Just managed Day 1 Level 2 Ripped in 30 . Anyone else doing this one? The first cardio set is 1min plankjacks/1min mountain climbers! It's a killer!!! Luckily it gets a bit easier from there..although God know what I am going to feel like tomorrow. I keep repeating your mantra Noel - if it's hurting, it's working!

L2D2 - and then I went for a couple of miles (slow) run. In the rain! Because of which I went on the road, which isn't flat rather than along the canal which is (but gets muddy). The slope which in the past has been a killer wasn't really a problem today. Smile

morning all L3D8 done, it was bloody hard going today, i was really thankful for JM's pep-talk as i was ready just to 'turn that dvd off' and crawl back to bed Sad

i was going to start the 6 week 6 pack next week, but have decided to stick with 30DS and start the c25k programme - i will not be fat anymore!

I've been wondering whether to try one of the other dvds but it sounds like they're all longer, and the 20 mins is great - easier to fit in if you're pushed, and otherwise time to do something else as well. Like that c25k people keep talking about. Someone clue me in... I think I've done a DIY version to get me up to 2 miles but want to get to be able to go a bit further and not so slowly!

BTW, I'm actually Grimma. There's been an outbreak of dragons...

RippingYarns · 06/09/2013 16:49

the 20 mins thing is what i like about the 30DS, Grimma/Errol

ok, it's 30 mins incl warm up/cool down, but that means i can shred, shower and dress in an hour so that will fit in nicely between school run and appts etc for DD

I'm with you Noel, I normally shred before DH gets home but he's had the day off today so he's banished to the front room to watch the football. Don't want an audience of any kind.

Mind you, my Zumba instructor said she wanted to video our class to put on the website ? oh how we cheered. I'm hoping she was joking but if not I suspect the class will be remarkably quiet that day.

Finished shred last week and now 7 days into 6 wk 6 pack; it does fly by and is only 10 min longer than shred.

It's more fun than shred level 2 as well.

And I'm now under my goal of ten stone!
:) :)

Ripping - thanks for the link. I'd found the NHS one but (maybe I missed something) it all seemed to be podcasts and I've lost my ipod and can't keep earphones in running anyway. ok, looks like I'm at about week 5 ...in terms of time though I don't think I get quite that far in 20 mins. I've only got short legs. (IRL as well as in my MN incarnations Grin)

iced I really am enjoying 6w6p, yes - though think I wouldn't be able to do it if I hadn't done shred for 6 weeks first. The difference shredding made with a different way of eating has been staggering - if the 6w6p is half as dramatic I will be thrilled. I am so much stronger, can twirl 30lb dd above my head with ease!

I've posted this on the other thread so apologies to those who read it twice!
I'm just about to do my last day of the shred! I have just weighed myself and taken all my measurements. I have to say I am really disappointed. I weigh exactly the same as when I started so I'm still fat. My waist is the same but I've lost two inches off my pooch bit, and an inch off my hips.
I'm pleased I've stuck with it, and whilst I'm now not a slim goddess, I am at least much more toned, my stomach is hard and the wobbly bits have gone. I still need to loose at least half a stone though. I hope ripped in 30 alongside c25k will have the desired effect! I've eaten really well this month, lowered carb portions, only eaten bread twice, upped my fruit and veg in take, drunk more water, clearly I need to do something a bit more radical! However, on the 1st aug I barely limped through level 1, now I can do full on sit ups, jumping lunges gracefully, travelling press ups, mountain climbers, the list goes on! Now that is an achievement!!!

I've just found out about shredding a few days ago and ordered Jillian Michael's 30 days DVD for level one plus 2 x 2.5 lbs dumbbells. is that what I need?

while I'm waiting for the delivery should I prepare somehow?

any tips or advice?

Report
wallpaperaddict · 07/09/2013 10:58

Hi zing Yep the DVD and dumbells are all you need! I'm not sure there's anyway to prepare! My only advice is try to do level 1 consecutively, it helps reduce the aches. Also day 3 you may really hurt and day 4 onwards things get much easier! Good Luck!!!

zing, fancy seeing you here! I'm using 1.5kg weights atm as I still flabby/weak from baby.
If you can fit some squats or abs workout into your day, try to practise having good form on all of it (I do one leg squats whilst brushing my teeth for example).

L1D7 today, no ache from yesterdays work out, so might try L2 tomorrow (last time I did shred, i found l2 much easier tha 1!)

Congrats on the progress wallpaper!
Do your scales give a rough estimate of muscle mass vs fat? Hopefully the weight staying the same is down to muscle gain.

glitter, did you do it last night?
TK Maxx or the hell that is sports direct are good for cheap mats, failing that Argos!

Hoot-hoot Zing!

Good to see you here :)

Agree with wallpaper about sticking on L1 for as long as you need to. I think I did 2 weeks before I was ready to move on, definitely was a benefit.

One day left on L3 and I'm shredded :-O

I think I need to go bra shopping soon, I've skipped at least one hook and like it said on the other thread, I need leggings on to keep my pants up (good job I don't wear shorts to run in)

And I managed 10 rock star jumps in a row on both rounds today - off for a long bath now

Can I ask when you all started to see any results? Just got 1 more day of level 1 to do, and wondering if measuring myself would be heartening or depressing!

I'd say leave it til the end of level 2. Although, I took photos at start, then as I started level 2 and I would say I looked more streamlined. Less lumps and bumps!
