Apparently the usual landlady over ordered on Bar nuts on the last thread. Just step over them if you find them here, as we haven’t had a chance to clear them up yet.

Welcome to all friendly parties!

Brexit day could become a euphemism for never manyana drekly.

Don’t worry boss I’ll have it done by brexit time.

Excuse me, thank you, excuse me, just trying to get to the Bar.

Made it. Pint of Best and a packet of Twiglets please.

So we've got "NHS-faces" and Trump Lovers to add to our repertoire of descriptives. I have to say I couldn't give so many braincells towards finding any descriptives towards anyone that voted 'remain' in the 2016 Ref as some do to the leave crowd.

Tis indeed so blissful to keep my ignorance until the GE. My finger is not on the pulse so don't ask me what's happening in politico land.

That pint slid right down. Another please LL, before I excuse me, sashay my way in my wellies, towards the my chair by the fire.

HateIsNotGood · 31/10/2019 21:07

Never manana dreckly Grin. SW perchance darkclouds?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 31/10/2019 21:08

Does anyone know any remainers that have visited America? I read about 4 million do every year. And I am wondering what they all eat. Apparently their food standards are awful and they chlorinate their chicken.

So what do remainers eat in the USA, do they all become non GM organic fruitarians for their holiday?

SunnyupLands · 31/10/2019 21:08

Happy 'non brexit' day everyone.

Happy day, still in our shackles, trudging along to the beat of junkers squiffy drum and mad Guys latest hair brain schemes.

But, bye bye, biased Bercow.

HateIsNotGood · 31/10/2019 21:19

I do think that Junkers has helped add to our vocabulary though with
"prolongation".

Meaning - my pain is collectively yours. I live in a tiny, weeny country that is led by despots and liars and their NHS-faced followers voted to leave your great Collective. I am vastly unhappy about this so I am going to make my pain your pain.

I do not care about the pain I'm causing to the 27 other countries as I try and block the vote my stupid, tiny country with not the greatest weather made. It's my pain that is paramount.

SunnyupLands · 31/10/2019 21:27

Walking I expect they lower their standards just as they do in the eu.

TheGirlFromStoryville · 31/10/2019 21:33

Talking about food in the states...
I've visited USA several times and have never been ill from their (delish) food.
Yet every time I go short haul I get a tummy bug.

Strange innit 🤔

Walkingdeadfangirl · 31/10/2019 21:40

Yes I have found the same, funny that TheGirlFromStoryville

HateIsNotGood · 31/10/2019 21:41

As i take a breather from all the Brexity Nonsense, my original viewpoint is starting to come together again, a bit.

This, but think of the supply chain stuff, has really got me thinking.
It so supports the Economic Consumistic Capitalistic Model.

But it also counters and contradicts the Climate Change theories.

Whilst economically it may be cheaper to transport parts from A,B,C to D do they can the send E to F who will get parts from G,H,I and then possibly send it back to D who will add parts from J,K,L and M, etc.

That represents a lot of carbon footprint.

Why do we need so many consumable. manufactured goods? What is feeding and fuelling the desire? Why do so many items need replacing? Why cant A, B and F not manufacture goods with parts from C, D and E?

Without involving G, H and I, etc for example.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 31/10/2019 21:41

I eat food

Are we doing the ‘all remainers do...’ thing again

HateIsNotGood · 31/10/2019 21:44

Of course when I said "A,B,C to D do they can the send E to F" the additional confusion in my grammar was completely intentional.

Adding context, dahling....

HateIsNotGood · 31/10/2019 21:56

I'm a big fan of USA food (something for everyone, available any placeany time, anywhere...) but I haven't been there for many years.

I did notice in those years past that ones digestion did need to adjust to USA food if one wasn't too discerning, more processed than the UK so the lack of fibre resulted in ones stool being a little looser.

Things have probably changed a lot. Chlorinated chicken. Sounds very frightening but doesn't it just mean dipping the bare chicken in chlorine to prevent salmonella?

Given I can go to a UK supermarket and buy a chicken for less than £3 I can only hope the dead bird has been dipped in something, because for that price it wouldn't have been in great conditions when it was alive.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 31/10/2019 22:05

Oh thats what it was!!!

Did not stop shitting the entire time...i wondered what it was

Don't seem to get it when weve been on holiday in france, spain etc

Though India..fuck me india. Though i think that was dysentery

Walkingdeadfangirl · 31/10/2019 22:10

HateIsNotGood I have thought the same about supply chains. With the carbon footprint problem how does it make sense to have car parts crossing the channel half a dozen times during production. Why do people need to change their cars every two years.

I remember when I was young my dad would be able to do minor repairs to cars. Cars are now designed so owners can not repair them.
Just ten years ago I could put a new battery in my phone, now they are designed to become redundant in 2 years.

We need to become more self sufficient not less.

SunnyupLands · 31/10/2019 22:18

Apparently there are dangerous levels of something beginning with 'C' on our chickens. M and s Was bad even... Random chickens from waitrose Shock.

Maybe we all need chickens dipped in chlorine?

Bearbehind · 31/10/2019 22:19

You may well have a point, but wouldn’t it have made more sense to investigate the why’s and wherefores before deciding to just chop ourselves off?

That’s the real problem here - we didn’t and still haven’t made any provision for actually leaving

SunnyupLands · 31/10/2019 22:23

Bear, there are endless negative consequences to open borders, being part of the eu, political, socially, economy.
No provisions made, no measures to mitigate these negative issues just trudge right on, over bodies in the way.

Ironic that a remainer would ask for the horse before the cart?

darkcloudsandrainstorms · 31/10/2019 22:25

We have crossed humour off from our shopping list. Sorry I mean humous. Something about Sam and Ella.

Top my cider up please.

Bearbehind · 31/10/2019 22:26

It’s not really ironic.

There’s a massive difference between things that already happen (if you believe they do) and just cutting off a supply chain or whatever else without any kind of back up

Walkingdeadfangirl · 31/10/2019 22:29

wouldn’t it have made more sense to investigate the why’s and wherefores before deciding to just chop ourselves off?

Tell that to extinction rebellion. But I do agree, just not so sure that kind of change can be done gradually, sometimes you just have to pull the plaster off.

Epicwaffle · 31/10/2019 22:32

Just popped in to say, If anyone is having problems with loose stools, I have my handyman coming in tomorrow to fix them, he was recommended to me by @darkcloudsandrainstorms. He has promised earnestly to “get it done” asap.

As you were. Wink

HateIsNotGood · 31/10/2019 23:11

Now we all have a reason for falling off our seats in the pub - the stools were loose.
