Apparently the usual landlady over ordered on Bar nuts on the last thread. Just step over them if you find them here, as we haven’t had a chance to clear them up yet.

Welcome to all friendly parties!

What is it about Johnson's own words that you find so horribly goady?

misti you are really not doing yourself any favours here

You know very well it wasn’t the actual words, it’s was the intention behind your posting of them that was the problem

I suspect you don’t behave like that IRL so I’m not sure what makes you think it’s appropriate here other than it’s anonymous and you think it makes you look clever

I can assure you it doesn’t - very much the opposite

howabout · 01/11/2019 13:08

Lindsey Hoyle gets my vote too Star

Defo think Farage is playing the make Boris look moderate game Dusty.

Latest polls have Labour starting to take back chunks from the LibDems so will be interesting to see what happens if it starts to look like a 2 horse race again.

For all the bluster, the SNP are all over social media galvanising their base. They have a lot of marginals where tactical voting and / or lower turnout could unseat them.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 01/11/2019 13:08

Mistigri

Posters who deliberately target people online purely to wind them up are swimming in the same cesspit as the people who send death threats to MP’s.
You’re all trouble makers looking for a reaction.

Epicwaffle · 01/11/2019 13:11

“This sounds perilously close to "she asked for it". Can you expand?”

What an absolute bucket of Wank! Hmm (one for tomorrow’s specials 🤔). @DustyDiamond did not even remotely suggest that. She made a thoughtful analysis from a sociological perspective and wider interpretation of political polarisation. And that’s your interpretation? Glitterball

Glitterball for Misti
Suspect she must be surrounded by Leave voting Brits in France and needs an online outlet to vent.

Always worth remembering what I tell my DC - it doesn't matter what you actually said - what matters is what everyone heard

SunnyupLands · 01/11/2019 13:14

(sighs) the cross we have to bear.

It's also attention seeking dirty, people feeling powerless, unloved, not listened too... All sorts of issues...

SunnyupLands · 01/11/2019 13:15

So no leavers party, but perhaps a Friday night bercows buggered off party?

DustyDiamond · 01/11/2019 13:15

I may politely pass on tomorrow's 'bucket of wank' special Epic 😔

Whilst I'm aware of its supposed vitamin-boosting properties for the face etc, sadly I cannot stomach the texture.

Not to worry! Perhaps there will be some other culinary delight on offer which will tickle my buds...!

DustyDiamond · 01/11/2019 13:17

🐻 - just give her the Glitterball

It's for the best.

I'll drink to that! Cheers 🍻

DustyDiamond · 01/11/2019 13:21

One of my pals is standing as a Brexit Party WM candidate.

He's ever so nice & very passionate about Brexit obvs, but even he's been getting pushback from Brexiter friends of his on his private FB about splitting the leave vote (haven't looked at his official BXP page).

Limer · 01/11/2019 13:22

I’ve just worked out that WM=Westministenders Grin

Any lunchtime specials on today, LL? I’m sure you could whip up a few hearty dishes, Ready Steady Cook style, using the mountains of cut-price stockpiled Brexit foodstuffs that are about to pass their use-by dates Grin

Also delighted the selectively precedent abiding attention seeker has gone Wine although my German in laws have loved watching him and now shout ‘ordaaaaaa’ at any opportunity

howabout · 01/11/2019 13:29

I will be watching the Fireworks celebrating the HoC no longer being at the mercy of Bercow.

Sorry I will also have to pass on the special. It might make garden fertiliser?

howabout · 01/11/2019 13:36

Megan see if you can dig out some old footage of Betty Boothroyd for your in-laws. She did the whole thing much much better.

Love how she just carried on regardless such that MPs automatically shut up and behaved.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 01/11/2019 13:37

I’ll drink to that! Wine

Bollocks to Bercow! Grin

SingingLily · 01/11/2019 13:38

Betty - the last great Speaker.

She would have kept this unruly HoC in line.

Survation taking a look at the effect of tactical voting. No wonder the LibDems love it so much.

Parker231 · 01/11/2019 14:00

News article - Boris, Farage and Trump. What a disastrous combination. Not a sensible judgement call between them!

Nigel Farage today pledged to stand candidates in every seat in the country, rejecting pleas to stand aside and give Boris Johnson the opportunity of unifying the Leave vote.
The Brexit Party leader said that he would be prepared to desert Tory seats “for a Leave alliance” but only if the prime minister renounced his own withdrawal agreement and agreed to negotiate a genuine free trade deal with the European Union.
If not, he warned that he would stand candidates in every seat and make sure “every house in this land” was informed of the “sell out” deal Mr Johnson had negotiated.

Epicwaffle · 01/11/2019 14:11

“Nigel Farage today pledged to stand candidates in every seat in the country, rejecting pleas to stand aside and give Boris Johnson the opportunity of unifying the Leave vote.”

Yep, as I knew all along, he’s an ego driven twat. It’s the stupidest chess move ever, hell hath no fury like a hardline brexiteer scorned. He will lose brexit altogether, for the sake of the “no deal holy grail” and the hardline brexiteers out there, will eat him for breakfast, forever more.

Well done Nigel, Well done. Hmm

It's a shit state of affairs re splitting the leave vote definitely.

But Farage is not remotely serious about a pact if his ultimatum is no deal only, so best strategy for BJ is to refuse.

Pragmatic leavers, moderate leavers, on-the-fencers, Tory voting remain voters who believe the ref should be honoured, and moderate remainers from other parties who believe the ref should be honoured - these people would prefer BJ's WA over no deal.

The people likely to vote BXP are no-dealers (a chunk of former UKIP voters) & leavers who would not, under any circumstances, vote Tory.

DustyDiamond · 01/11/2019 14:20

he’s an ego driven twat

😂😂😂

Yep!!

Might not be a bad chess move though...

People who normally vote Tory but were going to do a 'remain protest' vote for Lib Dem or Labour, or just not vote at all will likely be more scared of Jezsus sneaking in by accident than they are of Brexit.

Parker231 · 01/11/2019 14:21

Farage and Trump have both given a lot of help to Corbyn this week.
