i will be starting till dc,s go back to school and im back at college and work that way i can begin with a good routine. Will also be altering diet cut out all crap, snaking and alcohol (and will be trying to drag dh into it as well). I will have a read through all the posts so far and try to keep up with everyone's progress good luck all!!!

Boopear · 03/09/2013 09:56

Can I join too please? I have about 10lb to loose, arms to firm and abs to find. Am on L1/D8 of Ripped in 30 - got up early this morning to do it, which worked pretty well. Need lots of psyching to stay with Level 2 in the next few days though, as I know it is going to be a killer - on past experience, I tend to give up about this point, so am posting on here to motivate myself! One quick question to anyone else doing Ripped in 30 - how many days for each level, as there are 4 levels?

glorious · 03/09/2013 10:12

Hi all, I'm on day 4 of level 1. I really want to look more toned as I've lost the baby weight (DD is 7 mo) but still look flabbier than I did. So shredding and running with my super duper new running pushchair Grin It's not as bad as I feared yet but I can certainly feel it. And I hate pressups.

niceupthedance · 03/09/2013 12:10

Day 2 complete - did NMTZ again as neighbour has complained about noise and I don't want to aggravate him with jumping about. NMTZ only has 5 mins cardio in the warm up.

Well done everyone - keep it up!

GrimmaTheNome · 03/09/2013 12:56

Reboot L1D9 done.

Been away for a long weekend - the team I work with are mostly in the US so I usually swap UK bank holidays, in this case conveniently Labor Day. Lots of walking at least - while DD followed up her usual Saturday sailing and windsurfing with surfing lessons on Sunday. She's just a bit knackered today!Grin Resting up before school starts tomorrow.

DH has rejoined the gym, he's realised from my example that it is possible to fight post-50 decline! He can take DD to her bus-stop and then go there after, its quite convenient, while I shred at home.

Someone upthread said they couldn't do press-ups - I totally couldn't either the first time I did shred. Now I can just about get through the 2 sets anita style. Google for alternatives eg wall press-ups.

leezl · 03/09/2013 14:39

It's here! It's here!

Ellellie · 03/09/2013 16:43

How do you ladies deal with missing a day for whatever reason? Restart from the beginning? Chalk it up to life? Restart from the beginning of the level?

Choos123 · 03/09/2013 16:54

I managed a few pathetic push ups today, L1D2...how many more days? Lifting my arms above my head hurts...

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 03/09/2013 17:25

Rest days are good.
It was originally designed by be 5 days a week and take 6 weeks but 30ds researched better. JM recommends rest days every 5 in books. Just carry on.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 03/09/2013 20:11

I just carry on too, Elle. Mind you, my difficulty is forcing myself to restart after a rest! This time will be different .

Psyching myself up to start in an hour, once my dinner has gone down.

HaplessHousewife · 03/09/2013 20:19

I've done it. L1D1 ? I thought I wasn't going to make it after the first circuit but I did (doing the easier versions).

My poor legs Sad.

I think I've been reluctant to start because it means I've got to keep doing it ? no going back now!

GrimmaTheNome · 03/09/2013 20:35

How do you ladies deal with missing a day for whatever reason?
I always miss Saturday and usually sunday - this weekend Monday too - no problem, just carry on from where I was. I think if I went much more than that I'd go back to the start of the level.

deeplybaffled · 03/09/2013 20:38

Just done L1D8.
can any experienced shredders tell me whether I'll always feel like my lungs are going to explode during the first cardio section? For me, it's by far the worst of the three!

OP posts:
TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 03/09/2013 20:41

Yay, Hapless, well done you!

Baffled, I think the cardio in Level 1 is harder than the cardio in Level 2. It's so relentless. Abs in Level 2 are definitely harder, though!

HaplessHousewife · 03/09/2013 21:02

I agree deeply, if it had carried on like that I would never have made it through to the end!

The longer I sit here, the more I hurt.
