People are meeting at College Green (just down the way from Parliament Square) this evening at 5:30 (and on I guess)

Saturday 31st there is a protest outside Downing street at 12pm. See photo.

I'll add any more that I see. Feel free to do the same.

You’re going to march over a net loss of some 4 days of Parliamentary time? It’s a view, I guess.

Thanks for the bumps. Much appreciated!

Let's get this up to half a million by the 6pm news. They may well not have time to debate it, but the numbers still show we reject this prorogation.

Isn't it a given that it will go ahead now the QUeen has agreed to it?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/08/2019 16:50

Well done!

I don't honestly know Thumb but at least we can at least say that we did our best, when our grandkids asked us what we did to try and stop this.

Where is the coverage of the protests?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/08/2019 16:58

What do you mean Fractal? I guess tonight's might get mentioned on the news, but only if it gets big enough.
I'm gathering what I can from twitter and facebook.

Signed

Okbaby · 28/08/2019 17:00

It’s an extra 4 days. People are overreacting. Stopping brexit is against democracy surely

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 28/08/2019 17:02

Absolutely OYBBK - and I've signed the petition and shared it on FB.
But as someone rightly pointed out, they're not going to be able to bloody well debate it if Parliament has already closed.

And yet signing it is still striking a blow - showing that this is not what most people want. I'm heartsick about the whole fucking thing - it's going to be an utter fucking disaster. :(

bigchris · 28/08/2019 17:04

this is not what most people want

And still more people voted brexit than not.....

Signed the petition and will go to as many protests I can. This is unbelievable. Overreacting my arse.

So you’re advocating blowing up parliament? Nice attitude from ‘the caring left’

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/08/2019 17:08

I think blowing up Parliament would be a bit counter productive as to what we are trying to achieve Grin

Well done DarkNoise :)

Signed and passed on. Protests are not at all an over-reaction if we can't speak out against the erosion of our democracy then we really are stuffed. This isn't about Brexit anymore, it's much bigger than that.

Tonnerre · 28/08/2019 17:10

And still more people voted brexit than not.....

Following a campaign riddled with fraud on the Leave side, which nevertheless repeatedly promising that leaving with No Deal would never, ever happen.

Tonnerre · 28/08/2019 17:11

Stopping brexit is against democracy surely

No, running a referendum riddled with fraud on one side and failing to set aside the result was against democracy.
