I agree they won’t give up the backstop but Boris is going to spin something to make you think they have

Even if you don’t believe it’ll be anything other than no deal and it’s just hypothetical - what would you do if there was a last minute deal

Parker231 · 29/08/2019 09:57

@mummmy2017 - what should I be looking forward to celebrating?

EleanorTopaz · 29/08/2019 10:04

Hi everyone,

Is the Brexit Arms a safe haven for leavers? If so, can I please come in for a large glass of white wine (British of course)?

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 29/08/2019 10:11

Huzzah! Mummy is back to give the esteemed benefit of her august wisdom!

Lonelycrab · 29/08/2019 10:14

If so, can I please come in for a large glass of white wine (British of course)?

Apparently the bar has sold out as we can’t actually make enough to keep up with demand.

They’ve got still Indian street hooch though.

mummmy2017 · 29/08/2019 10:17

Parker231 that is a loaded question that has no real answer.
We will not disappear as a country, and much like when we have a snow storm things may have to be sorted as they happen for a few days, but life will continue , and there will be food and medication as needed.
I don't think we will really see much happening suddenly, it just Remain need to use project fear to frighten people.

Parker231 · 29/08/2019 10:19

@mummmy2017 - what about jobs in the car industry, supply chain, agriculture, farming, financial services. What is going to happen to the GFA?

bellinisurge · 29/08/2019 10:22

A few days of bumpiness is @mummmy2017 's prediction for No Deal.
I desperately want her to right. I hope the only one who suffers if she is wrong are the people selling this crap.

mummmy2017 · 29/08/2019 10:27

The GFA will need modifying, if Ireland are not to scrap it
Cars, well we all want a car to drive, so maybe we build some? With govenment help for the industry.
Supply do you really think Germany and France will refuse to trade with us?.
Or do you think supermarkets will not find a way to stock their shelves, after all they are only in it for profit.
Service industries have already said they are finding new markets.
And if we can't import farmers will want to produce goods...

Miljah · 29/08/2019 10:29

Oh, mummy, still at your unicorns frolicking in sunlit uplands schtick.

Bless.

mummmy2017 · 29/08/2019 10:30

bellinisurge, just after the vote they proclaimed it would be death destruction and emergency budget. ..never happened.

Lonelycrab · 29/08/2019 10:30

Well we could all drive Maclarens and Caterhams, couldn’t we? Just get the magic money tree out and shake it a bit Shirley?

mummmy2017 · 29/08/2019 10:31

Miljah well all the other disasters proclaimed turned out to be wrong.

Parker231 · 29/08/2019 10:32

Car manufacturers have already told government they will pull out of the UK post Brexit and supermarkets will obviously want to continue selling to us but how will the fresh produce get to us? Farmers will not be able to sell to the EU due to tariffs.

Sounds like you don’t understand how business works. I’ve two clients who are moving their businesses out of the UK with all employees being made redundant and it’s likely there will be many more. Where do you work - is your job at risk?

Lonelycrab · 29/08/2019 10:33

And once we’re importing cheap shitty gm crops and food from the US there won’t actually be a farming industry in this country.

Or did you miss that bit?

bellinisurge · 29/08/2019 10:38

"just after the vote they proclaimed it would be death destruction and emergency budget. ..never happened."

Nope. Leavers just had a hysterical reaction to suggestions that things would be bad AFTER we leave. We haven't left yet.

mummmy2017 · 29/08/2019 10:39

If there is a need for a product and someone pulls out of the market, either a better version gets funded and produced or you buy from a different market.
If for a while we change what we eat and go seasonal or uses frozen toned or canned it won't kill us. Ask the stockpiles.
If you personally don't wish to eat certain products then don't.
Or are you trying to say there will be no food to buy, that you can eat?

mummmy2017 · 29/08/2019 10:41

bellinisurge this was to happen after the vote...in 2016....
That never happened DC was saying this.
The past is what I am talking about.

Lonelycrab · 29/08/2019 10:42

No, just that it’ll be rubbish and expensive with not much choice. Yay!

bellinisurge · 29/08/2019 10:42

@mummmy2017 , that it will be more expensive and supply will be unsteady. And if you can't afford it, that is the same as it not being available.

Parker231 · 29/08/2019 10:42

@mummmy2017 - you still haven’t said how we’ll benefit from a no deal exit from the EU?

You obviously don’t understand how our supply chain works! How will the JIT process work for the car industry?

mummmy2017 · 29/08/2019 10:45

So are you saying no car parts will ever be sold to the UK ever again?

bellinisurge · 29/08/2019 10:48

It's about price and viability of a product if it is too expensive to make.

mummmy2017 · 29/08/2019 11:03

People won't give up on having a car, would you?
So this means something will happen.

Miljah · 29/08/2019 11:16

mummy what 'disasters' that haven't happened, yet? We haven't left the EU yet, however the pound is plummeting, our growth has stagnated, non-EU immigration is up (I don't have a specific problem with this, only 'taking back control' didn't seem to have had this outcome in mind....).

Come back to us in a year and tell us about disasters, eh?
