Part 10 of our long running thread.

Not sure what to say, really, other than it is worse than I feared.

Strap in, folks. It's gonna be a rough ride...

More benefits

The cost of food imported from the EU shot up because of extra red tape, adding £210 to the average household food bills over 2020 and 2021

www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/dec/01/brexit-added-nearly-6bn-to-uk-food-bills-in-two-years-research-finds

HannibalHeyes · 01/12/2022 09:15

We just can't stop winning! Brexit added nearly £6bn to UK food bills in two years

CEP found the Brexit-induced price rise led to an overall cost of living increase for the poorest households of 1.1% – 52% more than the 0.7% rise felt in the top 10% of households in Britain.

According to John Bolton, itis the fault of Remainers for opposing it, it being brexit.

That's hardly a new accusation, it's been a popular refrain on the Westministenders threads for years.

According to me John Bolton is a cunt. Seems as relevant.

It’s time for a chat about post-Brexit trade deals.

Remember the goal of the incoming gov’t in December 2019? Does the aim “to cover 80% of total UK trade” with free trade deals by 2022 ring any bells?

Let's unpack how @tradegovuk is doing on that promise… ~AA 1/9

twitter.com/BestForBritain/status/1598674331743277056?t=6T7pxrL-V436PiFBL3Ta6Q&s=19

Turns out this govt’s post-Brexit deals are much like everything else Brexit: lacking in substance, doing economic damage to the country, overpromising and underdelivering.

And if that sounds like a description of our last three PMs too, well, that’s no coincidence. ~AA 9/9

I will admit to a chuckle this morning at a tory mp doing the news rounds saying that the result in Chester was better than expected. Yeah. Right.

Javid the next in a growing list of Tory mps who won't be standing in 2024 (reminds me of Labour in 2010...)

DuncinToffee · 02/12/2022 18:27

Wins for Cornwall

The last EU funding package for Cornwall was worth £515M over 6 years. The Tories have offered £350M OVER 30 YEARS! All they had to do for the EU money was publicise the EU logo, this time they must have an elected Mayor.

@DuncinToffee I live down here.. its also safe to say that in my part of SE Cornwall.. many voted because of immigration (older gen) but amongst my fairly wide circle, the majority voted leave to see what would happen.

I wish i was joking but i'm not.

oh and my former MP Scott Mann, voted out for fishing, to give Cornwall more money and for a housing reset..... how is all that going Scott?

(i've still got the emails where he argued all of this with me)

DuncinToffee · 02/12/2022 19:11

Well they knew what they voted for.....

Anybody seen this thread? It's quite entertaining.

Brexiteers really hate being asked about brexit benefits Grin

Bless them trying desperately to shut down conversation 🦄

Will the winning never stop?

CBI says UK recession could turn into a ‘lost decade’...

pointythings · 05/12/2022 13:10

Well, the CBI are wrong. The decade isn't lost. It's in the cargo hold of that red bus. You know, the one with the promise on it.

DuncinToffee · 05/12/2022 13:54

Come on now, it's not people's fault that they voted leave so just stop talking about Brexit Wink
