A new thread as the other one is getting full. I'm enjoying the post election discussion. Every view is listened to and welcomed.

Brexit is happening, but what kind of Brexit will it be?

New leaderships for both Labour and the LibDems.

Most importantly, will Britain be Great in 2024?

I really wish there was an ignore poster option on here!

The thing is, the ignorance is coming from those who refuse to accept that more people supported the Tories than Labour

You can slag off whoever you like but you’ve got 5 years of the Tories now because there was no viable alternative

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 15/12/2019 17:50

If the gloaty, goading posters were actually more like Louise, then that would be fine. But the constant digging is really not very friendly / nice, is it.

You can have an alternate opinion without being a prize twat about it.

placemats · 15/12/2019 17:52

Bear and Cend

Tell us what you really think. No need to be reactive now.

Cewndrillon you are droning on like a whiny six year old. When Johnson' has had five years and has delivered your brexit, and made Britain great again, or whatever, then come back and crow. You will have earned it.

Ed Vaizey wins as being the most condescending person ever.

I doff my cloth hat to you Ed.

I’m not being a prize twat or gloating.

People just need to accept Brexit is happening and the Tories are going to rule the roost until the opposition gets its act together.

I wish we weren’t leaving the E.U. but the fact is we are because no one offered a sensible alternative

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 15/12/2019 17:54

And I haven't seen anybody refusing to accept that the Tories won. That's a spectacular misreading of these threads!

Bearbehind · 15/12/2019 17:55

Tell us what you really think. No need to be reactive now.

I’m not sure what you mean? Really think about what?

missclimpson · 15/12/2019 17:55

My children did ITA Peregrina. All I remember is Miz Humfreez name on the door. One teaches English and one writes for a living so I think they got over it.

Bearbehind · 15/12/2019 17:55

I didn’t say people were refusing to accept the Tories won

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 15/12/2019 17:56

I wasn't calling you a prize twat, actually, bear. Again, a spectacular misreading.

You don't seem to have read the content of these threads properly. A) we know the Tories won and B) we know Brexit is happening.

We also know that BoZo is a liar and wants to fuck the country over.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 15/12/2019 17:57

The thing is, the ignorance is coming from those who refuse to accept that more people supported the Tories than Labour

That is saying that people don't accept that the Tories won.

Peregrina · 15/12/2019 17:58

I don't think it was Loiuse, but another poster who said that she voted Leave, but didn't find that she was overjoyed by this election result. Leavers like that you can respect.

Bearbehind · 15/12/2019 17:58

santa I’m not sure if you’re a name changer but I haven’t seen you around much however I can assure you I have read the content of the threads properly.

I’m just making the point that there’s fuck all point in whinging now.

We all just have to get on with it

Frankiestein402 · 15/12/2019 17:59

The withdrawal agreement will pass obviously - but anyone who believes brexit will be done by 12/20 is deluded.

CendrillonSings · 15/12/2019 18:00

I really wish there was an ignore poster option on here!

How exactly did ignoring posters who told you far in advance that Labour was heading for a massive defeat and why it was going to happen work out for you? Grin

I told you that you were totally out of touch with the electorate's opinion, but no, Project Ostrich was in full effect, and it looks as though it still is...

Piggywaspushed · 15/12/2019 18:00

Boris' magic money tree is in and orchard : you'll find it next to his magic nurses' tree and just in front of his magic teachers' tree.

Bearbehind · 15/12/2019 18:02

The withdrawal agreement will pass obviously - but anyone who believes brexit will be done by 12/20 is deluded.

I think that we’ll just sign up to BINO now because Boris does actually know how damaging hard Brexit will be and has the numbers to get his choices through.

He can spin it to his DM following and they’ll lap it up.

I honestly believe not much is going to change

placemats · 15/12/2019 18:02

I’m just making the point that there’s fuck all point in whinging gloating now.

Fixed that for you Bear.

Now, again, bring something positive to this thread.

Do you see Britain being Great in 2024?

JustAnotherPoster00 · 15/12/2019 18:02

The people who seem to be whining the most about Corbyn are suprisingly the winners of the election Hmm

Still waiting to hear what the likely benefits of having a Conservative government for the next 5 years are, maybe you can answer Bear after all you didnt want to leave yet voted for every possible government that would give you that so you must have some reasons why this is going to be beneficial to the populace at large Hmm

Thanks Placemats

Just chipping in with tuppence worth from other thread:

Placemats* You are, sadly, dreaming if you think doorstep conversations have shone the light of reality in Momentum activists.

No.

AlsoHuman The 'because Brexit' narrative you're hearing is from the Milne/Murphy camp.

The full song is: 'Corbynism failed at the polls because Blairite Remainers undermines the project with their cunning Second Referendum plan.
We must purge them.'

Just Cendrillon is right about the Momentum membership.
I'm sorry but the electorate have just delivered the biggest 'No' in 80 years.
So long as Labour keeps on that path, Labour is, effectively, dead.

Of course, to young Momentum members, that probably isn't a problem. They can tell themselves that demographics are on their side and, if they hold on 20 years, they have the world to win.

Unfortunately, there are those of us who kind of need a functioning Opposition right now.

Placemats There is something genuinely obscene about the Leaser who led to such a comprehensive dismemberment if the progressive Parties (frankly, he did for the Lib Dems, too), the strategist in charge of a terrible, terrible campaign, and the lead comms and strategy guy keeping their extremely well-paid jobs when

  • Labour staff are now redundant
  • a load of MPs and their staff are redundant
  • they fought a campaign based on how necessary a Labour win was for those on benefits and in low-paid employment.

I would add Diane Abbott to that list, too.

She shouted at MPs telling her the GE was a mistake.
She is still in situ, having used her influence to secure a well-paid job for her child.

Honestly.
It looks - no, it is - so bad.

It makes Labour a joke. It makes us look as though it's a Party filled with a privileged few for whom politics is just a game. A Party with an elite that use the very real problems people face as a way of manoeuvring to acquire position, prestige and income for themselves.

That is not a look Labour needs right now.

Bearbehind · 15/12/2019 18:03

And just

placemats · 15/12/2019 18:04

I don't think it will be BINO.

I'm sure it will be a form of custom union/Norway style deal.

Taps nose.

Cendrillon
Other than Brexit, which pages of the Tory manifesto are you looking forward to being enacted ?
