(previous thread)

That's "king" as a suffix not a prefix. Also part of a phrase.

The referendum was not advisory as specified on the leaflet sent to each household in the UK.

An advertising leaflet even one produced by the Government is not law.

On 29 March 2017, 498 MPs made the law that the UK will leave the EU in accordance with Article 50.

Correct but why are you telling us this? Do you think we don't know? Do you think we can't read? Have you any useful observations to make?

GlobeTrotter2000 · 30/01/2024 11:55

@Peregrina Correct but why are you telling us this? Do you think we don't know? Do you think we can't read? Have you any useful observations to make?

Well, it appears that even after seven and a half years since the referendum was held was held, some still think Brexit is not valid and should be reversed with immediate effect.

Even more funny, are those who think if the Tories lose the next election Brexit will be reversed with immediate effect and the EU will pretend nothing ever happened.

DuncinToffee · 30/01/2024 12:03

Which thread or threads are you reading @GlobeTrotter2000 ?

Not this one it seems.

borntobequiet · 30/01/2024 12:13

No one on here is dim enough to think that.

HannibalHeyes · 30/01/2024 12:26

Global is arguing with herself again...

DuncinToffee · 30/01/2024 12:27

Northern Ireland latest: 'All conditions in place' to restore power-sharing

Ofcourse as Sam Coates points out

3 groups need to be happy with the letter of the new law

- DUP who haven’t seen it yet
- EU which hasn’t seen it yet
- Brexiteers who were being “handled” by government at the weekend to stop them objecting

It’s only done when it’s done

pointythings · 30/01/2024 13:05

I don't think anyone on this thread has said anything along the lines that you are suggesting, @GlobeTrotter2000 . Do we think Brexit is going well or was a good idea? Nope. Do we expect a quick fix? Absolutely not. Maybe go back and read the thread through again, eh?

prettybird · 30/01/2024 13:27

That's why I don't bother reading that person's posts anymore Wink

They add sweet FA to the discussion Confused

GlobeTrotter2000 · 30/01/2024 13:34

@pointythings Maybe go back and read the thread through again, eh?

No point. as the underlying statements made by remain supporters on these threads since 23 June 2016 are:

The referendum was not binding because we don't like the result.

Brexit is wrong because we say so.

How dare Leave supporters disagree with those who know better and have psychic powers that enables them to forecast the future with 100% certainty.

Jason118 · 30/01/2024 13:46

Another colander post from @GlobeTrotter2000 Blush

pointythings · 30/01/2024 14:19

@prettybird you make a good point. Globe probably also thinks Rwanda is a safe country because our government says so.

GlobeTrotter2000 · 30/01/2024 17:23

Take a look at

✅ Is Rwanda Safe to Visit in 2024? | Safety Concerns (travellersworldwide.com)

Rwanda is considered one of the safest places to visit in Africa. Despite a tragic history marked by the 1994 genocide, the country has made remarkable strides in terms of safety and security.

International travel advisories generally rate Rwanda as safe, with a low crime rate, though some concerns arise from sporadic incidents, primarily in border areas where conflicts from neighboring countries can sometimes spill over.

I have not visited. So, no first hand experience to compare.

Is Rwanda safe to visit or are the safety concerns overblown? We'll show you crime rates, why it's safer to visit than you think, and how to stay safe.

pointythings · 30/01/2024 17:32

And yet the UK is taking refugees from Rwanda.
You can't safely criticise the government in Rwanda.
Maybe you think that's a good thing, Globe?

DuncinToffee · 30/01/2024 17:46

Visit Rwanda is a bit different than Deport to Rwanda Confused

I treat Globe in the same way we treated the squirrels when I was here before ...

pointythings · 30/01/2024 22:01

@Talkinpeace ooooh, ginger twinsies! My ginger boy is a complete nutjob, I don't think he's ever going to be a calm character like the other four and mutual tolerance between him and the Ladyship is all I can hope for, but he's the peopliest lap cat ever and I wouldn't be without him.

prettybird · 30/01/2024 22:04

Elite cats Wink made into a cushion cover for a Christmas present for ds and his girlfriend as they've now moved into their own place and are missing the boys Grin

Lots of cut n paste… hmm 🤔 who does that remind me of?

DuncinToffee · 31/01/2024 09:11

I thouught the Rwanda holiday post was just very funny and rather revealing.

Nice to see the return of the cat pictures, as long as they stay out of my garden Grin

Just been at Wisley.
Parakeets have overtaken squirrels as the most irritating invaders.

Globe is now an honorary parakeet

I'm sorry - she's delusional
