Apparently the usual landlady over ordered on Bar nuts on the last thread. Just step over them if you find them here, as we haven’t had a chance to clear them up yet.

Welcome to all friendly parties!

First drinks are free! Wine

Also, this new FTPA bollocks can go straight into the bin.

It already has!

Bearbehind · 31/10/2019 13:07

Twice!

Epicwaffle · 31/10/2019 13:08

Well. Yes, fair point... Grin

That show of hands vote was utterly bonkers. Not only was there a clear disparity in the show of hands in favour of the losing side, why on earth use ‘show of hands’ for what should be such a major policy issue??

Do all major parties operate this system on such large policy issues?

It appears starkly undemocractic to me and open to (as was evidenced) clear abuse by the hardliners.

I’m in Gauke’s constituency so waiting to hear if he stands as an independent or is re-assimilated. Or just quits. Otherwise it’s always going to be Tory.

Wimbledonna · 31/10/2019 13:20

Can't even remember what the point of the FTPA was anymore. Anyway, my money is on a Johnson-Swinson coalition culminating in no Brexit or a Norway type deal. That's just this morning's hunch though. In a few days time things may look wildly different. Grin

time4chocolate · 31/10/2019 13:21

Sterling work Epic it was certainly early doors this morning Wink.

I'm feeling remarkably breezy today so I'm going to pull up a bar stool
and have a large lunchtime Wine and enjoy being this side of the bar Smile.

Because you're stalinists and dodgy as fuck.

DustyDiamond · 31/10/2019 13:26

Interesting polls Dusty but I fear a hung parliament.

Also my fear Wimble - it's a massive high stakes gamble they've all taken

I hold Corbyn in the lowest possible esteem but he’s coming out with some good sound bites for those who like that sort of thing.

Agree Megan - He's a natural at campaigning & always seems enlivened when he's allowed off his leash.

The GFs are so certain that we're all BJ fans, die-hard Tories, No Deal types - they don't seem to get our Pub at all.

True dat Hate - we're a proper mixed bag here Smile

how many people on here live in a constituency where their vote really could make a difference to the outcome

Not me 🐻
True blue constituency

My parents are in a Lib Dem/SNP knife edge marginal (2 votes in it 😮) & they're annoyed as they're leavers - they usually vote Lib Dem but I think they'll just bung their votes to the Tory this time

Morning @time4chocolate

Enjoy the break and being on the other side of the bar for a change! Wine

I feel like Billy Mitchell when Peggy used to occasionally put him in charge. I bow to your experience, hopefully ‘Tracey’ can (quietly) help me keep things on an even keel. I will try not to fuck it up A la Billy. GrinGrin

Sorry for the unecessary ‘eastenders’ puns folks! Grin

Not been in the Brexit Arms for a while, glad to see plenty of you are still in here! My English fizz is still on ice, I think I'll drink it and get another bottle in readiness for 31st Jan (or maybe before then, we live in hope).

Epicwaffle · 31/10/2019 13:51

Welcome back @limer!

Here’s a 🥂 on the house so that you can safely keep your fizz on ice for a later date! Wink

Up to 2014 I lived in an "ultra safe" Labour seat. It is now "safe" SNP. I am not convinced that there any seats where voting doesn't make a difference.
Kensington (won by 20 votes)
Hastings & Rye (won by approx 300 votes)
I'm sure there must be quite a few others. It must be great to live in a marginal where your vote would really make a difference. Makes no difference at all where I live.

howabout · 31/10/2019 14:13

Dusty interesting thinking from your parents. I actually know one or two thinking along the same lines in the same place.
