Tonight 10pm

YouGov MRP.

First big poll

Rumour is that it shows a big tory majority.

This would fit with two MRP polls that are already out if accurate.

Datapraxis is suggesting a Tory majority of 48.

Best for Britain (Pro remain) is suggesting a majority of 57.

What is MRP and can it predict the result of the UK general election?

It stands for multi-level regression and post-stratification. Its a polling method which uses demographic data to work out how people will vote. YouGov used it to accurately predict the 2017 result and the method was used to predict the 2016 US election.

Watch:

Boris Johnson’s father has just insulted the British working class to a level not witnessed on television for decades. This family don’t just hold the working class in contempt, they despise us.

‘They couldn’t spell Pinocchio if they tried’

@StanleyPJohnson
replying to a viewer’s comment that called his son Pinocchio.

Violetparis · 29/11/2019 11:21

Corbyn, Labour MPs and their supporters in their media appearances need to hammer home the quotes from Boris on single mothers and the working class.

Violetparis · 29/11/2019 11:22

Just hopefully the more Stanley is wheeled out the more damage he will do.

Alsohuman · 29/11/2019 11:23

What next? Javid’s granny?

prettybird · 29/11/2019 11:25

The riposte to Stanley is that we think it is even more amazing and shocking that we have a Prime Minister that is a proven liar - not just from before he was PM (being sacked for lying) but also while he's been PM. SadShockAngry

"There's no press here" while gesticulating to the invited press cameras is one of the more innocuous examples.

Pinokeeo.

I still recognise one when I see or hear one.

What the fans of the new Conservative party never address is why union funding is bad but unlimited funds from Putin's friends is ok!

Ah, I remember the days when I was active in the local Peace Group, back in the 1980s. We were constantly accused of receiving Russian money, despite the fact that our Treasurer said he could never identify any. But now it's going to the right sort, i.e. Old Etonions then it's absolutely Fiiiine

Verylucky2 · 29/11/2019 12:02

Is anyone watching the news on BBC1?

Conservative campaign, with someone from Labour leave standing alongside Boris telling Labour voters to vote for him if they want Brexit.

Verylucky2 · 29/11/2019 12:04

Sorry, it was on BBC2, not 1, but had finished on 2, it's still on BBC News though.

Verylucky2 · 29/11/2019 12:05

It's been on since about 11.20am ish though and has just finished. Might be on catch up for those interested?

Violetparis · 29/11/2019 12:09

I watched it Verylucky2, Boris was a gurning mess.

Just in...

BBC sources say they have refused the Conservatives' offer to put the prime minister on Andrew Marr this Sunday until he agrees a date for the Andrew Neil interview.

BBC are feeling the shift in public opinion maybe?

The billionaire owner of the Daily Mail, the Viscount Rothermere, has bought
@theipaper
.

Two billionaire press barons now own half of the top 10 daily newspapers.

Remember this when they attack Labour's plan to make the super-rich pay their fair share.

Violetparis · 29/11/2019 12:50

After today's appearances Boris might be very relieved not to go on Marr, I think the BBC should let him, we need to see him under scrutiny.

TatianaLarina · 29/11/2019 12:56

One of the key factors in Brexit: The Enquiry 10 years hence will be that never again can so few rich men own so much of the media.

TatianaLarina · 29/11/2019 12:57

More like 20 years to be fair.

‘They couldn’t spell Pinocchio if they tried’

Looks as though the guy who sent in the email didn't get the spelling correct after all - he tweeted;

"Sorry I didn't spell Pinocchio correctly and I am frustrated and I'm sorry and annoyed with myself because I checked it. So sorry once again. But the spelling wasn't too wrong because Joanna still read it out. But in my defense [sic] Boris Pinocchio Johnson wouldn't spell Pinocchio."

Alsohuman · 29/11/2019 13:16

No wonder he dodged Neil, that LBC interview was awful. Especially the throat cutting gesture.
